I have had a terrible experience with this company. I purchased a car from them, being told that it was in full working order. They even made sure to repeat multiple times that they had replaced the clutch. However, what they had failed to mention, was that the car had been involved in an accident prior to purchase. What I had noticed was that the car was sold to me with 3 smooth tyres, and faulty headlights. However, soon after purchase, the car overheated quickly and smoke was bellowing from the engine. I took it to a shop near me in order to get a quick answer, and was told that the gasket had blown, there was damaged to the radiator cap, there was NO RADIATOR UNDERCARRIAGE, and there were white spots on the engine from overheating. And also, the dampers needed to be replaced. This is all after I had already spent 3.5k replacing the tyres and additional cash replacing the headlights. I tried to contact the Umgeni AutoHaus and was met by increasing frustration as I couldn't get a response from then for almost 2 weeks. Once I finally got a response from them, they tried to twist everything onto me and said there was nothing they could do. They tried to blame me for taking the car into another shop, and not contacting them directly, and a whole bunch of nonsense that had nothing to do with the fact that they had sold me a car with accident damage. There is no way that would have gotten a COR based on the tyres and headlights alone. Yet I was told that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle upon purchase. This is turning into a very difficult situation, as they refuse to take any accountability, and I am not able to afford the overwhelming cost of repairing this car. I would give them zero stars if I could.

On December 4, I bought an Audi A4 at Umgeni Autohaus. The service was good and the staff was very friendly. Before paying for the car, I requested its service book and Kriben told me he was gonna call Audi for that. I requested for a spare key, he said he was gonna have it couriered as it was still with the previous owner. I have been pestering him for these. And on one occasion when I was parking the car on a pavement, I noticed a lot of noise underneath and I told him. The car would shake violently when on neutral and cut. I told him and he said its service and i requested the service book as he had previously told me service was done on intervals. He ran away, not answering my calls until i had to call the owner Jason I sent Jason all the Whatsapp conversations between myself and Kriben. He advised that he was not at the office and will call me when he gets there. I called him the following day and he said he was from a Dr and will call me the next day...he didn't till I called him and he asked what is it that I need him to do for me, I told him about the service and referred him to my Whatsapp messages on his phone. He promised to have a look at my file and come back to me. It was Friday last week and since then I've been dropping him texts and he wouldn't bother himself responding. The car has got lots of faults, no spare key, idling, service and no service book. Kindly come to my rescue.

Good day, I would like to let everyone know about the horrible experience I had with Umgeni Autohaus. I purchased a Hyundai i10 from them in October 2016. we test drove the car but the car had no petrol the tank was absolutely empty so we drove around the block robot to robot not going over the speed of 60. I paid R75 000 for the car. On my way home the car broke, it was a Auto so when the car was reaching a speed of 100 it was jumping from gear 5 to gear 3 and staying on gear 3 until I switch the car of and on again. I called a man by they Name of Faizle the same day he said he was aware of the problem and he was going to fix it. So that Monday he fetched the car from my work to 'fix" it stating he would return it that afternoon. The car was only returned that Wednesday, he gave me the car with the logbook on my name without me even signing any form. He delivered the car around 7pm not allowing me to test drive it claiming he was in a hurry to go to the airport. Once he left I test drove the car and the car was doing the exact same thing so I called him he said he was coming to fetch the car from me but he never came. So Thursday morning I went to the shop to return the car. He told me not a problem he will give me my money back and that I must keep the logbook as proof that he was going to pay me. It is now 2019 I still did not get my money back he had the car and my money. I even got a Lawyer but had no joy reason being it was taking us so long to get a court date ( Lawyer was also very useless). Eventually I got a call from a guy by the name of Kriben 'Manager" stating that Faizle is fired and they want to give me my car back. So I thought I rather take the car back and get some money back than letting them have the car and money. The agreement was that Kriben gets the car fixed and pays up the backwards licence (reason for it being back I was told by my lawyer not to buy license for the car) so I agreed to taking the car back. When I went the car was in a bad state it had full scratches and it was smashed on the side like it got sc****d on the wall. Anyway I took the car back it was not fixed the gear box was still doing the same thing. Even the license that they promised to pay is not paid up its and ongoing today tomorrow story. So I would like everyone to know what thieves they are. They are such shady people that up until today I never met nor heard of the owner who goes by the name of Jason.

Firstly this company has a bunch of liars for emplyees, we bought a vehicle from Autohaus and Kriben Govender. We were promised alot of things and none of it was true. But we only found out the truth after payment was made into their account and time for producing what they promised came. We bought a vehicle ... they promised it only had one previous owner, the log book and service history is available and will be given to us after we made payment for the vehicle. After payment was made into their account we only received the logbook and said that the service history would be available the following day for pick up. We went there the next day and yet again they had stories. We took the vehicle for a service at Mccarthy Volkswagen in Durban City Centre right after we bought it from this company. There we were yhen informed that the odometer of the vehicle has been tampered with and it had several owners. Also the turbo of the vehicle is blown and the injectors of the vehicle is busy packing up. We went back to Autohaus to demand our money back or for compensation. But after a court case the judge granted R15000 plus interest plus sheriff fees to be paid back to us. But still to no avail. No payment, and a broken vehicle which we are unable to drive and we paid alot of money for the promised vehicle. I want to warn each and everybody about these crooks, they lie crook and steal innocent peoples money when all they want is to buy a good car for their money. Mr Kriben Govender is very arrogant as he does not correspond to either email, telecon sms etc. I am with my hands in my hair as I had a iod at work and i can not do my trade anymore thats why i bought this vehicle to start something new and support my family... (3kids still in school and a sick wife) but now 4 months down the line no vehicle ... no job no money to support my family and they just dont care. So today I want to warn you .... before dealing with this company make sure of everything the tell you. Because i have been crooked and conned out of my money. And that even after i paid the salesman an extra R1000 in cash on commission too. Umgeni Autohaus con innocent people out of their hard earned money.

On the 27/06/2017, I purchased a VW Polo from Umgeni Autohaus. Vernon the salesman initially told me the car R65000 however when i got there Fazil said the car was in immaculate condition, FSH, nothing to do on the car and he wants R70000 nothing less. so with much persuasion, i bought the car for R70k. Firstly as I drove the car I felt that the clutch was very high. That same evening the headlights wouldn't come on. I contacted Vernon and he said i should bring the car to him the next morning and he will sort it out. On my break i drove to town, Vernon was not there, Fazil said to go the his mechanic in Phoenix and he will sort out the car. I took the car for a multi point check 3 days later as I was skeptical and it was my sons birthday and were driving long distance and im a single and was scared what if something happens. the testing center confirmed that the shocks were bad, the clutch was bad, the headlights was an electrical fault. I have been calling Fazil and texting him, he said he will get back to me but hasn't. I have now reported him to Ombudsman and awaiting feedback. I just spent R6300 to do a major service as the car was last serviced with VW at 45000km and the car is now doing 145000kms. I had to do the shocks and wheel bearings. I dont have the money for clutch and CV joints or to sort out the headlights. Fazil has ripped me off because I am a woman.

We bought a motor vehicle from Umgeni Autohaus In Umgeni Road on the 27 January 2017. The advertised price on Surf for Cars was approximately R80000.00 I called and spoke to Vernon and requested a discount for a cash purchase. He called me and advise he can give it to us at R71000.00 with all licensing and COR clearance etc.

We went in the same afternoon and signed the paperwork and did the transfer. I di advise that we are purchasing the vehicle to be used to take my son who has Leukaemia for all his treatments and don’t want any issues, he assured us that there is no issues and if any will be resolved. He said we can drive it the weekend and if any faults must advise him about it. On Monday we told him that the vehicle was stalling and that was not reversing, there was a loud noise and a few other complaints, he picked up the vehicle and a week later told us the vehicle was ready. We have now after several time of sending the vehicle for the same issues, approximately 8 times, the vehicle is still not yet fixed. If any it is of a worse of condition as now it undriveable as if you put it in reverse it goes forward and jumps back. We have send the owner Kriben and his manager footage of the vehicle, they say they understand and promise it will be fixed, but its never been fixed.
Over and above we have to drop the vehicle, pick the vehicle or drop the vehicle off, we are never compensated for any of the inconvenience, also we send the vehicle with Petrol , it still come empty to us. We have spoken to Vernon, Kriben, Faisal and Kuben, but nothing is being done.

On Thursday they have dropped the vehicle once again, the vehicle drove okay on that day, when my husband went to drop the person who delivered the vehicle , on Saturday we were going out and wanted to use the vehicle it refused to go in reverse, it now leaks ail and water which we have send pictures to them as well, They say they will call you back and no one attempts to call.

I advised him that we want the vehicle returned and out money refunded , but he still insists he wants to fix the vehicle. We are afraid if this passes the 6 months period we are not going to be able to resolve this and it will then become our issue. We have not given them just 1 attempt to fix the vehicle but approximately 7 /8 times now.

Please can you assist as we are now asking for a refund as we have given them several opportunities to fix the vehicle , it is costing us more now to send the vehicle up and down, From the time we purchased the vehicle we drove it most for a week as the other times it has been at their workshop or repairs.
