We have spent an inordinate amount of money with Waterhouse over the last 1 ½ years and we don’t even have a large pond and we are told by their staff that people only replace their impellers every 10 years! Our pond is small and the filter is cleaned regularly and to be clear, our gardener does not touch the pump at all! The pump is on surge protection, has a net covering the filter inlet to reduce debris intake and contains no fish. Sequence of Events : 08 March 2024 Purchased 5000/hr Pump R3 415.00 Over the period of 17 months the following expenses were incurred (All at additional costs) : • Broken Impeller replaced • Replaced Filters (x2) • Replaced Filter housing • Replaced Impeller Cover • Replaced Impeller AGAIN! • Turbulence in water, told hole in Pump Casing - Useless 14 October 2025 Purchased New Pump R2 800.00 • Shattered impeller (in 1 week!) • Installed recovered Impeller from previous pump • Turbulence in the water …… Pump completely burnt out a and in pieces in the pond within 2 weeks. Assistance/trouble shooting was requested from Chelcea and the response was an invoice for a call out fee. A letter sent via email to the CEO was never acknowledged, the same letter sent via Whatsapp - never read DO NOT USE WATERHOUSE PUMPS - They have no intention of maintaining honest client relationships and the products they sell are definitely substandard and the guarantees/warranty they offer mean absolutely NOTHING!

The overall service received from Waterhouse Pumps was really poor and unprofessional, and we would recommend that you steer clear of this company altogether, especially when considering an installation to your pond or fountain. We contacted Waterhouse Pumps mid-October 24 to inquire if they would be able to install a new solar system and pump on a small size cement fountain in our garden. Mike from Waterhouse came out to install the system at the end of October 24. When asked whether the fountain would be fully rewired which was the expectation on our side, Mike suggested that we utilize the existing internal fountain wiring in order to prevent a leak in the fountain bowl. We were not sure about this, as we had paid for a new installation, and could not be sure about the existing wiring, however Mike assured us that if we had any issues with the wiring, then he would be happy to sort it out. The initial issues that arose from the installation were that the solar panel was fitted against our electric fence wires (which caused our fence to continuously go off), and that the pump fitted by Waterhouse was too strong for the fountain and water was gushing out of the top. Mike came out in his own capacity (and at an additional cost) to sort these initial issues out on Saturday 2 November 24. The fountain installation stopped working for the first time on 3 November 24 (5 days after installation), and again on 18 November, and again on 25 November, and again on 5 December 24. I have photos of the poorly fitted cable connections, secured with sticky tape and masking tape (without using connector kits). Each time, the same person (Mike) came out and did a quick fix on the wiring of the installation, whilst we continuously communicated with Waterhouse around the fact that the wiring was not properly installed. We again started having issues with the fountain May 25 and went back to Waterhouse again to let them know that the fountain had stopped working. Chelchea from Waterhouse contacted me saying that they would be willing to change the pump for us as it was still under guarantee but would charge me a call out fee. I again (as done telephonically and on email previously) explained that the wiring had not been done properly. Waterhouse insisted that I had told Mike to wire the fountain in this way (which is absolutely not true) and they refused to assist. There was actually nothing wrong with the pump, and the contractor that finally re-did the wiring with proper connections also realized that the solar system battery which was fitted by Waterhouse was either used or faulty, and had failed just over 6-months from installation. Shawn (the owner), Mike, Ayub and Chelsea all absolutely useless, opinionated and unreliable. I have all of the required emails, Whatsapp messages and photos of the work done to substantiate this review. Please stay away.

I bought a Waterhouse pump through Builder's Warehouse, and it was an expensive pump. Within about a month, the pump stopped working. I took it in to be repaired by Waterhouse, but when I got it back, it still didn't work. I took it back a second time and was told that they couldn't repair it and would replace it. I got a replacement pump from Waterhouse, and the new one still did not work. After all of this, I contacted Waterhouse but they refused to give me a refund. I don't find it acceptable for companies to sell products and refuse to give a refund when their product does not work

Cant recommend to buy there. I rodered a fountain pump which was to small, so returned it on my cost. Even after 4 weeks no processing of credit! No feedback on emails first and last time I bought there

I created an order at WaterHouse online but did not complete and pay for it because the delivery charge was vey high. Since I live fairly close to the company's premises I decided to go to their offices and collect the items I wanted. Firstly, on the day after I entered the unfulfilled order, they followed it up with the offer of an extra 10% discount. So I found the premises and was helped by a charming young lady named Chelsea. I had a most satisfactory experience there and was able to obtain the item I wanted, and the extra discount was allowed - more than in full! I can honestly say it was a pleasure to deal wit the company

Had a problem with a pump that wa not working although the web page made it clear that the pumps had an issue so the six month warrantee had been withdrawn. After a number of emails trying to get a replacement pump I contacted Shawn the owner who without question instructed his staff to refund the amount paid in full and to then ship a replacement to me. Thank you Shawn that is the way a good business owner should treat his customers. Would recommend this company whose communications with a customer is first class. Eddie Kennedy

Do not trust the prices they advertise especially on the Webpage. We bought 32mm Pipe on 19-03-2024, when we were at the shop we asked for 12m of the 32mm UPVC pipe, when we paid they charged us more than R50pm where the webpage stated R34pm. When we asked them they told us due to different suppliers they prices differ. Be very aware of the prices on the products they sell. The service further was ok, most parts we needed for our piping they did not have. We had to go to another supplier.
