I received a car of higher mileage than stock list indicated, flew up all the way from the eastern cape to Randburg to get to a car of well over 300 000kms on clock, filthy dirty and ALOT of cosmetic faults, after months of driving the car, and it breaking down inbetween and me fixing it on my own accord, all I asked for was for owner Clifford Holtzhausen to meet me half way and I gave him a couple of options to do so. Its been almost two weeks after I have given back the car and NO WORD FROM HIM OR ANY OF HIS EMPLOYEES WHAT SO EVER. I now want my full deposit of R16 500 back, this case has also been reported to the motor Ombudsman of South africa, I have been nice for long enough and have given you more than one option to meet me half way.

I just want to send you some positive communication 😊 I love my Kuga, thank you for allowing the exchange. Thank you for the additional perks on the new car such as the Service plan and Warranty, and thank you for the new staff and their excellent customer service and prompt responses. The workshop and the workshop team is outstanding (Special shout out to Thomas) The experience really has turned around and I am loving it.

I took a lease out with Own a rental, 1 Main road, Newlands, Company number 2017/120062/07. Towards the end of August I started having starter problems. The car would swing and not start. I took the car in for them to check and advise of what the issue might be so I could budget the fix – reason I took it to them is because they stated that they have s workshop and they would prefer fixing the car there than anywhere else. As a result when this happened I took it straight to hem rather than even look elsewhere. They ran diagnostics and told me it was a sensor. I took the car to be fixed the first time – this sensor – took my car back and was billed a petrol fee, I sent a mail asking where in the contract does it state that I would need to pay a petrol fee for repairs and no response (attached). I drove the car off and on the second start the problem happened again. I called them and they said to give it three days, as if the original problem still not fixed would all f a sudden go away. It did not. I then took the car back to them. This time they said it was other sensors and this is an additional cost. This time they had the car for longer. They told me I could collect the car, I did and the very same problem happened again. At this time, I’m being sent to different people every time to deal with this issue. I took the car back again, this time, the third time, them telling me it is saying a different problem. I protest and say I cant keep paying for their guessing games, they reply that they will get it from Nissan etc, I have to pay for the part so they not losing but I wont need to pay labour. This is now 3 different pricings and me paying and a problem they still guessing. I got my car back 3 and a half weeks later and that very same day I drove to Hartbee****rt Dam and the car did not start again. – this is still the same problem from now three months ago. I phone them and get the same response give it three days. For what I don’t know. Magic perhaps. Took the car back – this is now the fourth time I am referring to – this time and the car has been there for 5 weeks this time. I told them that we can dissolve this contract on this specific car or they can give me another car at the same price as this is a lease and not an actual financed car. Finally after more days of waiting they tell me yes it is fine and a car has come in. I waited 7 days on the details of this car and all of a sudden this morning they tell me it is no longer available as its sold. I ask how could that be as I was waiting for information it. They are giving me the run around and stalling so they can give me back that broken car I’ve been paying for an unable to drive. When I go in there, everyone including the people I am dealing with walk past and leave me sitting for hours without communication or consideration. I am tired of the abuse and inconsideration from this dealership. This is me taking action. A resolution for me would be another car as promised or my R50000 deposit back and we call it quits.

stay very far away from this dealer, what they say and do are 2 different things. they sold me a car that was over book price as it was one owner from new and low millage and full service history with nothing to spend on the car as they would fix it, but that's not the case the car was owned by them for 5 years and had another 4 owners, the car only did under 3500km in over 1 and a half years which is impossible as it was doing 20 000 plus every year as per service records. the car steering controls weren't fixed it has suspension issues and a lot more issues. they also added a motor warranty on the deal which I couldn't use is they didn't pay for it yet charged me for it and a lot more other issues gave them a chance to fix the car even that they cut corners by not replacing parts they just covered stuff up and oiled and glued parts. now need to take further steps as ombudsman doesn't help or respond to you. now need lawyers involved and need to open fraud case ect be warned and stay very far away from them

I underwent a vehicle hire deal (Rent to buy/own) with the Western Autohaus dealership under their ownarental division in November 2017 and signed the contract that say I will become the owner of the vehicle within 48 months period. Needless to say, i have had many issues with the car from the onset but being in need of a car at that time i beared it all and would endure a constant back and forth what with the car having to be repaired for something before the delivery took place even though R30 000.00 deposit was paid in full, up until today nothing was fixed and the car still gives me the same problem. To cut the matter short,in May 2018 i requested them to give settlement amount, on which Ennis who is the branch manager indicated to me via WhatsApp that is standing at R55 452.00,to my surprise i contacted the same dealership asking for a settlement amount last November 2019 and this time around they told me the settlement amount is R64 608.00,i was very angry and surprised about this as they seems to escalate the this amounts even though i did not skip any monthly instalment, they simply apologised and to me their admin lady made a mistake even though this should have not been my problem I have accepted their apology and moved on. Just three weeks ago ,i contacted the dealership requesting the settlement amount and to my disbelief, I was told this time around the settlement amount is R83 464.00,even I have paid and honoured all the monthly instalments this people are really taking advantage of their desperate clients like me and I feel like being ripped off. The purchase vehicle price was R 145 000 and i am paying monthly instalment R 4641,55 and with the included tracker and insurence is R 6355,00 From November 2017 up to so far i have paid the delaship an amount of R 159 963.40 with the deposit and this excludes the insurence and tracker I want to to end the agreement, return their car and get my deposit back as it is not working out and not beneficial to me at all,it looks like i am dealing with crooks

We underwent a vehicle hire deal (Rent to buy) with the Western Autohaus dealership under their ownarental division in 2017. Needless to say, we have had many issues with the car from the onset but being in need of a car at that time we beared it all and would endure a constant back and forth what with the car having to be repaired for something every other month. Throughout this time we never missed any of the installments, serviced the car, added new tyres, smash and grab etc. We would be without a vehicle for weeks/ months at a time but would still honour our monthly payments. The car would sometimes have to go back to their mechanics for the same faults over and over, without it being repaired correctly. It seems they would do surface jobs . The car would have to go back THE SAME DAY that it was supposedly fixed for the very same issue or a different one. The shoddy mechanic they had was dismissed due to many of their clients returning the cars because he would not do a proper job on the cars. We had an issue where the car came back from them and while driving back from the dealership noise could be heard coming from the wheels. Luckily we pulled over and checked what it was, just to find that the wheel nuts had not been tied securely at both the front wheels. One time the wheel bearing was supposed to be fixed and we were told that the car was ready for collection just to find that the entire thing was still lose. The car had to be towed back to the dealership. It was after that where that mechanic was fired. We suffered many hardships with the car and the final straw was when we were left stranded in Kimberley with a car that refused to start. We did not want to fiddle with anything on the car and phoned the dealership on what to do as we were also paying insurance on the car. We followed their advise on what to do and got the car to a dealership in Kimberley to check the fault. No one could ascertain what was wrong. To make a long story short, we left the car that side, had to arrange and pay for towing ourselves as the insurance only covered a few kilometres (We did not know this). The dealership could not find the fault nor fix the car for months and then wanted us to pay for the repair out of our pockets while in all essence and as per the agreement the car remains their property and possession for the entire time of the agreement up until the rental period is over and all transfer processes have been done. We have subsequently decided to end the agreement as it was not working out and not beneficial to us at all. Why should we have to pay for a car that does not belong to us and that they can take and sell to the next desperate client again just like that? We now require our deposit back as we honoured all the installments to date. We have sent an official letter requesting our R21000.00 deposit to be paid back to us but all correspondence have gone unanswered. The sales person Ennis that took over from the woman whom we initially signed the agreement with told us that he has forwarded and talked to the owner Clifford Holtshausen regarding our request but he did not say anything and that there is only so much that he (Ennis) can do as he is only an employee at Western Autohaus. This is unethical and unprofessional as we are getting no response from them regarding our deposit. We need our money back as they have the car in their possession.
