Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Late Offer Letter and Missed Registration Deadline Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to formally raise a concern regarding the admission process for my 2026 application. On 18 February 2026, I received an official offer letter from the University of the Wi****ersrand confirming my acceptance to study in 2026. However, when I attempted to complete my online registration on the same day, I discovered that registration had already closed on 17 February 2026—one day before I received the offer. This situation has placed me in a deeply unfair and distressing position. The delay in issuing my offer letter directly prevented me from registering on time. I acted immediately upon receiving the offer, yet I am now being informed that I must defer my studies to 2027, through no fault of my own. I respectfully request that the University urgently review this matter and provide a fair resolution. I am willing and fully prepared to begin my studies in 2026, and I believe it is reasonable to expect that an offer should allow adequate time for registration. I kindly request: Reinstatement of my registration opportunity for the 2026 academic year, OR A clear explanation of how this procedural oversight occurred and how the University plans to remedy it. I look forward to your prompt response, as this issue has significant implications for my academic and personal planning. Yours sincerely, Ntombi April

My daughter has an international sponsor for her Masters degree which she is studying through Wits. In March last year she submitted her proof of payment from her bursar and logged the necessary ticket to have it allocated. Wits are harassing her for payment and charging interest but they have not responded to her ticket (which is still open) for 39 weeks! We can also not get hold of a single person to assist with this - the numbers are just never answered!

I had to visit Wits on the 30th January, entering through the Empire Road entrance. The security wrer absolutely brilliant, being very friendly and efficient and going out of their way to be of assistance. The security at the Planetarium entrance were just as good. They certainly give the University a very good first impression for visitors.

My name is Nobuhle Ngwenya, student number 2563176, and I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with Wits University Health and Science Department. I paid my school fees in full in August, and I have no outstanding balance, yet I have been blocked from graduating. This is completely unacceptable and has caused severe stress for me and my family. We have tried calling multiple numbers (011 717 2061, 011 717 2451, 011 717 2029) countless times, but no one answers. This lack of communication and accountability is highly unprofessional and damaging to the university’s reputation. Graduation is a critical milestone, and this delay is jeopardizing my future opportunities. If this matter is not resolved immediately, I will have no choice but to escalate further, including reporting to higher authorities and considering legal action. Desired Outcome: Immediate clarification and removal of the graduation block. A formal apology for the inconvenience caused. Improved communication channels for students to avoid similar issues.

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the treatment and communication I received from Wits Dental Clinic in Johannesburg. On 9th May 2025, I attended an appointment at the clinic and was seen by a dentist who advised that I required further assessment by a Prosthodontics specialist. I was informed that my file would be submitted to the Prosthodontics department and that I would be contacted within approximately three months to schedule an appointment. However, after receiving no communication for several months, I followed up with the clinic on 16th September 2025. To my dismay, I was informed that I am not on the waiting list and that the treating doctor had apparently taken my file directly to the Prosthodontics department. This explanation strikes me as highly irregular and possibly inaccurate, especially given the lack of any confirmation or follow-up from the department itself. Furthermore, I was told that the waiting list for Prosthodontic services exceeds two years—a fact that was never disclosed to me during my initial consultation. This lack of transparency and failure to communicate critical timelines is unacceptable and has caused me significant distress and inconvenience. My file number is 6120381, and I request that this matter be investigated thoroughly. I find the handling of my case to be unprofessional and indicative of a broader issue in patient care and administrative accountability. I am requesting the following: • A formal explanation for the miscommunication and delay • Clarification on the current status of my file and expected timeline • Immediate consideration for alternative arrangements or referrals I trust that this matter will be treated with the seriousness it deserves. Should I not receive a satisfactory response within 14 days, I will escalate this complaint to the Office of Health Standards Compliance and the Health Professions Council of South Africa.

Academic dishonesty and unacceptably low standards have been the experience at the Wits School of Education. I signed up part time for the PGCE part time course and bitterly regret ever choosing to study with the Wits School of Education because it was a massive waste of time. The lecturer for Theory of Education, Bronwen Wilson-Thompson, for weekly quizzes administered tests via the LMS that were so completely racked with errors they could serve no learning purpose whatsoever. Every conceivable error possible for a test to have were in these tests. Even worse, I detected the use of AI in some of the questions, which if students use according to university policy, is academic dishonesty. So I reported the issue to her and she feigned she would assist, but did not. I followed the grievance procedure, and Dr Durandt was equally useless. She did not properly investigate and told me the issues raised were dealt with. However, these issues persisted and at the end of the semester the lecturer reopened the faulty assessments and never bothered to set proper tests for those willing to take them. She completely ignored the grievance and these grievances were time consuming to pursue. Nothwithstanding in the other module all reading material was late and slides were of poor quality. Dr Cloete cancelled face to face classes when students were already on campus. So I missed class because of that. A formal appeal was made to the assistant dean, Prof. Nkambule, but she and her staff all are equally *******ed and *****ed and never once accepted any accountability for the wrecklessness of their staff. I appealed for a full refund because I did not receive access to a proper assessments of university standard and so could not acquire access to the skills and knowledge I paid for which I need for a Master's degree and professional purposes. They selected a policy statement that allows them to overlook what happened and stuck like *****s to it disregarding the academic dishonesty from the lecturer and their wreckless behaviours. They merely follow policy and procedure with no effort to address any of the issues or accept accountability. They do not care for their students and ensuring the quality learning material is provided on time. It was an absolute waste of time signing up to do the PGCE at Wits because they just want you sit through it to give you a piece of paper, without giving you access to skills and knowledge that you are entitled to - without question - because you paid for it! WSOE has no intention of creating academics and severely lacks integrity. Why are lecturers allowed to use AI to set up postgraduate tests that asks you what word is used in the article? Is that what we pay for? To be a qualified know-nothing. And the lies. If you don't want to set a test, just say so. Then I can take my money back and go elsewhere. They are not interested in helping and deny you what you paid for.

I can't get help from anyone here. It's impossible to get help as nobody here can assist in getting admissions. Good place to study from the environment but not so great in administration.
