Akeso let someone beat me black and blue whilst I was here and they didn't get kicked out until later. Which is crazy because I got kicked out for holding hands with someone. Guess akeso allows abuse but frowns upon "dating".

I really enjoyed my journey at Akeso. The Clinical Psychologist that was running some of the groups really knew how to connect with the group members. I would have liked him for therapy as I also heard how effective he was with his patient- my room mate. The male OT was also good. Thank you.

1. Inappropriate Communication: On Friday during the day shift, Lungisani (a male nurse) called me while I was in the shower and abruptly said, “Am I going to take medication or what?” I found this to be quite unprofessional and lacking in sensitivity. When I asked him why he spoke like that, nurse, Dorcass, said that I was being dramatic. 2. Delayed Medical Follow-Up: Psychiatrist had recommended that I undergo an EEG and consult with the GP. However, nothing was actioned until I personally approached the nurses to ask about the authorisation. As of now, I am still waiting for those appointments to be arranged. 3. Male Nurses in Female Room: Having male nurses check in on the female ward feels uncomfortable, especially when there are female nurses available during the same shift. I believe some consideration should be given to assigning staff more appropriately in such cases. 4. Staff Attitudes: A general observation is that many staff members seem disinterested or unhappy to be here. Their attitudes often come across as dismissive or grumpy, which impacts the overall atmosphere and patient experience. 5. Kitchen Hygiene: The kitchen area has a serious roach infestation. I reported this issue, but the staff response said that “there’s nothing they can do, it’s the hospital issue”. This was Thursday night at 8pm. I find this unacceptable. Isn’t fumigation or pest control a standard procedure in such situations?

Greetings. I am having a problem with This clinic management, we are Not allowed to order food of our own choice but we are fed terrible food fit for pets in their kitchen for patients. And a lot of money is taken away from our medical aids. I would never advise anyone to seek help There... Because even when you report issues they fall on deaf ears...... 😤😤😤😤 Their Company review is very pathetic...

If there was a negative rating, that’s exactly what I would rate this clinic. We’ve have had to transfer a family member (after 5 days) because of negligence under high care after a head concussion following a terrible fall in the shower as a result of being highly sedated. The concussion was never checked by the nurses nor reported to the family. This place is not conducive for wellness and people with mental health challenges. The horror and shock I was exposed to in the wards…almost everyone in there was in zombie state. I would never recommend this facility.

After the horrible experience from AKESO Alverto , I decided to enquire at AKESO Parktown. The line was answered by a lady named Samu, then she explained the procedure of my admission to the facility, then she promised to send me the forms and Authorization details, till now, I have not received the email from her. I then called back and the next lady I spoke to says there is no Samu at their offices. What a dissapointment from AKESO facilities, especially when we are seeking medical assistance.

1. Every meal has plastic or hair in it 2. Gym is used as a storeroom 3. in 2 weeks, my child has not had ONE therapy session 4. Nurses see kids fighting physically, having seizures, and do NOTHING 5. ZERO parental support 6. ZERO communication from "the******s" I stumbled on a Family Support session my mistake in conversation with a nurse (OT / The******s were supposed to alert us by email 7. Children are supporting each other during crises, because none of the staff care to intervene 8. My child has been there 2 weeks, has become angry, violent and doesn't even recognize herself in her own behaviour. I'm getting her out NOW! 9. NO Complaints email address, I just called the Customer Service centre, and it's not operational outside office hours - what if there's an emergency? NOT happy.
