I received the best spa treatment. However, this spa offered me the worst communication and hassle in making a booking. It was a headache to make a booking due to them not answering calls not being answered, emails not being answered and having to resort to a WhatsApp which also had a delay. I then received such a late date due to delayed response. When you arrive at the spa, there are two young ladies sitting at reception and not assisting guests. The same lady that did my spa treatment is the same lady that has to run around and ensured that I received my entitled treats pre and post my spa treatment. While these two young ladies are sitting at receipting doing nothing but look at each other and not work. I have been to this particular spa many times before this is was the worst service and unfair treatment and underwhelming. Highlight disappointed.

What a disappointing experience. The treatment room is grubby curtains falling off rail untidy floor marked and skirtings rotten.Staff are unfriendly .No welcome tea provided as advertised but given on departure when I questioned this. The****** has long nails which just doesnt work when doing a massage! Treatment time was nowhere near the hour it should have been. The most un professional and disappointing spa booking ever and this was a thank you gift from someone - how do I tell her it was awful!

Sadly chose Avara to treat my friend for her birthday. It was the worst spa experience, and nothing close to how they present themselves on social media. No proper welcome, nor any introduction or explanation of how things work and what we should expect. The state of the room is shocking - dirty floor and windows, curtains not hanging properly, brooms hidden in plain sight and wires all tangled in the one corner. Despite the state of the room, we decided we'd give it a try, but in hindsight I wish I'd asked for my money back and left immediately (I'd unfortunately paid beforehand). The music randomly cuts out all the time - sometimes for minutes on end - which is disruptive. And the massage bed squeaks loudly...to the point that I found it difficult to focus on anything else. I asked twice if something could be done to minimize the squeaking, but the the******'s response was "it's the pressure". There's also a clock in the room that you can hear ticking away the entire time. There's no restroom, nor did anyone explain what the protocol is should one need to go to the restroom - it's a separate part of the building, so you either need to go in your gown (it was freezing cold) or get dressed mid spa day; either way, it's completely impractical. On arrival, we were given forms to complete, with the option to add on treatments. I selected an additional treatment, but the the****** didn't even bring it up, and I could've asked but by the end of our experience I didnt want to, I just wanted to be done. I hope this review saves someone the disappointment and frustration we unfortunately experienced.

Welcoming: Did not receive a friendly welcoming to the spa. The girl who opened the door did not say welcome to the Life Day Spa and did not confirm what we are booked in. We called when we were at the door so she knew exactly who we were and could've addressed us on our names. Consent forms: I went to the desk to ask for the consent forms since no one come to bring it in the waiting area. Girl on reception said that they are out of it but she will print now. The****** comes and place it down on the table. Not introducing herself neither explaining the form. Treatment room: Completely dark with candles at the back and this is while you still have to get undressed. I'd preferred to have the light a bit dimmed so that one can still see in the room. No music in treatment room. Noise level and echo can be heard in treatment room. Bell and phone rang while having massage and the****** had to leave on both times. Room cold and was not asked if temperature was comfortable. Treatment: No welcome touch done. The****** keep on losing contact to fetch oil from the counter almost every 5 minutes. Only used warm oil on the back and rest of the body cold oil. The****** hands felt a bit rough. The****** nails way too long for doing a massage and scratched me and my partner had the same with his the******. Asked for shoulder focus and the****** did not at all. The****** did not go through consent form with us to confirm and discuss what we have written on the form. No rhythm and soothing flow to the massage, the****** does more fast effleurage movements, no movements used to break down tension. The****** not very skilled in massage does not focus pressure on muscle areas but instead on soft tissue areas. Spa facilities: Only thing we enjoyed. However had to wait for the sauna and steam to heat up as it was not switched on. Steam did not work or produced too little steam. Sauna and jacuzzi worked perfect. Enjoyed the pool. No water offered. Bathroom in changing room had no toilet paper. No shower caps and disposable underwear in the locker or changing room. No soap or shower gel in changing rooms. No towels in changing room and was not told prior to arrival that you need to bring this along. Check out: Payment was made and receptionist did not even greet properly did not say have a nice day further and did not ask how our experience was.

I’ve just been to the spa for a wax and it took 55 minutes for my half leg and there was no clean towels laid out to cover myself for the Hollywood wax. the waxing room was cold and unprepared and I wasl stuck here half naked getting the 2nd area waxed and freezing. The last time I was here there was also no clean towels or soap left for a shower after my massage in any bathrooms. Worst spa ever & still had to pay for poor service with a clueless receptionist making excuses.

I received a Wikideal voucher as a gift for a Spa experience at Avara Wellness Spa. The fine print stated that the deal was not valid on public holidays and would expire on 31 January 2018. I called during the first week of December 2017 to book an appointment only to be told that they were not booking Wikideals during the 'holidays' as they were servicing their inhouse clients. When I asked when they would be taking Wikideal bookings I was told that they were not sure, "maybe the middle of January". They reneged on their responsibilites in term of this deal after they already had their money. I reported them to Wikideals who charged me an admin fee to make sure that the voucher had not be redeemed and gave me no feedback on the outcome of their investigation into this matter. I await my refund from Wikideals.

<p>Can not believe i actually spent more money when i went there. there is nobody to guide you or to make you feel welcome. the main excuse was we too busy. my booking got messed up and there was no apology, i actually got treated like it was my fault. they refused to retouch my moms nails they had messed up which is highly unacceptable. the items/treatments were not even offered. good massage but worse service ever!</p>
