Most unprofessional service we’ve ever received. DO NOT have a function or wedding at Benguela. They went back on terms agreed upon at booking, then when we questioned this and provided proof, they just cancelled our wedding. All this 5 months before the wedding date. Above was also done in the most unprofessional manner via email, without escalating to appropriate seniors. The fact that they cancelled our special day, due to something they refused to adhere to, and giving up the entire event due to small change, are beyond us. This has causes sleepless nights and extra effort/expenses to try find new venue without losing our already paid for vendors. Very disappointed.

Upon arrival we were informed someone would assist us. We wanted to do wine tasting. After waiting for 20 mins and my partner informing the staff that someone would come and assist no one did. We then approached a waitress and they said they would come and assist us. After waiting another 10 mins we left. What appalling service I have received. I would not recommend anyone to go to this place.

Booked a week in advance for a wine and oyster pairing. They called us an hour before our arrival time to let us know they would only be able to help us an hour later than our booking because the kitchen only opens then. Got there, was informed they dont have oysters. Expressed our disappointment to a manager and was told they would make a plan to get oysters and that we would be able to do the pairing. Waited for 2 hours and when we asked when we could do the pairing, we were told that the manager left and that we wont be able to do the pairing and that the oysters would only be there at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Friends of ours that also booked in advance got there the same day at 2 and were told they dont have oysters. Management is bad, communication is awful and the attitudes of management is embarrassing.

Visited Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate, recent winner of the Cellar Door Experience of the Year award, with high expectations. Ordered two (different) glasses of MCC. To our dismay both glasses were flat. We complained and were given two fresh glasses. It was also flat! Their reply when we enquired ..... it was flat because they served it in the wrong type of glass!? Why was it served in those glasses? Who knows? It was clear they did not care. We left without the purchases we intended to make. Best cellar door experience .... we vote not so!
