Myself and my sister are deeply disappointed with the service of this hospital! Our late father was admitted to the hospital on the 13th July and died just three days afterwards on the 16th July. The doctor who was supposed to contact us to give us an update on my dad's situation/health never did so, even after we called the hospital to find out more. The doctor only contacted us to inform us that our dad had passed away. Also, the hospital was supposed to organize a video call so we could see our dad as we were not allowed in the hospital. That also never happened! Thus, in the days that my dad was in hospital were never learnt about his condition - whether it was deteriorating or improving. We have no idea what the last few days on our dad's life was like as he lay there. How tough it has been to make peace with the situation and of course dealing with my dad's death. I cannot understand how a hospital can resort to this kind of thing - telling the family that the doctor will contact them and organizing a time for a video call and then not following it through!! How stressful for the family. At least my dad could have seen us children. To make matters worse he was very confused and disorientated while there so who knows what was going through his mind. Maybe he wondered why my sister and myself were not coming to visit him. Maybe he even thought that we didn't care when in fact we longed for him to come back home. Of course he never did come home again sadly.

My mom received the best care at this hospital. She was sent to Brackengate Hospital after being diagnosed with COVID-19 pneumonia. The doctors were great especially Dr. De Bruyn who she could not speak enough about. All the staff was always friendly, patient, and helpful, and genuinely cared about the wellbeing of the patients. She was only there for 3 days but said because of the great service and care she received, she wished she could've stayed longer.

I am writing this review with a broken heart but warm and grateful spirit! My dad was admitted at the bracken gate hospital late July and was there till early August. On the 5th of August my dad passed away after a massive fight for his life. While he was there he was cared for in a very satisfying and beautiful manner. There is a lady working there that NEEDS TO BE KNOWN TO THE PUBLIC, for her kindness, her humanity, her crystal clear heart and soul and for being a perfectly positioned - extension of our family in the hospital there. Her name is ANGELINA SOLOMONS! This woman is an ANGEL! she works in admin. She would go over and above her duties and cared for my dad's soul in a child like manner EVERYDAY! Although my dad didn't make it alive out of there, we as a family was at ease knowing he was in good hands. She went down and prayed with him and for him, encouraging him to keep fighting, reminding him that we miss and love dad and that we're waiting! We laid my dad to rest this passed Saturday and on behalf of our family we want to THANK HER FROM THE DEEP BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS! We are at ease and peace Thank you also to DR Khusche for her constant updates/feedback, Transparency and brutal honesty with us at all times - You are the real definition and example of a good doctor, One I will always tell my children about! Warm love and Regards Vanana Family

I have just been discharged from Brackengate hospital for self-isolation at home having contracted Covid 19. A big thank you to all doctors, nurses, porters, cleaners, and everybody involved in this battle against an invisible enemy. Your efforts and teamwork under very trying circumstances is truly remarkable and makes me a very humble and proud South African. Thank you all (and New Somerset Hospital personnel) so much.

Hello Peter, the reason I'm writing is because my mom passed away on the 31/12/2020 from covid19 and it's really hard for the family because we are grieving with the loss of our Pillar and rock but now we want to lay her to rest peaceful, but my problem that angers me is that the doctors at the hospital is telling us that we can't see the body to get closure or to make sure if it is my moms body, they want us to go on their word! The thing is we can't go on just a word of people we don't even know and they expect us to trust them just like that, our mom died in that hospital all alone with no loved ones by her side because we trusted them to take care of her....there is a lot of body switch and mistakes happening and the family is just asking to view and make sure if that is our mom body and not someone else..... The law stated on news 24 that one or two people are allowed to view the body at the hospital to make sure it is our relative so why are they denying us that peace of mind and closure.... please help me as soon as you can because we are supposed to cremate her this coming Saturday...we are going back to the hospital tomorrow morning again to try again for the 3rd time. Please help me and my family find closure.
