Scores reflect the Overall AI Score for each category
Based on recent customer reviews, Capfin is facing significant customer experience challenges across nearly every service touchpoint. Customers consistently describe unauthorized debits, refund delays, harassment from call centres, and a broken DebiCheck mandate process. While a small number of customers praise efficient service and helpful agents, the overwhelming pattern points to systemic billing, communication, and credit reporting failures that are damaging trust and credit profiles.

Based on recent customer reviews, Capfin is facing significant customer frustration across nearly every service dimension. Customers consistently describe unauthorized debit orders, broken refund processes, unresponsive consultants, and credit bureau reporting failures. A small number of positive reviews mention efficient loan disbursement and helpful service, but these are heavily outweighed by complaints about harassment calls, expired DebiCheck mandates, and settlement disputes.
The most common complaint about Capfin, based on Hellopeter's AI analysis of recent customer reviews, is Customer Service & Professional Guidance. Customer Service & Professional Guidance (1.3). Customers describe consultants as rude, dismissive, and unhelpful, naming agents like Sinethemba, Michelle, Candic, Elroy, and Sharon negatively. Supervisors are reportedly unavailable, calls are dropped, and agents fail to take ownership of queries from start to finish.

I changed my debit order date with capfin from 25 to 28 as my pay date changed yet capfin still debited me in 25th and now I have to incure additional bank charges for unpaid debit orders and a bad profile with ITC

Initially, my experience with Capfin was very good, and up until I fell into arrears, I had no complaints regarding their service. Unfortunately, I was retrenched and immediately made contact with Capfin to explain my situation. I advised the consultant that I could provide my retrenchment letter and asked what assistance or arrangements could be made under the circumstances. However, I received little to no support or guidance during this difficult period, and eventually my account was handed over. What I find extremely frustrating is that the attorneys/brokerage now handling the account refuse to allow me to settle the outstanding balance unless I agree to a debit order arrangement. I am both willing and ready to settle the account, but I do not agree to being forced into a debit order. I cannot understand why they cannot simply provide me with the banking details and a reference number so that I can make payment directly myself. Consumers should have the right to choose their preferred payment method, especially when they are making a genuine effort to resolve the matter. The lack of flexibility and unwillingness to assist someone who proactively communicated their financial hardship has been very disappointing. What started as a positive experience has unfortunately turned into a frustrating and stressful one.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service from Capfin. Last December, I submitted all required documents after being informed I was under debt review, yet after five months, my name and number remain on that list. Despite multiple calls, the contact number they provided is unreachable. This lack of resolution and communication has been deeply frustrating.

I had some queries about my account and Sisipho from Capfin explained everything so clearly. She was so patient with me. Absolutely lovely lady.

I called Capfin to alert them of the late payment for March. I told them that my salary will be paid late and they will receive payment after the 10th of April. Now it's May the payment for April they received as I promised. My credit score has gone down by 15 points because of that. I called Capfin asking them to fix this problem and they are telling me to speak to the credit bureaus about that but they fully knowingly it is them who send that information after I arranged with them

To Management, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a gross failure in service and the subsequent unauthorized debiting of my account. In March, I reached a verbal agreement with one of your agents to settle my remaining balance (approximately R300–R400). I specifically requested a manual payment link for March 28th. This request was ignored, and since then, my account has been subject to unauthorized interest charges. Today, R737.43 was debited from my account without my consent. I demand: 1. An immediate refund of the ********ly debited amount. 2. A recording/transcript of my March conversation with your agent. 3. A call from a senior manager today, as requested repeatedly throughout April. Be advised that if this is not resolved immediately, I will escalate this matter to the relevant Ombudsman and pursue legal action to protect my rights.
