This restaurant ruined my birthday. We booked on the 10th of march for the 14th of March (birthday dinner). Around 2 i called to confirm that we're coming at 5pm. Since we were traveling from Pietermaritzburg to durban with the kids we got there late. Lady at the reception told us our booking was cancelled because we're late, so my question was why didn't they call us to let us know about cancelation cz they did call us in the morning asking if we were still coming. She said we were suppose to tell them we were running late. I asked her what should happen cause it's was my birthday that's why we had to travel to Durban to celebrate with my family. She then called a manager that's was on duty. The manager was very rude and Raccist, he had an attitude, didn't show any remorse, i nearly cried the way he handled the situation and told me there's nothing they can because they've already canceled our booking. I then asked the manager again what should happen because it was my birthday. He then rep**** with an attitude telling me "there's nothing they can do" like really on my birthday? With my kids and hubby? I'm so so disappointed about your staff and service Birthday dinner was ruined

Had a booking for my mom and myself for lunch on the 21st of June. Despite asking whether they had wheelchair-access (yes, I understand the renovations), they ensured us it would be fine and if not, we could still go through the semi-construction site to enter through the bottom entrance. On the morning, I phoned again to confirm. The lady answering the phone (Hlengiwe) said they cannot accommodate a wheelchair and that's that. No trying to make a plan. Nothing. Also put the phone down in my ear when transferring to the general manager (Robbie). Robbie phoned back, explaining we can come through. We hesistantly did. When inside, we ordered Appeltiser and a lemonade which they gave us on the house for the inconvenience. We only ordered starters. Luckily! Food was sub-standard. When we almost finished eating, another family was hosted right next to us with loud and unruly children. Making constant noise and disturbing the guests. According to your policies, children need to behave and respect other guests. McDonalds is across the street. Why are unruly children allowed in a so-called 'fine dining' establishment, yet persons in wheelchairs are discriminated against. When asking the waiter where the manager is, it was stated he was now out for the day. This type of establishment has no place in South Africa. They are clearly above the Constitution of South Africa. I suggest UShaka Marine World relooks at the management and ownership of this restaurant and it's so-called policies.

The family and I made a booking at Ushaka Cargo hold for a table of 3 in the evening positioned next to the tank. We booked for the 14 November 2023. I would like to express my gratitude to the Chef and team at this restaurant. The Chef was extremely friendly and polite together with his staff. It was my wife's birthday, and they did not hesitate to make our experience special. The atmosphere of being under the ocean, surrounded by beautiful marine life, really was a tick of the bucket list. To be dining whilst enjoying large sharks swimming past was incredible. The food was exquisite and really had that fine dining feel. From the presentation to the delicious taste and portion size, it was worth every penny. Thanks once again to the Chef for going out of his way to ensure we were comfortable. We will definitely see you guys again, when we celebrate our next special occasion, or maybe even sooner as my little one thoroughly enjoyed himself.

My review on cargo hold isn't even worth 1 star .The service was terrible and my order was done incorrectly. the worst tasting steak no taste horrible !!!rather eat paper . The waiter didn't even come and check on us. I had to keep calling for other waiters,the funny part was we ordered starters but our main meals came out first and then the starters came!!!! the manager is a rude guy with no customer service what so ever which is why his staff are like that as well. He had a problem with another customer who was also complaining about the service and their food. The manager was arguing with the customer in front of everyone and the restaurant had a lot of people . He didn't even come and apologized to us about our meals as we did go there for my birthday. We couldn't even have dessert there as we were refused service . Even when we walked in he was very rude i greeted him and he just said "i was late and i would have given your table away" didn't even let us explain that we went to the wrong entrance . The staff and manger there need training as they lack it 100%. Very disappointing . This was my 2nd time there and after my experience 4 /01/2022 ill never recommend going there.

My review on cargo hold isn't even worth 1 star .The service was terrible and my order was done incorrectly. the worst tasting steak no taste horrible !!!rather eat paper . Ordered 3 meals for my family. All meals were prepared way below average. The mozambican Chilli prawns were tasted terrible, the worst I had ever eaten. The crumbled calamari and line fish had literally no taste.

I have been there a few times for the crayfish and they always out of stock. I was so excited to book for father's day because when i called to make a booking they assured me they had crayfish. When i arrived they say they are sold out on an occasion such as father's day. I Am utterly dissatisfied and highly annoyed with a restaurant that supposed to be a fish restaurant they have nothing to offer and ruined my lunch. The waiter was really friendly and apologetic however when they call to make sure you attending they should have the decency to inform you they don't have half the menu available.
