I would like to express our complete frustration with regards to CK car hire. The first car we were given we couldn't drive as it kept stalling The Lady on Wed attempted to assist and replaced with another car. All they did is replace one problem with another. If you look at the Odometer readings you will see that on car 1, it was from Ck car hire to our residence, the next day my hubby used it for work but it keep stalling and the rest of the time it was Parked. Then he had to take it back and by the time he got to them there was even smoke coming out of the engine and the R500 he put in for petrol was gone. The 2nd car he said felt like the gearbox was going to fall out . Didn't drive it Thursday and took it back Friday. Once again it cost us petrol and then he had to Uber back only to find out ubers don't come your side so he paid a private transport guy to get home. Another cost. So in theory this rental has not only been a complete waste of time but also cost us money. We have been told refunds will take 14 days which is also bull****. Pity we didnt read all your reviews before hiring a car otherwise we would have seen you give unroadworthy cars to rent. (Which i am sure is *******) I made an immediate payment and expect all costs and deposit to be refunded to me in the normal 3 to 5 days . I understand the md was on leave but quite frankly not my problem. The Md also doesn't know how to respond to customer and won't refund me even when the car has been returned to them 10 days ago already and keeps saying as per contract refunds take 14 working days. My argument is contract or no contract, CK car hire has not fulfilled their side of the Contract as they provided unsafe and unroadworthy cars. I want my refund and I want someone to go and inspect their cars and close them down.. Not safe at all I have email correspondence and WhatsApp of our complaints and happy to share

I am very unhappy with this company. I rented a 2009 Polo for R7 000 and, upon receiving the car, noticed that the oil was leaking. They checked and said that someone had put in too much oil but assured me it was fine. However, no one ever followed up on the issue, and the oil continued dripping for the entire month that I had the vehicle. The car was collected on 1 September, and I had paid a R3 900 deposit. From that, I only received R2 000 back. Some of the deductions may be fair, but nearly R300 for cleaning”, another R300 for admin, and R500 for stickers I removed after asking for permission. To make matters worse, I only received my deposit back on 19 September — which is unacceptably long. The staff are extremely rude and clearly do not know how to deal with customers.

We hired a car with CK car rental and scheduled for Saturday. When we got to Malmesbury from Cape town. These horrible and rude people were no where to be found PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WERE USING PUBLIC TRANSPORT. Our calls were ignore PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ALREADY PAID EVERYTHING AS THE COMPANY SEEMED TO BE GENUINE. When they decided to answer our calls they told us to come back on Monday because they are out of town, we stood there like lost people and anything could have happened to us and they did not care. These ****mers DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS THEY ARE BIG PRETENDERS AND ****MERS. These people were so RUDE, we begged them for something we didn't do all because we wanted to go back to cape Town with the car we paid for. They refused to assist. CK CAR HIRE is a **** please DONT USE THEM. You will regret. I sent them letters of demand they ignore everything. These people owe us R10 300 and they not paying it back infact they don't want to pay it back (for a car we didn't even use). THEY DONT PAY YOUR MONEY BACK, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NEVER USE THIS **** COMPANY. This happened in Jan 2024

This is a follow-on to my previous post. I haven't heard from CK Car Hire or Nadia Viljoen. There are still no funds deposited into my bank account even though I gave them a chance to correct their wrong. It's blatantly obvious that they think they are above the law to rob people. I have now instituted legal action against them. They will NOT rob another person. In fact they should not be trading.

On the 25th July 2025, I hired a car from them for a month and paid them R6000 for the rental plus R3900 for the deposit. Upon returning the car on the 25th of August before noon, I was told that my deposit of R3900 would be paid back within 14 working days. I have been given the runabout and my emails went unanswered. Yesterday I received an email from their Director, Nadia Viljoen that sent me an invoice stating R290 for Admin fee, R280 for a car wash and R3500 for using the car after 12 at night. Mind you, I was advised upon collection by Marikie that I am getting an unwashed car and I will not be billed for it, she wrote this on my contract. I was never advised that the vehicle can't be driven after 12am. I requested Nadia's mobile number and was told they are not allowed to give out her number. The only means of contacting her is via a Gmail account.

I hired a vehicle from CK Car Hire for four months, always paid on time, and returned the car in good condition. Despite this, they are now ********ly withholding my deposit and fabricating additional charges after the return of the vehicle. Throughout my rental, I was given multiple vehicles with mechanical issues — three times — and treated with blatant disrespect. The Managing Director, Nadia Viljoen, has shown consistent discriminatory and unprofessional behavior. It is hard not to conclude that the way I was treated was rooted in racial bias. No one — regardless of race — deserves to be exploited or disrespected like this. I urge others, especially Black customers, to think twice before doing business with CK Car Hire. This kind of conduct has no place in South Africa in 2025. I will be taking this further through every legal and consumer protection channel available to me.

I was ****med from my deposit of R3900 they created more descriptions to the invoice so that I didn't get my R3900. When I received car it wasn't working properly yet you pay for the days the car stands and wait for their mechanic. The day we dropped the car we had no way home the admin lady was so cold just no heart. I was stranded being pregnant with 2 kids they didn't care yet was a loyal customer. Don't use this company you won't get your money back and they have very old unreliable cars

Baie dankie vir jul wonderlike diens. Ek het n Nissan micra vir 3 maande gehuur. Julle pryse die beste van almal waar ek kwotasies gekry het. Asook geen probleem met my deposito se terug betaling nie. Alles is mooi duidelik in ****rak gesit en geen fyn skrif nie. Alle reels is ook groot in Jul kantoor opgeplak. Baie maklik om te volg as mens net lees! Ek sal jul oral aanbeveel!
