A Highly Disappointing and Unprofessional Stay
A Highly Disappointing and Unprofessional Stay My weekend stay at Crystal Rose Lodge and Spa was unfortunately a significant disappointment, especially considering the price we were charged. The service and attention to detail were severely lacking, leading to a frustrating and stressful experience rather than a relaxing one. Major Concerns Regarding Health, Safety, and Service Our primary issues centered on unacceptable failures in both the dining and spa services. 1. Expired Food and Ignored Allergies: Upon being served, I was given expired yogurt. This is a serious health and safety concern. Even more troubling was the complete disregard for a pre-notified health condition. I had informed the receptionist twice about a severe egg allergy, yet this vital information was never passed on to the kitchen. As a result, I was unable to eat the breakfast provided. When I spoke to the manager about these issues, she was completely unwilling to take accountability and offered no apology or credit for the meal I was unable to have. 2. Unprofessional and Painful Spa Service: The massage I received was arguably the worst part of the experience. The the****** was completely unprofessional and inattentive. During the head massage, she repeatedly pulled my hair, so much so that an entire bundle came out. I told her to stop on three separate occasions, but she seemed completely aloof and ignored my requests. I left the session feeling more stressed and tense than when I arrived. In stark contrast, the the****** who worked with my husband was highly professional and accommodating, which shows a significant inconsistency in staff training. 3. Inattentive Waitstaff: The lack of professionalism extended to the dining room staff as well. On multiple occasions, waiters bent over our drinks on the table to take our food orders, which is an unhygienic and unprofessional practice. In conclusion, the numerous failures in customer service, from the health risks associated with the expired food and ignored allergy to the completely unprofessional massage and waitstaff, made for a very poor experience. I cannot recommend this establishment to others and would advise potential guests to be cautious.

Totally accommodating staff
The staff were amazing. From the receptionist to restaurant staff and ladies at spa, everybody made sure that our stay was something to remember. They went out of their way to accommodate our special requests-one vegetarian, one dealing with cancer diagnosis. The chef in particular came out to us to ask for our preferences. The only downside was that when showering in the morning, the water was lukewarm. However the owner provided us with keys to a vacant room for us to shower. Will definitely recommend to anybody wanting a relaxing weekend away.

Spectacular
I had the most Amazing Experience at Crystal Rose Lodge. The food is Absolutely Delicious. The Spa Treatments was just fantastic and the Staff and Owners are the Most Hospitable and amazing people. Their service was beyond Super Amazing. I would Definitely Recommend them to anyone. It is just a Fantastic Experience. By Far my Best Weekend Getaway.

Spectacular
I had the most Amazing Experience at Crystal Rose Lodge. The food is Absolutely Delicious. The Spa Treatments was just fantastic and the Staff and Owners are the Most Hospitable and amazing people. HORRIBLE MOTHER's DAY EXPERIENCE!!
What you offer on your web site: “Our Day Spa located in Johannesburg’s Cradle Of Humankind, offers a variety of luxurious and relaxing experiences for all spa enthusiasts. Our Day Spa is a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, where you can indulge yourself in our popular, affordable spa packages for couples, friends, and overnight stays. Don’t miss out on our regularly released Spa Specials that are tailored to meet all your relaxation needs. Our Spa Specials offer you an opportunity to indulge yourself in our relaxing gardens, serene water features, and friendly staff.” What my Daugther and I experienced yesterday was a cacophony of noise from rowdy, noisy, loud, obnoxious, overbearing “African guests” (“We are African we are loud” response from one of the females when asked to tone it down….). The food was bland, the “fresh garden vegetables” came out of a frozen vegetable bag and were soggy and overcooked and the hake was dry. There was NOTHING “relaxing”, there was NO ESCAPE from the hustle and busle, and there was NO TAILORED RELAXATION NEEDS MET. Three (3) couples MOVED OUT OF THE DINING ROOM to GET AWAY from the loud obnoxious crowd because we COULD NOT HEAR one another speak across the little table between us. I shall also post this on Hallo Peter and EVERY other site I can to make sure that everyone knows that Crystal Rose ONLY caters for loud and obnoxious “indigenous customers” and that there is NOTHING RELAXING about the way one is treated and it is a complete waste of money so STAY AWAY!!!!

Underwhelming!
Probably the most underwhelming facility we have ever experienced. The room was tiny, bed uncomfortable, shower didn’t work so we had to use the hand shower. My wife booked 2 nights and a full day spa treatments. The treatments didn’t last longer than 4 hours including all the breaks. On a positive note however the Manageress Anne-Marie was fantastic. Friendly and extremely accommodating. Food was good and the ladies from the Spa were very friendly particularly Thandi
