I had my nails done on the 1/03/2025 @ the mount edgecombe branch by Kiasha . Very friendly but clearly the skill was lacking, the nail tech had just app**** my nail tips and then two of them broke. She had to do a soak off for those two and redo them. I was charged an amount of R440 . My nails looks as though it had been done by a person who was just practicing. The glue was absolutely thick and had a lifted look. I had to settle for a colour because the nail tech had said to me that the option I opted for was finished. Please don't go get your nails done there. I had mine soaked off today and gosh the damage is horrific! Rather go to a place that used salon quality products and have salon quality staff that can perform salon quality tasks ie applying nails correctly .

These ladies know how to cut hair. When you explain what you want, they listen and you get what you want. Also get discount for pensioners which we need in this day and age. Would recommend to all ladies. They are situated in the Hillary Mall, Stella Road, Hillary Durban.

I am very disappointed because I went to a salon called deMala in Mt Edgecombe Plaza. Asking to do a Micro Keratin hair treatment. The reception told me that all the staff are well trained and qualified to do the treatment. So I ask her how much it was. She rep**** she would go and ask her Manager. On return she said I am sorry and that they dont do ethnic hair. I am still upset because we in life are suppose to be in a non ****** country? But how is it possible for one to turn a customer away?! I would of said sorry my main lady isn't in to help u call and make an appointment with her when she is back from sick leave. Something like that .

Simple highlights gone wrong. What an awful and disappointing experience. No strategic management, expect to waste at least over 4hours and a further 45min. With the hope you will come out looking to exactly what you asked for. You being respectful, yet taken for granted, it’s all about attending to everyone with the easy requests and you waiting longer. I did not receive the highlights I wanted instead was said sorry we will do this again, and we wait again. There is no courtesy to clients. Very disappointing when business brought via all your family members.

Had a terrible haircut at Perfect Touch Gateway, went to De Mala's at the Phoenix Plaza to get it fixed. Flora Rajgopaul is the ultimate hair "Fixer". She brought the spark back in my life by fixing my hair. Can't thank her enough for the professional service always, and the amazing talent she has with her scissors! She has fixed my hair more than once when other so called hairdressers mess it up.

I was falsely accused by the owner as she contacted me via whatsap and accused my mum and I of laughing and mocking her clients and staff also running her salon down . These allegations are false ! I have been a loyal client since 2015 and I spend alot at that salon, despite the mishaps in the past , she had the odasity to falsely accuse me .if they was not doing a good job on my hair why would I frequent that salon and allow them to utilise my pictures on their facebook page! This is a terrible salon as you will go in from 7h55 till 14h50 to have hair color and the moment you have few laughs with people you meet at the salon or with your parent ....it is alleged that you are mocking staff or clients ! If they have insecurities it is not my problem I have the right to laugh or talk to anyone I like ....she should not accuse me of such by listening to hear say stories....I am not the customer who ask for discount or anything of the sort what ever price they quote me is what I pay ! I am highly annoyed I have been a client since 2015 despite their mishaps in the past . She has accused my mum of interfering with a hair dryer when my mum asked for assistance as a child complained that it was getting too hot ! Under no circumstances have my mum and I laughed at clients or her staff....I had a certain stylist that I frequent and my question is ....is that salon there to do hairstyles or monitor whose laughing ....it clearly sounds like a kinder garten place as the owner had to call and falsely accuse my mum and I! I'm a strong believer to base accusations with evidence even in the court of law it is required to have evidence!

Good day, To Whom it May Concern. Went in to De’Mala hair salon in Mount Edgecombe, Durban on 24th September for hair colour. Upon waiting for the colour to take on my hair – the salon almost became a call centre where I was told about all the skin care products and hair products in the store. Told the lady that I was not interested – she then said its ok but I’ll leave all the products here in front of you… almost wishing I would change my mind. She then said that I had to buy a shampoo and conditioner from them as my hair was really damaged – so I asked how much it was and she said that they were R250 for both. Carried on with the treatment – I said I was thinking about growing my hair then the hair grower oil came out – she was really trying to sell their products. Got to the till to pay and she reminded me about the shampoo and conditioner so I took it – felt very pressured at this point. My bill came to R1710. Asked them for a print out as I was rushing and abit baffled about that total amount. Got home to realise that I have this Shampoo and Conditioner at home – and checked the receipt, they charged me R255 each – which I was not told when I queried the price, maybe the word both for her meant each…? I don’t know! I called this morning which is less than 24 hours since I left the salon and was told that it is company policy that they cannot return or refund the products. The money isn’t the issue – I will not be using these products. So I called the manager of their main branch in Phoenix, Durban and she told me that she will contact her boss and get back to me, she didn’t! Instead, she got the stylist that did my hair to call me and let me know that they will NOT be refunding me. I haven’t opened these products, I have not used these products and as mentioned before its less than 24 hours that I contacted the store. They did not mention to me verbally that there are no refunds or returns – I did not notice any signs up in the salon either. As a consumer I have rights and I believe that if the products have been untouched and returned within an acceptable time frame then the consumer is entitled to a full refund. Please could I have your kind assistance. Thank you so much. Kind regards, Resane Bhagalu

My sister and I got our nails done on Friday in De Mala Salon Mount Edgecombe. It's been two days and our nails are already falling off. I do not understand how acrylic nails can fall off so easily. What kind of low quality products are they using and over charging people ? I am disgusted.
