Terrible service, they do not care for their guests. My car got hit by their 'regular' around wee hours of the morning. The guard let him go without getting enough details from the driver, now he won't answer his phone. The hotel managent won't help with anything, nobody is going to take responsibility yet the guard asked silly questions when we told her what she should have done. Mr Zuma the manager refused to give us the owners number. Even Mr. Zuma was alerted around 6 p.m for something that happened around 4a.m. I was also not alerted on time, had I not left the room at 11 I don't know if they were going to find out who the owner of the car is. Their service is so terrible that when the incident happened, they couldn't report to me as they didn't ask for the car registration number at check in. They said the guy is their "regular" but they couldn't get him to answer his phone, I tried him also with no luck, now I'm on my way own because there's "park at own risk" disclaimer.

Dear Emakhosini Boutique Hotel Team, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally express my frustration and disappointment regarding the lack of assistance I have received from your establishment following a recent booking and subsequent cancellation. I had booked three rooms at your hotel via Bookings.com (Reservation Booking: 5898) and contacted your team telephonically to inquire about the process for including dinner in the reservation. I was advised accordingly and sent banking details via WhatsApp, after which I made a payment of R2,700.00 to cover dinner for the three rooms over the course of three nights. Unfortunately, upon arrival at your premises, the three gentlemen who were meant to stay at the hotel requested to be moved to a different establishment. As a result, I had to cancel the booking and was advised by your reception desk to process the cancellation through Bookings.com, which I did. On Monday 06 October 2025, I contacted your hotel to request a refund of the R2,700.00 paid for dinner. To date, I have not received any assistance. Each time I call, I am either told that Mr. Peter Kweyama (the manager) is not available or that I should contact the accountant directly, which I believe is not my responsibility as a customer. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of accountability and follow-through from your team. I trusted your establishment to handle this matter professionally, and the continued delays and lack of communication are unacceptable. I kindly request that the full amount of R2,700.00 be reimbursed without further delay. I trust that this matter will now be treated with the urgency and professionalism it deserves. Kind regards, Tshiamo Mashabela 076 227 2324

We booked this venue for our son's birthday and were horrified at the substandard level of service. 1. The mic was not working and only resolved more than 1.5 hours after our function should have started 2. The bar inside the function was set up more than 1 hr after the function was supposed to start 3. The veg dish (Asian stir fry with noodles) was not included with the food. I had to speak to the chef who was completely confused. Then later when he looked at the list he said it must have been delivered to the other function. It was finally brought to the function more than an hr later by which time the guests had completed eating and it was returned untouched. 4. 2 jugs of juice were paid for per table. Only 1 per table was delivered and then not to all tables 5. There was an issue with the power. The Dj was inoperable for some time – our guests had to try and resolve the problem. 6. We were advised that only the venue’s DJ could be used and paid for same. However this was not the resident DJ – just someone asked to stand in. He had a poor choice of music, could not handle the sound equipment issues and our guests had to step in. 7. Our functions started almost 2 hours after the scheduled time. 8. The main bar was filthy, with boxes, coffee cups, etc on top. We had to instruct the staff to clean up. The first two hours we the parents spent running after the manager and staff who were completely confused and ***********.

I booked a room in Emakhosini Boutique Hotel and Conference Center on Sunday afternoon via Agoda, a Booking.com affiliate. I specifically requested a double bed and a spacious room on my reservation. I also opted to pay on arrival and I did so using a debit card. The receptionist took me to a room that looked like a garden-shed that had 2 single beds joined together. I insisted on at least getting a bigger bed as per request made on my reservation but I was told none of the rooms have bigger beds. Aside from the fact that I was really tired and needed to rest, I was now really frustrated because it seemed as if no effort was made to prevent me from canceling my reservation at point in time. The receptionist told me that the hotel manager was unreachable on weekends when I requested a refund which was denied but she assured me that it will be processed the following morning. I emailed my banking details but up to this point I haven't received my refund. Whenever I call the hotel I'm either told that the manager hasn't opened her emails or busy in a meeting. The level of service that I've received is below any I have ever received on all my travels. I wouldn't recommend anyone to use this hotel.

I’ve been going there for years and I was happy. My recent trip was a terrible experience. The staff were good as they assisted me when travelling for 6 hours. The bed has soap still stained on it. The shower tap had to be put back in constantly when opening as it would just fall out. I’m extreme disappointed with my experience now and I can officially say that my annual visit at Emakhosini has been ended.

I made a booking at this hotel in February and paid a deposit of R1700. The hotel got hold of me and they told me that their hotel is going to be used as a quarantine,so they had to cancel all the booking and refund all the people. Since then I have been going from pillar to post for 2months for me to get my refund which I never go it to date. I am kindly asking hello Peter to help me on this on as I'm in Pretoria and the hotel is in Durban and the don't respond to my emails. Regards Velly Nhlonipho
