First resort man can you explain why room would show as available and once booking is confirmed and paid for, only to be told that a booking failed. So a manager at the Magalies one tells me this is a loophole in your system and it can allow multiple people to book the same room. I find this unacceptable for this issue to left like this as this is very misleading to customers. Or is this how you operate to secure bookings so that you can offer postponement? Wonder also how you decide who you give the booking to? So despicable to say the least.

On arrival we as owners of unit 314, from 1-8Jan now for at least the last 15 years, got informed that our unit is already rented out to someone else, we are actually the owners of this unit!!! They pushed us into a very small unit, we own a studio x on the front beach. Just told us sorry nothing they can do about it, they already rented out our unit without any compensation, will take it virther. Dont trust management, something is very offfff!!!!!

I made 2 bookings and asked in advance if both bookings could be joined as it is continuing also we old and don't want to drive far to the main area. I just booked in to be told I must move again tomorrow to a unit extremely far to walk. The lady from reservations calls me and tells me that they had discussions yesterday and they cant help me. to top it of she tells me that I WILL MOVE. She is literally demanding that I will move. I booked directly with Magalies Park resort and this is not my first time here. I have NEVER had such horrible experience. My short stay is all about packing and unpacking. The booked a spa treatment tomorrow morning as well because I was not suppose to be unpacking again to move rooms. Nobody called me in advance to tell me they cannot assist me. but called in this week again and this morning to confirm that I was surely coming to check in.

I’ve been at La Montagne Ballito for about a week, the most horrible guest experience of my adult life. The guest relations is horrible, the staff is rude and unhelpful, let’s not even start with the badly maintained rooms. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!

Thank you Kerry and Sihle for your time, hospitality, kindness and effort in hosting the bring and braai. @Tembi - thank you for checking on us daily making sure that everything was neat and tidy. @Vumani - you have been spectacular.. Please people take note First Resort Margate Sands is a horrible place to invest in, the body corporate maked decision as it pleases them ignores decisions of owners with points, there is never accommodation available at the places you want to go even if you try and book accommodation 1 year in advance, units at the Sands are dirty please follow link to view video https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1CvCsmNczB/ Now decision wants to made without proper explanation of what the outcomes of the decision will be, chose one of two options you will be notified after the 5 of December what your decision means. Very poor customer service. From my end a lawyer will be contacted and a letter from him will be send to Margate Sands.

I am currently staying at the La Montagne Resort in Ballito and to say I am disappointed is a huge understatement!!!!!! This has got to be the noisiest resort I have ever stayed in!!!! The sounds of banging and drilling are constant!!! The cleaning and maintenance staff are also extremely loud from early in the morning.Complaining about this falls on deaf ears😡 The room we are staying in is scruffy-the curtains are dirty, the cupboards have damp and mould and there is hardly any packing space for clothes. Over and above this, the resort allows droves of day visitors to come in. For the paltry sum of R125, anyone can come and use any of the resort’s facilities which are meant for paying guests!!!! Complaining about this also falls on deaf ears😡 Any complaint is met with the same response ie “ Terribly sorry for your inconvenience but we can’t/wont do anything to help you” The lack of any concern at all over whether the guests are happy or not is astounding!!!!!

We received correspondence on 4 August 2025 with regards to levy payment. We've been trying ever since to confirm that our requested unit (and week) has been booked successfully. We've used several different email addresses from First Resorts without any proper and meaningful feedback/confirmation. Furthermore, trying to book via the website is impossible… I’ve tried both from my PC and phone. We keep on getting errors about ‘onload’… screen shows “Loading” the whole time. “Error2025/08/08 19:10:13 An error occurred during onload.” We sent through Proof of Payment on 14 August already.
