I am deeply disturbed by the treatment I received at the Kauai in Sunninghill virgin active, Jhb. I habern purchasing a Smoothie every Sunday for over a year.. As I am not a gym member, I have to wait at the counter outside Kauai. The usual ladies Rose and Pilile were not present today. The new lady took my phone to scan for points and completely ignored me in attempts to retrieve my phone. My phone was out of site for more than 5 to 10 minutes and I could do nothing. I eventually got the Virgin active staff member to get the ladies to respond. Whilst the ladies laughing (ukhile, I think) at me was highly inppropriate, the real concern is what was the motive.

I’m a regular customer at Kauai Cradlestone Mall and usually have a great experience. The team is always friendly, welcoming, and does a really good job, which keeps me coming back. However, my experience with Seipati has been disappointing. She was shouting at me, and even when some staff members tried to speak to her, she continued and came across as rude and disrespectful. I hope this can be addressed, because the rest of the staff truly provide excellent service.

I’m a regular customer at Kauai Cradlestone Mall and usually have a great experience. The team is always friendly, welcoming, and does a really good job, which keeps me coming back. Another day, another disappointing experience at Kauai Menlyn Maine. It’s becoming very clear that there is a serious lack of control when it comes to both service and quality. There seems to be no visible management oversight, and it’s concerning to constantly see new staff who don’t appear properly trained. I’ve now had multiple occasions where I ordered a Peanut Butter Bomb (large smoothie), only to receive something that tastes completely watered down. For the premium price you pay at Kauai, this is simply unacceptable. There is little to no flavour, and it honestly makes you question what ingredients are actually being added — if any. I even tried to observe the preparation, and it didn’t look like much effort or care was going into it. On top of that, the service is extremely poor. I had to ask five times about my order, and still ended up waiting around 20 minutes. To make matters worse, customers who ordered after me received their food and drinks before I did. This level of inconsistency, poor quality, and lack of communication makes it very difficult to trust the brand. For what customers are paying, one expects far better standards and professionalism. I hope this issue is addressed urgently, as this is not the experience one expects from Kauai.

Your staff attitude is gonna be the downfall of this establishment in SA. They act like they are doing us a favour. The Kauai in Milpark is terrible. The staff had such a horrible attitude last week, despite my attempts to be friendly with them. What’s disheartening is that I saw how friendly with the white guy who bought before me so I'm not sure if it's about colour, gender or what because I'm a black girl. The worst part is that they are black women too. After this terrible service, I got a smoothie that I had to blend myself when I got home because it wasn't coming out of the straw. It was as if they’d mixed the ingredients in the cup with a straw and given it to me without using a blwnder. The smoothies at the Milpark branch are terrible compared to those at other branches, and my friends have confirmed it but the one I got last week was my final straw because I’m almost sure they did that on purpose. I’ll definitely be making my own smoothies at home after working out at the Milpark Virgin Active

I started working by Portside building recently and I really like Kauai however I've had so many bad experiences with a cashier named Bervery on her tag and on the slip it shows "Nosiphiwo" ...the first instance she gave me a ice coffee instead of berry milkshake I ordered, second instance I was being friendly to her not focusing on the past but she had a sticky attitude where when I felt like never going back to buy there again however I went again she ****d being friendly andthen make rude remarks when I walked away ...I really like the shop but that one employee is not so nice ...I don't have a problem with someone trying to do their job but being kind is free and won't cost her nothing ...I never reported it before because I didn't want her to be in trouble but my experience in that shop is becoming worse and worse each day ...I've never met someone so rude and full of bad attitude

Review of Kauia – Sunninghill Branch I am extremely disappointed with my recent visit to the Kauai store in Sunninghill. The attitude of the staff and the overall cleanliness of the store were unacceptable. My wife raised a concern about flies sitting on open food to the cashier, who simply ignored her. This lack of care for customer feedback was shocking. Even more disturbing was the hygiene in food preparation. I witnessed staff opening a 7kg bag of carrots and juicing them directly without washing or cleaning. The knife used to cut wraps and vegetables fell on the floor, was picked up, and used again without being washed. A carrot that fell on the floor was also fed straight into the juicer. This is highly unhygienic and unsafe, especially for a food establishment serving paying customers. Such practices show a complete disregard for basic food safety standards and customer health. I will not be returning to this branch, and I strongly urge Kauai management to address these serious hygiene issues immediately.
