1. Address change - on the first point of contact I was greeted by a very disinterested employee having to re-explain they have moved and are no longer in the Square hotel 2. arriving at the new premises - no signage posted and guard at boom is not very happy to sign customers in and explaining where to go 3. the entire hall way as you enter smells of old flavoured oil 4. making the booking - this took 45 minutes as the receptionist was not interested in answering my questions and made not effort on suggesting treatments or packages 5. treatment day - we were told to sit , there was not offer of tea, coffee, water, juice (this was only offered mid treatment to the other party and not me however could not accept as we were midway with a massage) whilst sitting in the reception you could see dirt on all the walls and immediately the sense of safety went out the door 6. treatment room - the windows do not close properly and you can hear the wind howling and all noises from outside (not a peaceful environment at all "room 4") the towels on the beds were old and weathered these are in desperate need to replacement 7. Treatment 1 - Swedish hot stone massage (what a a joke )had I known before hand that the girls are still training I would not have booked. The massage was not a massage the hot stones were garden size stones and where merely swished around on my back and I am in so much pain today due to improper pressure and no technique expressed. The Trainee took every opportunity she could to sit on the stool and only massage my feet. 8. Treatment 2 facial - was suppose to be a hydrating facial ending up being a double scrub (very painful) and mask, the so called mask was "Dove mens body lotion sample" that was app**** to my face ! I complained saying the product being used stinks please remove. there were also an express mani which consisted of my hands being scrubbed and a pedicure which was a foot wash and nail paint 9. the Toilet - oh goodness gracious no toilet paper, no hand soap and a thick black line of black mold on sink. We could not run away fast enough (mother's day gift ruined) thank you La Jour Day Spa you will not be forgotten. I suggest an immediate closure for health and safety reasons with a performance appraisal on each employee.

We had 4 of us booked in for the 5 senses package. On arrival, all the staff didn't seem interested at all in making us feel welcome and comfortable like we were there to enjoy a wonderful spa package that we were so looking for to. We were just told to take a seat and wait, None of us were offered tea, juice or water on arrival or whilst we waited. 3 of the ladies that did our treatments were absolutely wonderful and attentive during the treatments. The 4th lady unfortunately made my friend feel like he was an inconvenience to her. She gave him a massive eyeroll when he asked for clear nail polish which they both saw as it was very noticeable. They were shocked and uncomfortable by her attitude. She didn't communicate with him at all during the treatments and he didn't get his feet filed which he was also meant to recieve. All 4 of us didn't recieve the callus removal which was 1 of the treatments we paid for. Whilst having the treatments, 3 of us were offered no water or anything at all during the 2 and half hour treatments. The fruit platter and champagne was supposed to be served by the "beautiful" infinity pool over looking umhlanga... it wasn't... it was plonked next to us whilst having our pedicures, wrapped and not opened or poured. The outside was filthy and there was ******* everywhere, the pool was dirty and full of algae. The deck was flooding from the pool, the jacuzzi was non existent as was the sauna and steam room which were empty and full of junk. The website displays gorgeous pictures, but unfortunately it was incredibly disappointing and not what you would expect to experience from what you see and expect from the website. It's such a shame, as the venue has so much potential, but unfortunately, there is no up keep or care as it seems. Alot of money spent to be so disappointed as this was a very special occasion!

Makes me really sad to write this review. Booked the daddy’s deal spa package at the Medstone Medical Centre. The appointment started well, but once our treatment began, the ladies who were performing the treatment kept making faces and laughing. This made my husband and I very self conscious as this is not how one should conduct themselves! To top it off on our way out the reception lady came running to us asking if we paid and presented our voucher. What an unprofessional establishment. Safe to say We will not be back

I've been to the spa previously and had no problems. On my last view 20 January 2024 I went again but was disappointed. I requested a light pressure massage. There were numerous times that I told the the******s that she was hurting me. The next day I woke up with my body sore. I have complained to the spa. I got no feedback from them.

My parents went to La Jour Day Spa on 17 November which was my mom's birthday. They were thoroughly impressed with the service they received. They booked for a 2 hour massage through Daddy's Deals (R499.00) and their appointement was at 10am. The staff was friendly The place was clean Welcome drinks were served The pool area was a bonus (mom took alot of pictures there lol) Ample and safe parking Everyone from the security personal to each staff member deserve a huge THANK YOU as they were helpful and my parents could not stop complimenting how good they felt after the massages. I'll definetly book for me and my partner soon!

I bought a massage deal off Daddy's deals for a one and a half hour sports massage and on the day I was running late but I kept messaging the Whastapp number to let them know I was running late and what time I would be there. My massage was only one hour instead of one and a half hours and I asked the lady did one and a half hours go that quick? and she said yes but I definitely checked the time before we started. This is extremely unprofessional as I should have rather booked somewhere where I was going to get what I paid for and I have given a few of these vouchers as gifts and I am concerned the same thing is going to happen to them. I do think the facilities... room, towels and pool should be cleaner and staff should not be lying on the couches as guests enter.
