Flew with Emirates in Oct 2019. Sadly they have an SLA with Louis Datnow who replaced my hand luggage. The luggage piece provided was defective and did not roll effectively and kept falling over when loaded. I call to report this and request it be returned. After numerous calls and messages, which go unanswered/unreturned and then met with ignorance and insolence, they eventually collect in Dec 2020. I make weekly calls to Selwyn, who probably is the most unhelpful serviceman I have ever had the misfortune of coming across and probably even worse than having to deal with LD and its GM Jeff. I was promised that the bag would be replaced, and to date I have heard nothing. I have to constantly call them, message them, etc. Why does the airlines use this company at all. They supply defective bags and then we suffer the consequences and get absolutely no service delivery standard at all. If you are looking for a bag, dont look this way as you will regret every moment of every encounter with the company and personnel. My only hope is that they actually do give me a decent bag after all this drama.

Took my suitcase away to assess damage and almost 3 months later finding excuses why they can't replace it. The most incompetent company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. @Emirates Airlines are FOOLS to be using them.

Great service from Jeff Giddish. Louis Datnow Luggage repaired a wheelchair that somehow was broken by SAA staff while in storage during the flight. Jeff went the absolute extra mile to repair the wheelchair as well as deliver the wheelchair while it was actually the responsibility of SAA to deliver the repaired goods. When the wheelchair had been delivered in Pretoria the seat cushion was missing. Jeff went back to JHB to collect the cushion and returned it still the same night just after 21h00. Eternally grateful for wonderful service from Louis Datnow Luggage. SAA SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEIR PATHETIC SERVICE TO A VISITOR FROM GERMANY. Not surprised they are in the situation that they are.

My daughters luggage was damaged on an Lufthansa flight. They "Lufthansa" agreed to fix/replace the bag and referred us to Loius Datnow Luggage for the claim. We stated when calling this company that we had to travel again two weeks later overseas and therefore it was urgent that we sort out this problem quickly. They assured us that it would take just a few days to sort out for us. After picking up the bag from us "we" had to phone to follow up the case and they first couldn't place the case and then later told us that it could not be fixed and had to be replaced...after along story of lie after lie they eventually found the correct case to replace and promised delivery the next day. Four days later and after promising each day they would deliver they still did not deliver! I am leaving tomorrow overseas and still do not have my case!!!!!! Shocking..... Shocking service, added with a no care attitude!

It was emphasised that I needed the repairs done urgently, as I was travelling again soon. LDL contacted me the very next day, collected the suitcase from my office, fixed it within one day and then delivered the suitcase again to my office. All this was done while constantly keeping me informed of the progress and when collection and delivery would take place. Such outstanding service is so hard to come by these days. It was fantastic to deal with a business that takes pride in their work and puts the customer first. I sincerely thank you for this.</p>

<p>I have a baggage claim via Emirates. I have to obtain my new bag from Louis Datnow Luggage in Woodmead. I want a Samsonite X-Blade 150 l duffel bag. This claim is now outstanding for a month and according to Louis Datnow, Samsonite can't supply them with this duffel bag a they don't have stock. How is it possible a variety of luggage stores in Sandton, Menlyn and Brooklyn have this bag in store?</p>

I am disgusted in their service too. They collected my bag on the 16/07/2015, 8 months after my bag was damaged on a Kulula flight. It needed to be replaced and it was a cellini. Luggage that is always available .I AM STILL waiting for my bag. Every time i speak to Jeff the owner or Selwyn they can barely apologise, it takes them forever to find my file, then they say sorry and tell me they will deliver a suitcase tomorrow. Tomorrow has never come. I am so appalled by this shocking service and they just dont care???!!! Its now 7 months since they collected my bag and still no new suitacase? Who can i speak to as they dont care at all to sort out this issue. They just keep making excuses and i call every 3 weeks?

After having a brand new piece of luggage damaged by an airline, Louis Datnow Luggage is the company contracted to either repair or replace the bag. I went through all the correct channels, and had my bag collected a week after my flight, it was determined that the bag could not be repaired but rather should be replaced. This brand is readily available in South Africa, however as it was not black but rather bright orange (A feature which I paid extra for owing to frequency of travel, and the desire to have easily recognisable luggage) It was slightly more difficult to find the exact bag. I was willing to compromise and said that I would be happy with the same bag, in any colour other then black. Instead of getting on with it, and finding the easiest solution, Jeff at Louis Datnow Luggage made up some story about driving to various outlets around Gauteng to check on stock, instead of just picking up the phone. The bag is also available for order online in South Africa, which I mentioned several times, but I am still without a replacement.He blatantly lied and stated the bag would be ready last week, and when I called to collect I was told that they did not have it.Such poor service
