Sadly customers often only take the time to post review when they are unhappy. Very rarely when they are satisfied. We have been using Mace Service Centre for almost two decades and have always had outstanding service! Hammy has helped out with a few emergencies, he even sent his staff to tow our vehicle to his workshop. We always have peace of mind that the job will be done thoroughly and have never had problems afterwards, ever! Hammy is extremely helpful and has always been friendly and gives sound advice that we trust 100% Thank you for two decades of top class service Hammy!

Leaving a review just to counterbalance the negative ones. I've been taking cars to Mace for 10 years and I have no complaints. I like the place. Helpful front office vibe, and I trust the deep knowledge and good sense of the top guy, Hammy. As with any business, the occasional *****-up happens, and Mace once had to redo a failed turbocharger refurbishment for me (but there were profuse apologies, and no charge for the second, successful job). Mace isn't bargain-ba*****t cheap but the prices are more than reasonable. I'm a satisfied customer.

There should be minus stars to rate this garage. My 77 year old mother was verbally abused and intimidated when she questioned why certain, unauthorised items were done to her car whilst in for one thing in particular. She was not contacted and Mace just decided do whatever they chose, and then presented a R17K bill for an old bashed up car. When she asked Hamy about it, this huge man towered over her, shouted and pointed his finger in her face and threatened her. In addition he cruelly told her that "just because her husband (my father) had just passed away from Covid, she shouldn't expect any sympathy or soecial treatment, since when he was alive, he never questioned the car bills and he ( Hamy) will not having her start that now." This is a garage whose services we have been loyally using for more than 20 years and with whom we thought we had a relationship. This is their treatment for years of loyalty, a free for all on the car, which in also took them about 2 months to finish fiddling with, and then a massive, unwarranted bill followed by shouting at his elderly customer which did not abate, even when I went over to see why my mom was crying. On relating the story to other people since, it has become clear that this is not an isolated incident and within our circle we have been advised by 3 other people of their similar experience with MACE. Be warned !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There should be minus stars to rate this garage. My 77 year old mother was verbally abused and intimidated when she questioned why certain, unauthorised items were done to her car whilst in for one thing in particular. She was not contacted and Mace just decided do whatever they chose, and then presented a R17K bill for an old bashed up car. When she asked Hamy about it, this huge man towered over her, shouted and pointed his finger in her face and threatened her. In addition he cruelly told her that "just because her husband (my father) had just passed away from Covid, she shouldn't expect any sympathy or soecial treatment, since when he was alive, he never questioned the car bills and he ( Hamy) will not having her start that now." This is their treatment for years of loyalty, a free for all on the car, which in also took them about 2 months to finish fiddling with, and then a massive, unwarranted bill followed by shouting at his elderly customer which did not abate, even when I went over to see why my mom was crying. Really bad attitude and arrogance from a guy called Manny relating to pushing his agenda for dyno tuning as opposed to listening to customer needs. Won't ever consider them for any form of engagement ever!!!!

I bought a car from private owner and had the car checked out and serviced at a workshop of my choice. The car had a cambelt replacement sticker in the door panel indicating that it was due for replacement on 262 000 kms.. Thus I did not change the belts.. 5 months later my cambelt snaps Nd I call to inform Mase and also to hear about warranty on belt.. They informed me that because I am not the original customer and the car had not been serviced by them after belt replacement back then there is no warranty on the item.. I might be ignorant but that just seems like a quick way out of manning and taking responsibility for a failed product! Not impressed at all.. Don't recommend.. This is not even mentioning the arrogance displayed over the telephone by the staff I came into contact with.!

<p>Mr Campbell McCurrach and his wife override what happened to my sister yesterday. He hit my sister with a bike and thanks God she is fine nothing serius but her cellphone was damaged. I called him to let him know how is she doing as promised but he went over his wife words to overrides what happened to my sister. if he is innocent why he gave us his bussiness card and he was not angry to show that my sister was in the wrong. I saw everything and i have witnesses. All we asked for is replacement of cellphone. This is what we get, we should agologise to him because we were on the wrong, he says who will pay for his bike because this are the words from his wife and roads are not made for pedestrians. All i am saying is that thanks God my sister is fine and we can replace the cellphone but show some sympathy that you are sorr. Just worndering what would happened if my sister lost her life there, that is what were going to be told that we were wrong. Supprisingly people crosses public roads at any time when it is safe and for my siste she was in the middle of the road first and as a driver he was supporsed to be vigilant because anything can happen but because we are pedestrian she is overriden and sh is now wrong because we asked for a cellphone replacement. My question is why he gave us his business card if he was not in a wrong and my sister is left with bruises and no cellphone. When i call him to tell him that my sister is fine can he please replace her phone that where he says my sister should pay for her bike as well. I am a driver my self and i know the rules of the road ( as a driver you shoul always be vigilant but my sister was vigilant enought to stop but he did not and he swarve and hit her we saw everything and we have witness and he said we should apologise to him. I took my car to Mace after hearing the hype bout their service from a friend. Well they diagnosed the problem quickly and at this point I was impressed. Later they delivered me home after I left my car in for repairs. I was questioning some prices politely and asking for a breakdown of costs when I was surprised how I was given attitude. Further I was not able to be offered a lift that day seeing they were busy. I understood and they offered one in the morning. Come 12 there has been no contact with me for collection despite me emailing them. Mace is not as cheap as I first heard and not as friendly.
