I am writing to share my unfortunate experience with the Mercedes-Benz Lifestyle Centre dealership in Menlyn regarding my purchase of a Mercedes-Benz C220d. According to the Offer to Purchase, the vehicle's first registration date was stated as 21 February 2023, which was a key factor in my decision to purchase the car. However, I later discovered that the vehicle was actually registered on 30 November 2022—a significant discrepancy that directly impacts the terms of the agreement under which I purchased the vehicle. I have made numerous attempts to resolve this issue by reaching out to the dealership via email. Unfortunately, despite my persistent efforts, the dealership has failed to respond to my communications. This lack of accountability and customer service is deeply disappointing, especially given the brand's reputation for excellence. As a result of the dealership's inaction, I have had to escalate the matter to Mercedes-Benz South Africa’s customer service team in the hope of finding a resolution. This experience has been frustrating and time-consuming, and I feel compelled to warn others to exercise caution when dealing with this dealership. A brand as prestigious as Mercedes-Benz should hold its dealerships to the highest standards of transparency and customer care, which I sadly did not experience in this case. I hope this review helps others make informed decisions and encourages the dealership to take accountability for its actions.

Two weeks ago I took my car in for service and I asked the service advisor to check what the cause of the persistent oil leak was from my car which I had observed every morning when I start the car, in addition to that I advised the agent that something was wrong with the aircon as the car was losing gas resulting in a malfunctioning aircon. To my surprise the car was kept for three days and filled with dye to establish where the aircon leak was coming and the agent claimed that the oil leak was resolved while there was no indication of any loss of gas from the test. I was then hit with a bill of 32k for the oil leak repair. Upon receiving my vehicle I parked it for 4 days without driving it, upon driving the vehicle the same problem observed initially with the oil leak was visible and the gas from the aircon was gone, I called Thembi the advisor to tell her that the car seems to have the same problem I took it in for repairs and that my aircon control panel is not working which was not the case at point of first check in. They kept the car and the very same Thembi advised me that there is a cost of 27k I need to pay to have the oil and aircon problem resolved I advised her that I will not pay any additional cent towards the repair of the oil leak as the same problem was not fixed. What I could not understand is the fact that the same dying test was done and no faults were observed from the aircon however the second time around they could now establish the problem This made me ask myself if my car was indeed sorted with the oil leak when they kept it for three days and charged me 32k I am still without my car and have not received any further communication from this branch nor have they offered me a courtesy car while my car is in their possession Do they know what they are doing or are they constantly taking cash from customers without resolving mechanical issues from poor customers who might not be technically challenged and desperate to have their cars fixed

My Smart car was towed into Menlyn for repairs October 2023, I was informed a new control unit and keys had to be ordered as I do not have a spare key. Well it is now 5 months later, I have paid for parts and labor could not get courtesy vehicle as Smart cars not considered as Premier enough and still no car. I receive no updates from Thembi and her leaders and have to keep following up with them just to hear they still waiting for key order from Germany which I was advised takes 6-8 weeks. Wonder if car is still there and if parts have even been ordered. The repairs/service side of this dealership is shocking stay away.

We bought a 2020 model GLC300d 4Matic and Mercedes Benz Menlyn in January 2023. The sales consultant's name is Monja, initially we were interested in the GLC250 and told her this upon our arrival. Monja showed us the GLC300d instead and started her sales pitch as to why we should go for this car instead. We went through the application process, was approved and the following promises were made: 2 new tyres will be fitted and brake pads and brake discs would be replaced. She also told us that the car was still in maintenance and service plan (but failed to mention that the replacement of brake pads/discs etc... were limited and that this limit was already reached before we even bought the car). The windscreen had a big chip in and she told us that it has been stopped and the car went through road worthy. We asked her to please replace the windscreen as the chip was quite big and disturbing. We waited weeks for this to happen. Afterwards we had multiple issues and complaints with the car, the fuel gauge stopped working (always showed reserve tank although we put diesel in), we reported it and the whole tank had to be replaced (we didn't even have the car for 2 months yet) we had to leave the car with them for a while and they wanted us to pay for a hire car (after fighting this, they gave us a loan car), brake system gave problems, she kept telling us they can't pick up any faults. Only to find out she never replaced the brake pads/discs as she promised before the sale was final (service guy showed us the record). We reported the suspension issue and were told that's how the car was built. After numerous back and forth, we eventually told Monja we no longer want the vehicle and want to cancel the deal. She told us to at least drive the car for a year as we will have a BIG shortfall. A year later we find out that the car's value is 300K less than what we bought it for...what a shock!! A whole Mercedes Benz GLC300d dropping it's value by 300K in a year (not the brand it portrays to be). We went back to Mercedes Benz Menlyn to enquire about this and asked them to give us an offer, to our surprise they couldn't make us an offer and referred us to We Buy Cars, who already offered about 300K less than what we bought it for. This was a complete *******, seems like the car was never worth the price they sold it to us for. Now we're getting the worst treatment from Monja, who clearly does not care that she ripped us off big time!! She has an attitude and told us we can go to the DP.

I received a notification from Autotrader that this dealer had a GLC Coupe for sale, exactly the model I was looking for. I immediately phoned and spoke to Grant. He told me the car was sold awaiting finance approval. I told him to phone me back if the finance fell through. He tried very hard to sell me a model I was not interested in and said he would call me if the car I actually wanted became available. A week later he phoned to say the buyer had changed his mind. I rep**** great, I'll fly up to Pretoria tomorrow from CT to see the car and will buy it. He told me I could not see the car as the drivers seat was being repaired. I told him to call me the minute it was fixed and I could come and see it. No communication from Grant for a week. I contacted him 3 times over the next 2 weeks and each time he told me the seat was still being fixed. Then today I contact him and he tells me the car has been sold. Clearly these people have no integrity, no decency, are ****s and I'm glad this happened as I've no doubt I would have regretted buying a car from a dealership that has zero resect for potential clients. Do yourself a favour and don't go near these guys.

I gave this branch a bad review in the past and rightly so. Recently however I had an argument with them on a panel on my vehicle that was not alligned. They gave different reasons for it amongst others that it must have been in an acident. I knew it was not so was adament they needed to fix it. They undertook to do so but I called the panel beater who fixed a small scratch on the vehicle. Lo and behold they told me they did remove that panel and refitted it! Obviously then it was not their mistake. As i had dropped the vehicle off already to fix i called and explained that i was wrong- yup egg on my face- and that i was just to stubborn to listen to them. Just because i argued with them and hey stayed professional and was prepared to solve the problem was a positive for me. I apologized to them and they handled the situation well. I am glad to say that it changed my negative perception especially Nateesha who is my service advisor

How is it possible that you cannot contact this company service booking? They transfer you to service reception, who answers and transfer you back to first contact. after a long time it just shuts down and you have to start over again? Not good for a company where you expect the best!!
