Title: Issues with Appointment Respect and Service I visited Medellin Gentlemen Groomers Irene Link around 1 pm, and they gave me an appointment slot for 4:30 pm. I arrived before my scheduled time, and my son was left waiting. To my dismay, when I returned at 5 pm, someone else was getting a haircut, and my son hadn't been attended to yet. Despite arriving early and having a booked appointment, we weren't served in our allocated time slot. Compounding this, a relative had previously experienced mistreatment at their barber shop, which makes me concerned about consistency in black customer treatment. The manager, Kobus, appeared to prioritize other patrons over us, inserting them into our time slot. We only got attended to at 5:30 pm, and that was after I voiced my dissatisfaction. In an attempt to diffuse my complaint, Kobus offered a complimentary haircut, which I declined. As a paying customer, my aim wasn't to seek a free service but to express my frustration at not being treated with the respect and timeliness I expected - an experience that seems not isolated, considering my relatives past encounter. Good day .so yesterday (sunday the 3rd april i phoned Medellin pineslopes) for a booking.. I got a booking for 4:20 arrived there at 14:19 i announced my arrival at the reception desk and took a seat..there was 3 gentlemen barbers busy with clients .one finished up went for a smoke and sat down at a chair..the second one finished up helped a client with products .this was now 14:50 half an hour waiting after i made a booking and still was not helped bare in mind they close at 3 ..i got up and left..this is unacceptable and it was the last time i would support Medellin ever again..

I have been to Medellin Waterfall a few times. The first few times the barber Marcey took his time and really did a good job. The last time that I went there on 29 Sept 2023, Marcey completely messed up my hair and beard. A service that usually takes 1hour to 1h15mins, he rushed and did in 30mins. He did not use hot towels when shaving. He did not wash my hair properly. He did not take the necessary precautions to stop hair from going into my clothing. As such, i was completely a mess when he was done. Disgraceful service for the premium price that they charge. Marcey told me while cutting my hair, that the management at Medellin had not paid the staff their monthly salaries and it was the last work day of the month. He said all the stylists are disgruntled and stressed about their salaries. I suspect this may have been the reason for the ********** service that I received. Nevertheless, it isnt grounds to mess up a persons hair and beard. The next morning, I called Medellin to lay a formal complaint and ask for a refund. The gentleman who handled my complaint (went by the name of “Mo”) was very understanding and apologetic. He said he will take this up with the owner (“Marlon”) and get back to me. At the time of writing this (10 Oct 2023) almost a week and a half later, I have not got a call back or any communication from Medellin management. Really really disappointed and would not recommend this place to anyone!

I have visited a few of the Medellin branches in Pretoria and throughout JHB and the experience I had was out of this world! The barbers did exactly what I wanted from start to end. Thank you Medellin Gentlemens Groomer

Initially amazing then the reality of how some clients and their concerns are treated, settled in. Disgusting, damn expensive & extremely rude.

Just had a beard groom at the Blueberry Honeydew branch. They charged me R328. I'm absolutely appalled with the price. Just for a beard trim. I will definitely not come back and will never recommend anyone to come here. For that price you scamming people. If there are hidden costs, your barbers need to inform their customers first that this will be extra before doing their own thing.

I do not mind spending a bit more for a haircut and a shave because you normally offer a good service. At R600 for a haircut and a shave including a tip, I expect good service or at the very least for you to honour a basic first come first serve policy. Today, after arriving more than 30 minutes early for a haircut and shave appointment I had booked earlier in the day, I watched you take a customer fr the counter straight to a chair that should have gone to me without a moment taken to consider my schedule. This after already being 10 minutes late for our appointment. Barber Lou might not cost as much for a cut or be as posh as you. But they make sure to get to you as soon as they can and not give anyone else preferential treatment. Guess I will support them instead going forward and buy a beer with the difference.
