I am appalled that after so much education about COVID19 and safety protocols that this restaurant has failed to comply so dismally. The owner, bar man, manager, table cleaner and another waiter were all walking around with no masks!!! Tables eere not sanitized betwen patrons and whrn I enquired why they were not wearing masks i was told they take them off to talk yo customers!!! Therr is no logic in that. This restaurant should be closed until such time that they can get up to speed. What a shame!!!!!

First of all the service we received was immaculate and the amount of privacy we received was on point. Never in my life have I received such treatment. My boyfriend and I were pleased with our experience and all this thanks to Effort (Mzamo) he did an amazing job well done to him and we'll be returning soon to celebrate my birthday in November.

There is a lady at Street Food (associated with Pata Pata), she is extremely rude. I actually feel like that's an understatement. This lady cares nothing about customers or customer service. I went there to buy a roll, I had R100 with me (keep in mind, this is during lunch peak hours). She looked at me, looked at her co-worker and shrugged her shoulders as if I shouldn't even be there trying to buy food with big money. Firstly, why don't they have change around lunch hour? Secondly, why didn't this lady just explain nicely to me that they don't have change they'll try to get it for me, or I must come back later? Why did she have to shrug her shoulders and look at me like I'm not even worthy?

I visited Pata Pata restaurant in Maboneng with my friends this afternoon and am very dissatisfied with the service. We were given a table to sit at and then were not attended to thereafter. People who got to the restaurant after us were attended to and served first. After requesting a waiter/waitress about 3 times someone came to give us menus. He didn't introduce himself and didn't even ask if we wanted to order drinks while we decide on what we wanted to eat. Ultimately the manager was did her rounds and after learning about our ordeal apologized and found us a capable waiter by the name of Effort. The service was better from then on but the dessert we got was awful and dried out. I also ordered cake to take home and most of it was stale and dried out. The waiters need to go through more rigorous training and the shef should pay careful attention to all his meals.
