Hi all. I would like to warn you not to use Empire Pool Renovations. Their work is not up to scratch and if they damage anything such as a retractable hosepipe, they simply ignore you when you ask them to replace the damaged hosepipe. I suggest you simply use a more reputable company that is willing to back up their work and address any concerns.
Zama Hattingh assisted me with my refund on levies after I had sold my apartment. She was polite and attentive to my needs. She came back to me on a follow up email and ensured the money was eventually reflecting in my account. Great job done. Nice to see a good standard of customer service these days.
I had my epoxy painted pool redone by removing the epoxy and having it re-marbalited. The actual marbalite job was done well however a number of items around this post the job has left a bad taste in my mouth. 1. Mosaic tiles were not properly cleaned and now have blue marbelite in numerous spots on the tiles. 2. The workers broke my retractable hose pipe housing and simply left it as they broke it without any word. Although I paid the job on time without making them wait for their money, they have yet to answer my request for compensation on my hose pipe. 3. They have now stopped answering my messages or take days to even read my message. Can't get hold of them on the phone. 4. Have not received my actual invoice for the job, so not counting much value in the "7-year warranty" I suggest use a different company that is not all about making a buck off you!!!
I am a Private Client of FNB and had a Virtual Credit card loaded on my account as it should be safer to use. The CVC code for a virtual card changes every few minutes so almost impossible for it to be used fraudulently. Or so I thought! On the 12th of November a dozen or so transactions came through on my virtual credit card totaling around R15k and all for foreign based companies. I logged this immediately with the Fraud Unit who then took a full month to investigate just to come back and say their systems did not fail so therefore will not reimburse me for the loss. The only way I see this as vaguely being possible is for it to be an inside job within FNB. However, the only way to use a virtual card is online because there is no card to swipe. All online transactions will send me a verification request on the FNB banking app to verify the purchase and I did not get a single verification request on the app, yet the money flew out of my account. I am very unhappy about this and will be closing my accounts with FNB. Be aware that you could easily lose money at this bank.
Worst service ever and you won't get your money back. We booked a place before Covid and during the year the lodge closed down and could no longer accommodate us. I have called Hotels.com several times to get a refund. Each time they tell me they need to get hold of the Lodge to confirm. It does not take a brain surgeon to understand that they will not get hold of the lodge - The place is no longer operating! Seems this is simply a way for them to avoid paying the money back.
We did our flight and car hire bookings through Discovery Vitality as we have done a hundred times before except this time the car we chose happen to be done via Tempest - Cape Town Airport (associated with Discovery and Kulula). We normally make use of Europcar and have never had any problems what so ever. However after the trip our car hire deposit was not returned as they tried to charge us for windscreen chips. My colleague at work overheard my conversation and later told me the exact same thing happened to his sister only a month before. He says they discovered that this was a form of scam I assume by the staff at the CT airport tempest. Discovery and Kulula needs to seriously investigate this behaviour as I certainly won't use Tempest again. After some calls I managed to get my deposit refunded.
I changed my medical aid some years ago to pay at cost. Meaning that whatever claim I put in they will pay the full amount and there will be no co-payment. This means my savings gets depleted faster which I am prepared for. However for my Rheumatologist they have a special payment arrangement which simply overrides my pay at cost arrangement. Although I can easily pay the co-amount I am highly ****ed off as it is the principle of the matter.

BE WARNED!

What ever you do, do NOT sign up with Easy Holidays. Don't be tempted by prizes won etc. They give you an hour long presentation putting all your time share concerns to rest about how their model works. However everything they tell you is a stretch of the truth. They do not own any overseas resorts and is done thru RCI and you will always have availability problems.

I would have been happy with the product if everything thhey told me wasx indeed true. However as I tried to book my first holiday in Thailand I soon started realising that nothing was as they made out. So now I sit with 60 useless points after signing a contract of R75k. They will never release you from this obligation no matter what even though they were commiting fraud!

This company needs to be stopped by the authorities to protect the public from spending their hard earned money on something that is worth a 10th of its actual value.

Now I am forecd to take holidays on their terms rather than on my terms.

STAY AWAY!!!

I contact Mastercare early on Monday morning to report my microwave had stopped working and I was told that someone would contact me back for the repair within 48 hours. Now 3 calls later and on Thursday afternoon I still have not received any phone call from a technician to arrange for the repair.

(Job number 64089899)

Have been told that a Melba would be contacting me shortly but this remains to be seen.
Ellies power inverter starts beeping loudly and constantly for the last few minutes of power when using the batteries during load shedding. It makes watching TV quite difficult and such a bad design flaw. This really should be changed to a single beep and then to remain quiet.
