Last night we decided to visit Ashley's Family Restaurant Best Family Restaurant in the Cape 2022/23/24 for pizzas for the twin boys and for supper. From the time we walked in we were greeted and welcomed by Juanita who asked us to wait for a table in their waiting area. She never took her eyes off us making sure we were fine, until a table for the 5 of us became available. Our waitress Josephine was exceptional and most attentive. Later I decided to order a bottle of wine from Josephine, and Ashley himself presented us with the wine, wine glasses and an ice bucket. The service was amazing throughout the evening from Ashley, Juanita and waitress Josephine! This is this reason I will be back again and again! Very well done! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Metrorail at Cape Town Station is mostly a disaster. Non of the information boards are working. The Information desks are manned by 2 or 3 employees per desk who spend most of their time socialising with each other and they do not have any information. They will all tell commuters to wait for announcements of train times and platforms, which are often inaudable or not happening at all causing chaos on the station platforms leaving commuters stranded or confused.
I would like to lodge a complaint regarding the bus service on the 109, 108 and 105 routes after 12h00 daily. These buses are often overfull and often drive past the stops leaving commuters waiting for more than an hour for a bus with space onboard. I have complained about this situation in the past and was advised that there are extra buses on these routes with a bus every 12 minutes. This is certainly not the case. Are there no bigger buses available on this routes between 12h00 - 17h00 Mondays to Fridays Please? Please investigate this matter.
I have yet to receive poor service at a Capitec Bank branch. Today Wednesday 15 November 2023 I visited two branches of Capitec Bank, first at Capitec Bank Golden Acre on my way to work to enquire and apply for one of their products, then later close to my work at Capitec Sea Point. At both branches I received excellent service! At the Capitec Sea Point branch I was assisted by a consultant JP Le Roux. This young man was brilliant and friendly in every way. At the end of my successful visit, he even showed me some amazing features on the Capitec banking app. Well done and keep up the greatness!
Today I decided to try out the Metrorail train from Century City Station to Cape Town. I arrived at Century City Station at 07h00. The ticket office could not sell me a ticket due to loadshedding and I was told to purchase a ticket at my destination in town. Secondly, they were unable to tell me what time the next train to train would be. We just waited and eventually boarded the Shozoloza Meyl train at 07h30 to Cape Town. At Cape Town Station the ticket inspector delayed us further because he was waiting for his colleague to bring him a ticket machine. The return trip from Cape Town at 17h10 was a bigger nightmare. The information desk could not tell me the train times and said I must wait for announcements to be made. I checked on my phone online at got a time table that indicated a time of 17h10 from CapeTown. We still did not know from which platform the train would depart. Several confused passengers were standing around on the platform. We then tried to listen to some barely audible announcements, and eventually made out the train only departs from platform 22 at 17h30. This older yellow & grey train was in bad condition with many of the inside door handles stolen off. As we reached Century City Station, the train doors would not open. We made our way trough to the next carriage, but the train pulled away, forcing us to get off the train at Monte Vista Station and wait for 45 minutes for another train back to Century City. Once again no announcements at all. During this nightmare train journey I also witnessed the shocking state of the vandalized state of once functional Kentemade and Acacia Park train stations, now sadly fallen into ruins. My wish this train service could be restored to what it was. This service is in a sad state. We need reliable public rail transport.
I had an amazing experience recently when I accompanied a colleague to Standard Bank in Sea Point, which prompted me to switch banks. I was a Standard Bank client years ago for many years but changed banks because of a former employer. They won me over this time again when I witnessed and experienced the fast, brilliant and friendly service by one of their consultants namely Steven Cramer. This gentleman deserves a 5-star rating for his incredible service delivery and efficiency. Very well done Standard Bank Sea Point... Keep up the Awesomeness!
I am appalled at the poor service rendered by the Golden Arrow Bus Services on the Factreton > Cape Town route. Earlier this year the company greatly reduced the daily service along this route because of dwindling users at off peak hours. This is understandable. However, One wonders if the company took time to investigate the reasons for the dwindling passenger numbers. This morning I once again witnessed why passengers seek alternative means of transport due to non-service delivery by Golden Arrow: This morning, Saturday 17 September 2022 at about 07h50, I was waiting for the bus from Factreton to the City in Typhoon Street on my way to work. This bus is scheduled to depart from Factreton at 08h00 according to the attached timetable on the Golden Arrow website. The 08h00 bus never arrived. At about 08h15 my friend waiting at the first bus stop in 16th Avenue, Factreton decided to phone the Transport Information Centre to enquire. They informed her that the bus was not cancelled and probably running late, At about 08h25 the bus drove past me in Typhoon Street enroute to 16th Avenue. I assumed that this was the 08h00 bus running late. It's destination in front displayed 'Factreton'. I called my friend waiting in 16th Avenue to alert her. She told me that this bus never turned around for it's return trip to Town. Instead it proceeded all the way to Voortrekker Road and turned right towards Town. (Pic No 3 attached). The 08h00 bus never arrived. The next bus was scheduled for 09h20. I decided to walk all the way to Voortrekker Road opposite 16th Avenue to wait on the bus. At about 09h10 a bus No. T7001 with destination marked "City" emerged from 16th Avenue and turned into Voortrekker Road towards Town. I boarded this bus and asked the driver why he was not following his route through Factreton and Kensington. He told me they enter the area at 5th Avenue and exit the area at 16th Avenue to return to Town, meanwhile there are passengers waiting at the bus stops for this bus in Factreton and Kensington. I told the driver that this was unacceptable. He then turned down 15th Avenue to follow the proper route through the area. There were many frustrated passengers waiting at the bus stops, some passengers have left out of frustration and took minibus taxis or alternative transport. I lodged a telephonic complaint with the TRANSPORT INFORMATION CENTRE on 0800656463 at 09h20. The Reference Number is 7200364414. When we arrived at our destination in Town, I also lodged my complaint with the Golden Arrow Regulator, Ms Martin, at the Golden Acre terminus. I trust that you would investigate this matter and restore your normal service as soon as possible. Yours truly Kevin Alexander
On Saturday 30 July 2022, I decided to visit Wimpy St. George's Mall in the City CBD for an early morning breakfast. I have always been impressed by the professionalism, hospitality, friendly visible management and good food at this Wimpy since 8 years ago. On this Saturday it was no different. I arrived with my lady friend and we were warmly greeted by Heather and promptly ushered to our table. We were promptly served and our food arrived short while later. The Manager, Everson, and his team deserve many accolades for their great service. Keep up the greatness guys!
Ashley's Family Restaurant never disappoint, this evening, Sunday 26 June was no different. The staff and service were once again phenomenal. We were a couple and were promptly shown to a nice table in the non-smoking section. About two minutes later our waitress, Chanté (Petersen) arrived and took our drinks and meals orders. She was most attentive and amazing from the start throughout the evening. Thank you Chanté Petersen and Ashley's... Keep up the great work!
Café District Six is a nice little fast food outlet situated at the Grand Central complex in the Cape Town CBD (downstairs from the post office), serving great snacks like pies, samoosas, mini pizzas, sausage rolls as well as burgers, sandwiches and meals. They serve the most amazing liver and onions. Owner Naz Gamiet is always, friendly, fast and efficient. Her two young female staff members are true ambassadors of her level of customer care and quality home made foods. I am a regular for a quick coffee and snack on my way to the office in the mornings. They never disappoint. And their quality of foods is consistent. Keep up the good work Café District Six!
