A super view and a super meal

It was a very busy day there, in holiday season and the staff were trying to cater for several large parties' annual lunches. My sister and I dropped in and found a table. The wait staff were friendly and quickly brought our drinks. A bit longer than normal to take our lunch orders, but not unexpected given the circumstances. I had spare ribs with chips, my sister ordered a hamburger, which she praised highly, and I was very satisfied with my meal. I ordered a second drink (it was a thirsty sort of day), which took rather a long time to arrive. And that is the only negative. If it were possible I would award 4 1/2 stars. Great ambiance, lovely views and very good value for money!

Dining as a gourmet

Food, service and ambiance on this level is a long way from bargain ba*****t, and well worth it! My companion and I both had swordfish, mine with harissa sauce and hers with blue cheese sauce. The fish was delicate, melt-in-the-mouth as swordfish ought to be. Vegetables and chips were attractively presented and the staff were attentive but unintrusive. The wine which the waitress suggested was pretty good too!

Beta Baths

Acrylic baths can be repaired!

Beta Baths was recommended by a plumber to repair a cracked acrylic bath. They arrived a smidgen late, but thereafter all proceeded swiftly and efficiently. The bath looked as new when they'd finished. I'm very pleased with the service.

Good service, value for money

I engaged Desire, via Kandua, to construct a built-in-cupboard, paint two other cupboards and replace a fairing over a toilet outlet. Contract price was very reasonable. He was prompt (allowing for a delay caused by a 13-car pile-up on the N1, and another due to supplier snags) and did a good job all round, with one or two snags which were promptly attended to. I would rate 9/10

They were prompt, competitive and efficient. They also attended to an irksome item which was not of their making. I could not have asked for more!

Garden Resurrection

David Walsh/ Inspired landscaping did an amazing job on my garden, which had not been properly cared for for seven years, being now a rental property. He removed a Brazilian pepper which had roots heading for China, and many other things, some of which were his own inspiration. He was able to keep costs down by using some of the waste timber for these. So, a splendid job, on time and on budget. Full marks!!!

I'll Use Them Again

The only (slightly) negative point was that they had a problem finding the delivery address - as they were earlier to piick up than intended, this wasn't a serious problem at all. Otherwise, all went well and the consignment was delivered with efficiency and courtesy. Well done.

Beyond the call of duty

I engaged Bevan van Rooyen to carry out maintenance & repair work in a rental house which I own. The project involved a few other contractors, and this initially gave rise to some dissatisfaction with progress. However, this was eventually resolved, and the work was concluded satisfactorily. On the day I was due to sign off the contract, the premises were broken into and malicious damage to property caused flooding, which Bevan spotted while passing, and he stepped heroically into the breach and did all he could to rectify the situation. I live 30 km away, and am supremely grateful for his intervention. Bevan, take a bow!

Communica Electronics supplier

I have purchased electronic items from this supplier from time to time over several years. I have always found the staff helpful and courteous. Recently I brought in a gate battery I thought was defective. The branch manager kindly put it on charge and phoned me the next day to tell me it was now fully charged. This is service I appreciate, and I can recommend them highly for readiness to assist and integrity.
