Buying all out meats from supermarkets, it was a pleasant sight to see Bluff Meat Supply renovating a building in Westville!! We have been shopping there a few times and it's like shopping in a different world! The staff are all so friendly the service is fantastic, and prices are unbelievable good! The meats, biltong and cold meats are all fresh! Thank you, Bluff Meat Supply, for opening in Westville.
We ordered a takeaway, for the first time, 1) a lunch box and 2) Half a chicken, extra hot. I collected at the specified time, paid and took it home. (Invoice 117 Lethukut.) All good so far. The lunchbox had a chicken burger with chips. The patty was about 3mm thick and ice-cold. The half chicken was burned black, dry as biltong and tasteless. It seems that it was flame grilled a week ago, frozen and microwaved before I collected it. The rock-hard outside was warm, but the inside was also ice cold! Westville is a small village and with disgusting food like this, I'm afraid Tiagos Westville wont last long!!
I always believe that credit must be given when it's due, I had a problem with my pool weir. It was leaking badly at the bottom. (The L shape fitting was rusted beyond repair) I phoned a pool company in Westville and left a message to phone me urgently but up to now am still waiting for them to phone me back. I then got hold of Durban Pool Solutions and spoke to Michael and within an hour Jono came, removed the rusted, L shape fitting and he showed me that the new nonmetal fitting just could not fit deep enough. (This fiberglass weir was massive, old and fitted in 1974!!) To cut a long story short, Michael gave me a very reasonable quote and by the end of the next day, last week Friday, the new weir was fitted, tiled around the much smaller weir and looking stunning. I had to wait for Sunday to top the pool with water. Everything was done very professional, neat and very reasonable priced. I just wish that there were more companies like Michael's!! A pleasure to deal with and always helpful!!
One company that's gone downhill is Vox. From one of the leading IP providers to not even featuring in the top 10 in SA. I have been with Vox for many years with good quality of service but lately, since the beginning of 2022, their service are virtually grounded to a halt. If my review can stop a few people from joining Vox than I have done my job. I pay a huge amount of money every month for an IP service. Lately I cannot do any streaming, mainly sport or any of the streaming services that I subscribe to. Email after email, phone call after phone call to try and see what the problem is but everybody I speak to cant help. Then I would get an automated email to say the problem has been fixed. What a fu------ joke. The international feed is non existent with only a .5Mbs and they cant fix it. I wanted an immediate cancellation from Vox to join another IP company but have to pay another R1200 for June before they release my line. I am disgusted!!!! Surely a company can hold someone to random like that........paying for a service you don't get!!!
So nice to write something good about a company. I went to the most popular computer outlets to get some HP Printer cartridges to no avail. (NO stock) Some wanted to sell me some generics but I have tried that before.....disaster!! I found CH AFRICA online and they had stock at unbelievable prices so I ordered black and color. This was on the 22/10/2020. The parcel arrived this morning 23/10/2020!! What impressed me even more was when I opened the package there, included with my ink was a small slab of chocolate and a small bottle of hand sanitizer!! That was so unexpected and a lovely gesture. Never will I get my printer cartridge's anywhere else! Thank you CH AFRICA!! Rudi Berkhout.
I would like to give credit where credit is due. How can one better a company when they are good? Me personally, I can say you can't because with my experience Takealot is perfection itself. Compare it to Ecodepot, a wannabe online company who lies, steal and always blame the couriers for their greed and mistakes. They take your money....the courier looses the parcel and they wont refund. At least with Takealot they take your money...within two days you get an SMS to say your parcel will be delivered before 5pm the next day.....the next day, in the morning, you get another SMS to say the parcel will now be delivered before 12am and it's always delivered on time!! Thank you Takealot for your excellent service and prices!!
Ecodepot. How things have changed within the last 12 months. A year ago I gave them a good review because of good service and communications. I placed another order in another world. Today, I feel angry to even award them one star!! I am not going through the whole story but after no replies or any correspondence to my seven emails it should tell you a lot. I have received no refund after filling a in a form weeks ago. (I did receive un-personalized computer generated emails as " you've made my day" and "we are so glad you're back" from a Crystal, the worst person employed in that company. I will never again purchase from them and I urge all of you to take care when contemplating buying from EcoDepot. What a shame!!
Contracts 24 or Pools 24 or many other 24s is the name they are trading under and their motto...Any Job, Any Time! After the heavy rains, a few months ago, water leaked into the bathroom and through the floor into the kitchen. I had the roof repaired by Westville Roofing, an excellent job. I was then "recommended" to contact Gavin Kriek of Contracts 24 to repair and repaint the bathroom and kitchen ceilings. That's when the mess, utter shambolic mess, started. Gavin Kriek sat on my deck the whole day without supervising what his men were doing. He should have noted that his men never used sheeting to cover my stove, appliances, floor and kitchen tops, nothing was covered and paint spots everywhere. After they "finished" the job I went to inspect and immediately saw that both ceilings needed another coat of paint and as I said before, paint spots everywhere!! The only reason they came back to clean their mess was that I gave them another small job to strengthen a beam in my ceiling. Shortly afterwards I heard a load bang coming from the kitchen and discovered that they never secured the cover from the light fitting and it shattered in pieces on the floor. I also discovered the repairs in the bathroom was back to what it was before they repaired it. I contacted Gavin Kriek and he in turn blamed me for the light fitting falling on the floor!! It took months, lots of WhatsApp messages and pressure from the insurance company before they eventually came back. They replaced the light fitting and repaired and painted part of the bathroom ceiling again. The light fitting however was smaller than the one they replaced and a dark one inch border was now visible around the fitting. I also noted that they used a different color paint in the bathroom where they touched up and it now looks disgusting. I contacted Gavin Kriek again and received the most disgusting, rude and threatening email I have ever received or seen. I forwarded the email to the insurance company and they too, were shocked by his response. Up to date nothing more has been done! Just stay far, far away from Gavin Kriek of Contracts 24.
