I cannot recommend Amazon enough. Their prices are excellent, their shipping is usually free, delivery is fast and efficient (thanks The Courier Guy) and packaging is excellent. I have never received a damaged or dirty product and delivery is usually sooner than expected. Communication is top, and if you do need help for some reason, their customer service is on point. I've bought multiple books from there, it always comes wrapped in plastic, clean and protected. I note this, because books from the opposition has often arrived dirty. Their range is extensive, but still growing. The only reason I use other online suppliers is for items Amazon does not stock. Excellent experience, every time.
The concept of Park and Ride is great and I've used them on other occasions with little problems. Their performance for the Goo Goo Dolls concert was atrocious though. All the communication received said the bus was leaving at 3pm. This time is also printed on our tickets. We only left at 4pm, despite the show starting at 4pm already, so there was no conceivable way we could see the start of the show we paid to see. Surely a shuttle service should attempt to have you in time for the relevant show and be transparent about their transport times? We waited from 14:20 to 16:00, knowing the show was starting as we waited. We ended up being an hour and a half late, arriving midway through the second act out of four. This was also not an isolated incident with our bus alone. Disappointing and unprofessional. Had there been honesty about the departure times, we would never have bought the tickets because we would've known we'd miss half the show. With prices as high as they are, Ubers would possibly be more affordable and definitely be more reliable. I posted a Google review and instead of the organizers attempting to rectify or even acknowledge the situation, I got a capitalized retort claiming my information is incorrect, as if my entire bus did not check and recheck our information as our time was wasted. I've actually been using Park and Ride for many years and now would be loath to do so again, what a terrible experience.
Dealing with The Courier Guy has just been such a pleasant experience. All the staff I've interacted with have been friendly and knowledgeable. I've sent a parcel to an outlying area, the price was excellent and delivery went smoothly. I have also received multiple parcels from them and I appreciate the communication. They are generally faster than expected, efficient, and I appreciate the pin notifications once the driver arrives. The driver that services this area is professional and friendly.
I am super impressed with Amazon SA's prices, service and turnaround time. I have used them a number of times now and they've been excellent every time. Prices are generally better than Takealot and they seem to have much more stock readily available. Delivery is free at the moment, which I realize is promotional, but also handy. They have a wonderful variety as well. I imported books from the US twice and both times the books came in record time and perfect condition. The one thing I would like to see change is that SA has limited access to international Amazon products. I think everyone was quite excited expecting access to global products, but this has not been the case. It would be great if we could source international Amazon products through Amazon SA, even at an increased lead time. Overall, very happy.
I used Sheet Street online once. Never again. First of all, their unreasonable lead time is never communicated at any point in the order process. Not when you order, not on your confirmation, never mentioned. You can find it in FAQs if you really want to search, which turns out to be 5-7 working days door-to-door. They never mention how long it takes for shop collection. Then, on this silly timeframe, they STILL delivered late. 8 working days. It get's worse when you realise that includes 2 weekends, and my gift missed Mother's Day completely. And it was shop collection, not even proper delivery. Add that there was little communication throughout and any complaints via their e-mail get ignored. Then finally when the parcel arrived, it was the wrong thing. After waiting nearly two weeks, they did not even get the order right. And I was charged shipping for this incorrect order, which should not be my expense because to this day I never received what I had ordered. I returned the incorrect item immediately. I had also sent 4 mails to date, noting the delayed delivery and incorrect charge that should be refunded, but no agent has even deigned to reply. They reckon 24-48 hours from your mail, but we're a couple of weeks in now and not a word. Completely unprofessional.
I have nothing good to say about Rain. I have had no internet since Christmas, it has been a week. They cannot give you any information or estimates. They ignore e-mails, online requests, direct messages via social media and callback requests. When you do speak to an agent they refuse to help you without giving all your information barring a birth certificate, even if it is a non account-related query. And then after all that are still unable to give you any information. I have obviously decided to cancel my account, but now it seems like they want to cancel the account on my billing day despite me having paid for the account in advance from the start. The agents don't understand how this works, so they can't help you. I honestly don't know how to proceed.
There is no part of my Telkom service that I am happy with. Their app is faulty, so you cannot help yourself. Then you need to wrestle with the call center which is shockingly bad. The bot prompts are often incorrect, so when you eventually do get to speak to a human being, it's usually the wrong one. As an added bonus my phone calls have stopped working, I now get scratching or silence. My data has run out, I am unable to recharge via the app because their OTPs aren't working and I am unable to recharge via the call center because their coverage in my area has met a tragic demise so I can't phone. Those are literally the two things I need them for. Add that I have had to block most of their numbers due to their incessant phoning, I used to get around 10 marketing calls a day. That's really borderline harassment. When eventually I do get another contract, it most definitely will not be with Telkom.
Uber South Africa being an absolute gem: "Uber and driver-partners do not take responsibility for items left in the vehicle. However, we try our best to help riders in such scenarios. As your driver-partner has not responded to us so you can freely contact local law enforcement. If you do choose this route, Uber will cooperate with any proper law enforcement request for driver-partner information that may be needed to pursue the matter to its end. Furthermore, we are unable to share any information regarding driver-partner with you according to the uber Privacy Notice." Absolute unwillingness to help. You cannot phone them. You cannot phone their drivers. They clearly won't phone their drivers internally. I will never use Uber again.
This company stole my money. They refuse to refund me even though they never delivered my parcel, it's been over seven months now. They don't even have the decency to respond to my mails anymore. I'm not sure if they ever sent a parcel, what I do know is they don't even have an active tracking number now. They refused to even tell me what their refund procedure is - I suppose for obvious reasons. This seems to be their business model.
