Great service from a Van Schaik manager
What started as poor customer service turned into a 5-star experience when my call was transferred to Alfred Baloyi, an assistant manager. He resolved all issues, took personal responsibility to ensure my order was processed, kept me updated on progress and deliveries, and followed up to check I had received everything. Well done Van Schaik for escalating my call when I requested it, and super well done Alfred for superb customer service.

DSTV bullying tactics for dish and decoder insurance
I had several calls from 011 073 3844 offering insurance cover on my DSTV decoder and dish. I was interested but requested details in writing via email. According to the agents "this wasn't going to happen". The "way it works" according to the agents was that I first had to agree to this insurance after they read the conditions to me. Only then would written details be provided and I had one day to cancel. When I said I was uncomfortable with this, the agent said that my details would be deleted from their database and I would no longer be eligible for the insurance. Is this acceptable?

100% to Checkers 60/60
Checkers 60/60 is amazing - and I use it several times per week. The shopping and delivery times are almost unbelievable. I generally have my delivery within 20 minutes of order. Today I was given a warning before I put in an order that there was a delivery delay. I had regular updates and apologies and my order was delivered after 90 minutes - with the delivery charge reversed. 100% to Checkers!

Excellent after sales service from Hirsch's Fourways
I bought an LG microwave from Hirsch's Fourways about 2 years ago. When it developed a fault I phoned Hirsch's to ask whether they could recommend a repairer. I was surprised that all I needed to do was take the unit to them. They sent it to LG for repair, and called me to fetch it when it was done - all at no cost and with zero hassle! Well done - and especially to Lulu for her clear communications.

Full marks to Jacques vd Schyff of Defendoor in Roodepoort for quick and professional sales service - and lots of "extra mile" assistance during our home building exercise. The end result is great - our gates and bars give protection and they look good too.
