After sales service is non existent. Trying to get hold of senior manager since 28/05/25. I made a large purchase from Takealot on 28/05/25. Order received over 3 weeks later. One book ordered was incorrect. It was returned, and I was assured the correct book would be sourced from supplier. I had to contac Takealot just over a week later, they said they had located the book. Again, I asked for confirmation that it was the correct book, and was assured it was correct. 2 weeks, the book arrived, only to find that it was the same incorrect book that had been sent to me the first time. Again I requested a return. Apparently they say they investigated and found that the book I was looking for had been incorrectly placed on Takealot’s website. They tried to bull S%$t me by saying that the book sent was correct which is absolute *******. It doesn’t even belong to the same set that was advertised. I have made several calls to Takealot as well as a tonne of emails requesting a manager contact me as a matter of urgency. That request has been ignored, and later I get an email from them saying they will issue me a coupon. I immediately refused, saying I would not purchase from them again. I want a refund. They ignored that request, and today, 9/8/25 at 6pm, I received a coupon for the second time. On top of all this they have given me till 22/8/25 to use it. They can go and F%#c themselves. This is a ploy of theirs to force people to go back to them and purchase from them again. Stuff them. Absolute ******* artists. People who should be held accountabile for their businesss don’t have the guts to make themselves available for these sort of issues. They very quick to take your money, but never help you out when things go wrong. Instead, the only people you get to deal with are the supposed consultants who are at best, far under qualified to deal with any issues outside of the standard questions one could get from their chat bot. No idea how to deal with problems, not even capable of escalating a request for management assistance. Positively the worst online company to deal with. Thank God for people like Amazon, Temu and Shein, just for starters. Takealot had better watch the competition. I read another review from an unhappy customer who paid for their goods, it came off their bank, but Takealot cancelled order due to non payment. She has lost R1000 to Takealot, also due to the fact that she could not get anybody to help her from their customer care team. Guess I’m also going to lose my cash, as I’ve been fighting this for 2 months with no resolution. I certainly will not fall into their trap by using a coupon to purchase from them. Disgusting service/treatment from beginning of problem to end. Will never use Takealot again. At a time when businesses should be doing their best to gain customers, people like Takealot are actively chasing customers away to their opposition. Well done Takealot, what a bunch of ****ers. Never ever will I advise people to use Takealot. Both Amazon and Temunow have warehouses in SA.
Nearly 2 months ago our Hisense fridge broke down. After nearly 2weeks we had a technician look at the fridge and found that the compressor had packed up. The fridge was only 18 months old. The part was put on order and to date over a month later no parts have arrived. The parts manager said that they were unable to say when the part was going to arrive if at all. I’m extremely disappointed and angry that the fridge comes with a 5 year guarantee and only 18 months into the guarantee they cannot repair the fridge. I asked the store manager to liaise with Hisense and get them to replace the fridge. Hisense says there are none available in the country as the fridge has been discontinued. We asked for a loan fridge and was told that they do not loan fridges out. The service I have received from Hisense has been absolutely disgusting with no compassion for the customer. It shows that the guarantee offered is absolutely worthless. I now want to personally deal with senior management at Hisense and demand that the fridge be exchanged for an equivalent model to the one I purchased. However nobody can give me any contact details for such interaction. In this heat nobody can live without a fridge but Hisense do not appear to concerned about this. In view of the way in which this problem has been handled I personally will not be purchasing any Hisense Products. I would also caution anybody wanting an appliance or tech products should rather not purchase any Hisense products. Salesmen praise the service and products unknowingly find themselves in effect lying to customers as Hisense are not a company to place any kind of trust in. Rather stick to well established companies such as LG Defy Samsung etc. Shame on you Hisense you do not deserve to have any customers purchasing your products and supporting you. The sooner South Africa is rid of companies like you the better it will be for us all.
First issue is that it is impossible to reach osram SA by phone. When phoning you are greeted by a computer. This lists a bunch of people you can connect with. Big joke. Once you have selected person you wish to speak to SURPRISE you met with another computer instructing you to leave a message. Unfortunately nobody contacts you back so all hopes of speaking to a human at Osram is dashed. No otherway to contact them. All i wanted to report to them is that they appear to be engaging in gross false advertising. Reason i say this is i purchased an osram light bulb estimating 45000 hours life expectancy. My bulb lasted a poultry 2100 hours. So to get some sort of answers for such a huge difference in life expectancy will in all probability remain a mystery. Needless to say I no longer purchase osram products, rather opting for alternative brands. Hopefully someone from Osram sees this and responds.
Worst company I had misfortune to deal with. Received WhatsApp message at 06.19 on the 3/3/23 to say parcel was out for delivery. I made 3 attempts to find out when delivery would be done without any luck. Attempts to reach the delivery driver went unanswered. After waiting in all day for delivery, I received a WhatsApp message at 17.19 to say nobody was home to accept parcel. What a load of trash. No attempt was made to deliver. Three of us were home all day waiting for the parcel. They are plain liars. Don’t use them people, use someone who is reputable. Sorry but you don’t treat customers that way. Not even a phone call from them. Very disappointed.
As per my first comment I received a message from discovery insure where only I could read it. It was a reply not open to the public. Well the things they promised to do were a bunch of lies. I was promised that I would have an agent to take care of me after my agent resigned and they never replaced him. I informed them that I was looking for another insurance carrier. They promised the earth but have stuck to none of it. I now see another part of their scam. You supposed to earning points for driving well. They don’t tell you you loose points for driving bad. Well I took a trip from Scottburgh to winkelspruit, in what I thought was a perfect driving pattern. They deducted several points off me. What I want to know is who the hell gives them the right amount say you driving bad. They not in the car. They take a point off you for harsh braking citing it that you were driving too close to the car in front weren’t following at a decent distance so had to harshly brake. What about driving in the right hand lane of the freeway an someone suddenly pulls out into your lane. What must we do don’t brake harshly in order to keep a perfect score or just hit into him as he did the wrong thing by swerving in front of me. The method of analysing good driving behaviour is floored. I take exception to their scoring method as I have been driving for 47 years and deem myself en excellent driver. So to have your method of scoring penalise me the way it does is despicable. Thank goodness I have found a new carrier. However, I emailed discovery insure to cancel my insurance but to date nobody has been in contact to me to confirm the cancellation details. Typical customer service……ZERO. I WANT A RESPONSE FROM DISCOVERY VIA A PUBLIC RESPONSE NOT A PRIVATE ONE. The people need to know what they dealing with.
Placed order 14/07/22 parcel despatched 15/07/22 parcel received 26/07/22. No communication with me at all despite my many attempts to reach them. Found item did not fit arm chair within 1 hour after receiving it I sms’d the return number and about an hour later I was phoned back and given a return reference number and told a courier would collect. Today is the 11/08/22 and still parcel has not been collected. All this with very little if any contact from them, despite my numerous attempts via phone and email. On the very rare occasion they respond to my email, all they say have your phone on and near you they will phone. They even asked for an alternative number, what do you do when you only got one number. Who takes 3 weeks to have an item collected by a courier. All my other online retailers collect the next day in the event of a return. Homechoice is very quick to respond to selling you something but unfortunately that is where any kind of service stops. I personally will never purchase from them again and I certainly won’t be referring any friends or family to make purchases from them. If I could give them zero stars I would. This company is definitely not a customer friendly comply and wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.
I dealt with a chap from bidvest insurance named Tyron Govender regarding cancellation of my newly acquired tyre angel insurance policy. He was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. He explained the benefits of having the tyre angel cover, but understood why I was cancelling my policy. Despite my explanation for cancellation, Tyrone was very understanding and I truly believed he had my best interests at heart. Nonetheless, he cancelled my policy and followed it up with a letter via email confirming the cancellation of the policy and the debit order. Tyrone has told me that he will keep me on file and will continue to keep me informed of further products that may become available. I found Tyrone to be knowledgeable, friendly and very professional. An agent any firm would be proud to have in their employ. Well done Bidvest.
