Pretorius after being rushed to the ER at Rondebosch Medical Clinic at 1am on Monday morning. Without even knowing me as a patient, he admitted me immediately and saw me first thing during his ward rounds. The ER doctor on call, who was also excellent, worked under his guidance until Dr. Pretorius personally attended to me. From the very first moment, his actions were decisive, compassionate, and life-saving. Dr. Pretorius treats his patients with extraordinary love, kindness, and genuine care. He always enters the room with a warm smile that brings comfort even in the most difficult moments. He listens attentively, takes his time with each patient, and refuses to rest until he uncovers the root cause of the problem. His dedication goes far beyond routine care — he continually investigates, researches, and reassures, making sure you feel both safe and confident that you are in the best possible hands. What sets Dr. Pretorius apart is not only his medical expertise, but also his humility and human touch. His compassion and patience made me feel comfortable and cared for in a way I had not experienced before. I am beyond frustrated with Makro Online’s complete lack of professionalism and customer service. I placed an order (#MAK8932574) 10 days ago, paid in full, and have yet to receive any confirmation of my order or delivery details. Despite numerous emails and calls, including reaching out to their directors and supervisors, I have been completely ignored. When I finally managed to speak to a supervisor, they had no idea where my order was or if the supplier even had stock – yet Makro had already taken my money! I was promised delivery by February 1st, but no one can confirm if this will actually happen. Every time I call, I get the same response: “We don’t know.” This is unacceptable from a company of this size. I have given Makro multiple chances to resolve this, but since they refuse to take my concerns seriously, I will be taking this matter to social media, Hello Peter, and the Consumer Ombudsman. Customers should not have to chase after a company to get basic service after spending their hard-earned money. Save yourself the stress and avoid ordering from Makro Online! I. Hassan
Great Service from Johan at Takealot I want to take a moment to commend Johan from Takealot for his outstanding efforts in resolving my issue. After experiencing significant delays and frustration with the return process for a defective couch, Johan stepped in and truly went above and beyond to assist me. He kept me updated throughout, proactively allocated credit to my profile, and even processed my refund request without waiting for the return to reach the warehouse. His professionalism, clear communication, and commitment to resolving my matter were exceptional. While the overall process was frustrating, Johan’s dedication and ability to come through made all the difference. Thank you, Johan, for turning a negative experience into a positive one.
I am beyond disappointed with Takealot’s service and handling of my defective couch return. Not only was the couch, purchased in July 2024, delivered with multiple defects (loose stitching, discolored fabric, and a loose ottoman lining), but it was further damaged by Takealot’s reckless collection team. They broke the couch’s shelving, chipped its feet, and caused scratches while mishandling it through my door, damaging my property, including my doorframe, tiles, and front door. Despite presenting undeniable evidence (photos and videos) of the damage caused by their team and the couch’s initial defects, Takealot has refused to accept my return. They falsely claimed the damage is “user-caused,” ignoring the clear warranty coverage. Their so-called evaluation of the couch was conducted within minutes of arrival at their facility—an impossible timeframe to assess all the defects properly. What’s worse, Takealot has ignored my repeated emails and calls. Their lack of accountability, poor communication, and disregard for customer complaints is appalling. I am left without a couch, with property damages caused by their team, and no resolution in sight. Takealot’s handling of this matter is dishonest, unprofessional, and unacceptable. I will be escalating this issue to the Consumer Ombudsman and pursuing legal action for both the refund and the property damages. I will also ensure their poor service is exposed across social media platforms. Consumers deserve better than this. Takealot, do better. Respond to your customers and take responsibility for your mistakes.
I recently had a deeply unsatisfactory experience with MD Inc ER at Life Kingsbury Hospital. After waiting for three hours, I was finally attended to by Dr. Coetzee. During her examination, she acknowledged that having diarrhea for four weeks is abnormal and noted that I was dehydrated, recommending admission for further investigation. She also mentioned that blood tests would determine whether I needed to be admitted to High Care or a medical ward for further investigation However, after the blood test results came back an hour later, Dr. Coetzee suddenly changed her stance. She claimed that after consulting with my physician, they decided to discharge me because the symptoms were allegedly caused by strong pain medication I was taking. This was not accurate, as I had stopped taking the pain medication the previous Friday, following my spine surgeon’s advice, to see if the diarrhea would subside—which it clearly did not, leading to my visit to the ER feeling weak. Without conducting a stool test, Dr. Coetzee reversed her entire diagnosis, saying that there was nothing wrong and that I should do a stool test at home and bring it back to her within an hour. She did not formally discharge me; instead, I had to request a nurse to assist with the discharge process. It’s clear that this ER prioritizes making money over providing proper patient care. Their disregard for my health and well-being was evident, and I believe their practices should be reported to the medical board. I would not recommend MD Inc ER at Life Kingsbury Hospital to anyone in need of urgent and thorough medical attention.
My son recently completed his Matric through UCT Online High School, an institution that, regrettably, has left us deeply disappointed. It has come to our attention that the final exams, facilitated by SACAI, have yielded outcomes that are not only disheartening but, more alarmingly, seem to be marred by a grave injustice. According to recent revelations, SACAI, responsible for overseeing these examinations, has allegedly undermarked students nationwide. What is even more distressing is the explanation provided, suggesting that an umalusi computerized standardization system has arbitrarily altered SACAI's results. This revelation of a computerized system altering the results of every Matric student is deeply troubling. As concerned parents, we cannot stand idly by while such a critical aspect of our children's futures is left to the mercy of a seemingly flawed and unjust process. The ramifications of these actions are severe, as they have not only compromised the academic standing of all matriculants but have also jeopardized their chances of gaining admission to universities. It is imperative that SACAI and UCT Online High School take immediate responsibility for their actions and rectify this situation promptly. To address this matter, we have initiated a petition calling for a manual remarking of all students' exam papers. We strongly urge both SACAI and UCT Online High School to heed this call for fairness and uphold the integrity of the examination process. The failure to rectify this situation promptly will not be tolerated, as it has not only disrupted our children's academic journey but also impacted their future prospects. We demand swift action and transparency in addressing this issue to restore the trust and confidence in the education system that has been severely undermined. We will not rest until SACAI and UCT Online High School take decisive steps to rectify this situation and ensure that justice is served for all affected students.
