I am rating three Mugg and Beans which i have had the pleasure of visiting in the last three days. 1. Cape Town - corner of St George's Mall (25 October 2025) and Riebeck 2. Oliver Tambo airport - International Departures (26 October 2025) 3. Manda Hill Mall - Lusaka (27 October 2025). At the Cape Town branch I ordered a full Italian Baguette. Scores 10/10 for the baguette and 6/10 for service. At the airport I ordered a full Italian Baguette. Scores 8/10 for the baguette - It didnt have as many peppers and olives like Cape town. 10/10 for service...big up to Farai!. In Lusaka i ordered a roast beef Baguette ( they didnt have full Italian so i settled). 4/10 for the Baguette and 9/10 for service. The Roast beef baguette in lusaka was dry, with a thin slice of beef, very little thin slice of cheese, and some onion fried in crumb - best part of the baguette. ORT and Lusaka (especially Lusaka) can learn how to make a juicy scrumptious baguette .....on the other hand Cape Town can learn about service from their counterparts. But Lusaka.....please improve.
Multichoice Zambia breaches the contract. I signed up for COMPACT. They unilaterally decide to upgrade you to Compact Plus, without letting you agree to it, and they say its a bonus. Then the next month they want you to pay Compact plus. This is dishonest. If they decide to give me a bonus, in the next month, let them revert to what i signed up for which is COMPACT. Or else we willl meet in court.
The other day I got a text message from Cell C to sign up for some daily quiz. I pressed the sign-up button by error. However, since it says if you send STOP to 14788 you cancel the subscription. I sent STOP to 14788. to my dismay I received the quiz the next day! Sent STOP to 14788 again......yet i keep getting the daily quiz which I HAVE CANCELLED. So I keep getting charged!!!
I am currently working outside the country and had my phone ****** including my cell c sim card. Ive been trying to get a replacement and had an unRICAD Sim couriered to me. As you may understand, a sim card when you are away from home is an important tool. All OTP's come through the phone and any communication is through the SIM. Now to get the SIM card RICAd the most foolish questions are asked like when did you last recharge your phone. Do people take note of time and date of such? Some days we recharge 10 times a day and sometimes we recharge once a month, then other questions are like frequently called numbers. I dont call a lot of numbers because Im oversees, but it seems even the ones I call are not satisfactory. So I FAILED the test which the system marked. There are no alternative tests or questions, no help, no escalation process! I NEED MY SIM. It seems it doesnt help that I have had this number for probably 18 to 19 years!!
Take a lot have bad service, and then they dont allow you to give reviews on their service, you can only review the goods you buy through them. They dont give any channel to review their service. so we are forced to come to Hello Peter to review them and I dont know if they read and respond to Hello Peter.
The branch in Zambia is increasing fees by 33.3% to 87.5% from 29th June 2024. Already their billing cycle is not consistent. They are taking advantage of a monopoly and therefore we customers are expected to accept whatever they dish us.
Take-a-lot have a way of advertising where they state that some items are in stock and can therefore be shipped on the next working day. I was travelling to Cape Town and needed some goods whilst I was in Cape Town. Knowing I would be there for three days, I ordered good which would be delivered on the following day. After making the order and paying, then only did it state that the good would be delivered after ONE WEEK and not ONE DAY! I did contact them and they have rescheduled the delivery back to my usual address, however, I had specifically wanted the goods for Cape Town. I complained to some friends, and found that TAKEALOT does this regularly, some other friends of mine have also experienced the same where they order goods for next day service and only to receive the goods after one week. Take a lot are too big a brand to work on LIES and mistruths.
This is for the Zambian Branch. I have asked for a report however have been unable to access the report as I always get a response that my session has expired, despite me trying to access the report within seconds of receiving the code. I have tried calling the five numbers shown on the company's site. Two go unanswered and the other three are not available. I have sent an email and there has been no response.
A Board Pack from Kalulushi to Lusaka which normally takes one day took 3 days. Package was dispatched on 19th March 2024 for delivery on 20th March 2024. No delivery on the 20th. On the 21st the courier rang me (his number is +260 978053311) asking for directions to my house. He was infact not even in my areas which is strange considering this is a courier company and must have GPS or even use google locations. This was around 13:00hrs. Anyway I sent him a google location pin and the address. Yet he still didnt deliver! On the 22nd March, 2024 I flew to Kalulushi for my meeting WITHOUT my bFeoard pack. Fedex should realise we use express couriers exactlly for that reason.
I normally have no problems with Take a Lot. Infact its my "go to" when I am looking for something. But on my last order, my order had one item missing. In my review I mentioned that i was short delivered but there has been no action. I think its the supplier however, my contract is with Take a Lot and not the supplier so I expect Take a lot to follow up with the supplier.
