I signed up for a month-to-month policy with this insurance company, starting 28th of November, they say. However, I didn’t the inspection on the 2nd of December, which they officially deducted the first payment that day. Since then, I’ve paid reliably each month (set payment date is the 25th): December 24 (for January), January25 (for February), and February 25 (for March). That’s four payments total, including the initial one, covering me through March. Now, when I try to make a legitimate claim, they’re refusing to process it unless I make a fifth payment for March AGAIN. Their ad claims my payments are “backwards” (covering future months), but their policy clearly states month-to-month coverage. Despite my payments aligning with this, they’re insisting I owe another for March, even though February already covered it. This is misleading billing at best and a barrier to claims at worst. Avoid 1st for women customer service and unfair practices.
This company has repeatedly overcharged me through the app and cannot account for the extra amounts. Every month I have to complain about the same issue. Houss Property needs to sort this out because they will lose tenants; their property is good, but the way the electricity, hot and cold water billing is handled feels dishonest and unprofessional.
This company transported my furniture from Johannesburg to Cape Town. The communication was good before they picked up my items, but after I received them with damage, they went silent. I have sent multiple emails regarding the items damaged in transit, but they never responded. Instead, they asked me to rate the level of service I received without acknowledging the damage caused. Even their drivers took pictures of the damaged items at their warehouse (where they sort out deliveries), yet no one has reached out, and it has been over a week now.
Stay away from Apartments/ Properties that are owned by Alleyroads. 1. The service is horrible and they don’t do maintenance. 2. You will have to run after them to get your deposit while they respond to your texts or emails with just ‘okay’. 3. Read your lease agreement because they will tell you that to get the refund of your deposit takes 21 working days whereas the lease says 14 working days. They will do whatever it takes to run away from refunding the deposit.

The sales person refused to assist me just because my number is no longer on contract and the company isn’t going to benefit 😳
Don’t go anywhere near this insurance
Palm Springs Apartments are such a mess, no maintenance and the caretaker is very disrespectful.
