Stopped by the complex during our travels to have lunch. A big store with plenty of seating available but we had to ask for our table to be cleaned as it was not. We ordered the mini/sliders platter which consisted of 6 mini burgers ie. 2 of each which is falafels, chicken strips and boerie burgers. The burgers were okay as were the drinks ie. Iced coffee, watermelon fizz, bottomless coffee and a cappuccino. The food did take a little long to arrive seeing as the store was not too busy. More attention needs to be paid to the preparation of the food as the buns were a little hard and contained too much of sauce on it. The falafels were oily ,crumbly and only half a falafel was added to one burger. Overall an okay experience and I would revisit.
Very friendly staff. Clean restaurant. One star short since one of the 5 pizza pies fell apart upon attempting to remove it from the packet. I realised that the one was just not put together well and was under-cooked, but they were busy. It rarely happens. Other 4 was perfect. Other than that great service. I am impressed with how the Romans in my area has been able to improve over time. They use to be way too oily for consumption, but they seem to be using different bread or something this time around. Keep improving on your recipes and adding more! I love the pizza overall.
I am not sure if they throttle new users hoping that they will not know, but most the time ping is over 200ms, download only at 260KBPS, and upload is only around 120KBPS. Videos and music take over 10 to 20 seconds to start, then experience frequent drops. Also sometimes Changes from 4G LTE to 3G, so then cannot access the internet or listen to music till I switch between a couple APN settings (the ones that say fast). So forget tethering at these low speeds. I would ha e been better off buying just a Sim card without plan and activating on their page, at least get 4g and unlimited tethering at fast speeds.
Beware of **** reviews that do not reflect the reality of this business' terrible services.
I live second in Nelspruit and was able to get it shipped there so I would be ready when arriving from Bloem. Although the card it comes with is not official MTN, it worked on that network really well. I activated it before leaving Bloem and had it on the way. I got fast speeds throughout the Free State and all in Gauteng. It was slow at in the last half hour of the drive but I didn’t care because I was almost done. Great job to the folks at Openweb! I hope you stay in business for a long time because you are providing a product that people need. I was not able to find anything similar through MTN themselves strange enough. BTW, you DON'T need the MTN app to use this card. I was advised by staff not to use it becuase they will f*ck up the SIM.
The shopping Centre has a wide range of shops in it. Convenient to those using public transport, with taxi ranks near and around it. However the taxis around it make it impossible to enter the Centre, particularly if you'll be driving there. The chaos around the Centre is the only downside to it really. The mall itself is just meh. There is no AC which is shocking. I think that Taxis should be made ******* in KZN becuase they really ruin it for everyone else in the area.
The weirdest (in a bad way) we have ever had in a Sheraton / Marriott Hotel. When we parked in the underground parking, we saw that parking would be charged at 8R for an hour or 80 Rand for I think 8 hours. Which hotel charges its paying customers for private parking? The 3 of us arrived at 2pm & went up to the lobby and inquired about their restaurant Magnolia which they said was serving lunch. When we reached the restaurant, they wouldn't let us sit in the restaurant, but seated us in the coffee lounge. Large comfortable chairs, but tiny, low tables - not at all conducive to eating a meal. Service was extremely lackadaisical & the staff seemed irritated that we had even walked in. They brought us a half page menu with 8-10 items on it. All of which were either carb heavy or deep fried, the one salad had a sugary honey dressing. So we decided not to eat here, but we did want to have coffee. We asked for their drinks menu, they said they didn't have one. What? How is a customer supposed to know how much they will be charged? Anyway, given we were tired and it was hot outside, we ordered coffee and the bill. The server quoted an amount. We said that we would need a printed bill. When the printed bill arrived, the total was 15% less than what she had quoted! We paid that and then headed to the front desk to pay the parking fee. They insisted that the parking rate was 10Rand. They said they did not issue tickets and insisted that we pay in cash. They signed something at the back of the parking validation, which the parking attendant kept when letting us out of the garage. The whole experience was extremely unsettling. If we hadn't already had brilliant experiences at Sheratons across the globe, we would never return to a Sheraton based on today's experience. We are definitely never setting foot in this one ever again. Avoid, avoid, avoid!
In what world is this hotel where the staff beg for tips around every corner and charge you absurd rates just to get a drink poured for you at their restaurants justify the 5 stars? I do not think that this hotel makes that cut at all. The room filled with ****roaches. We have to call front desk and ask to change room at 10:30PM. Food is edible at best. We ordered sirloin steak and fish&chip, both of us can’t finish as they were bad. Of course, this cost nearly R1000. The buffet is just as lacklustre. Spa room is scary. No AC on, we had little fan which making funny noise. Massage is fine. The hotel really need to change ASAP. We probably won’t come back ever again. The price is not work what you get. Two stars is being generous.
Was so excited to return back to La Montagne as used to come with my parents when I was a child. So disappointed. The pictures and website paints a different picture to reality. Reception is in dire need of an upgrade. We are on the second floor and the entrance ways are old and shoddy and it gives you a feeling of dirt and grime and not at all the feeling you want to have on holiday, totally rundown. Asked for an extra pillow 3 times before it arrived. No parking arranged beside it being requested when booking. Room is nice however no toaster and wardrobe with no shelves only hanging space. There should be gates between the units for some additional privacy and to stop kinds running between outside area facing ocean. View is OUTSTANDING! That is what is keeping this place afloat. Pizza was excellent really delicious. Should be able to book room service to room number. Porter helped with bags and was wonderful. Understand that renovations are happening but it feels very disjointed and certain parts are decent and others **********. I will not be returning until entire renovation is done and only after seeing some decent reviews - my opinion seems to be shared with multiple other people. What can you do La Montagne? Be straight up with your guests and let them know upfront - make it clear and give a choice to pay more to stay in a better portion of the hotel. We feel pushed to a portion of the hotel that is in dire need of work. Outside around pool is lovely. Just disappointed in general - doesn’t not feel like a luxury stay whatsoever
Don't buy Samsung. We bought a freezer and it was problematic immediately. We bought Samsung expecting quality and good service but got conned. It's pathetic that a brand new freezer was faulty and not repaired. They promised to fix it many times from the first month but never did. It's been 2 years and we have lost so many food items. Samsung refused to acknowledge its problem and sent it back everytime without fixing it. It's just defrosted again and we lost food items again. Samsung has refused to fix it. Don't waste your money. Buy from a company that will give you a quality product.
