Ordered a pair of Jabra Elite 8 Actives on 15/12. On 20/12 I call in to enquire why my order is 'On Hold' - only to be told sorry the item is out of stock, you have to wait 14 days for a refund. IC your service and communication is shocking. If I hadn't called in to confirm, my wife wouldn't have received her Christmas present. Last you'll be seeing of me.
Great estate with loads of amenities. It has a fantastic golf course and loads of running and cycling routes!
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Abalone Hotel in Paternoster, and I can’t recommend it enough! The quality of the accommodation far exceeded my expectations—beautifully appointed rooms with all the comforts you could wish for. The ocean views were absolutely stunning, and waking up to the sound of the waves each morning was magical. What truly set this stay apart was the staff. They were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always willing to go above and beyond. I had an early start one morning and requested breakfast at 6:30, even though service normally begins at 7:30, and they happily catered to my request without any fuss. If you’re looking for a relaxing and luxurious stay in Paternoster, Abalone Hotel is the only choice!
I had an excellent experience with Woodford Car Rental! The service from the gentlemen at the collection was top-notch – they were friendly, and efficient, and made the whole process smooth. The car I received was fantastic and exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort and performance. I opted for the full cover waiver for peace of mind, which was reasonably priced and definitely worth it. Overall, their rates were highly competitive and better than many other rental companies I’ve used in the past. Best of all, there were no nasty surprises when I returned the vehicle – everything was transparent and hassle-free. I highly recommend Woodford to anyone looking for great service and value!
I have been a Discovery Insure client for years now. Last September (2022) I bought a new car and added this to my policy. I opted for Discovery's inhouse tracker which would double up as a tool for tracking driving performance for their drive program. This unit has not worked from Day 1. After logging numerous queries the unit was 'evaluated and repaired'. The DQ-Tracker logs my drives successfully - but the information does not pull through and update the Discovery application accordingly. As a result, I have not been able to meet rewards, am penalised across their 'integrated rewards offering' and even after following up time and time again....the only response I get it 'the technical team are looking at it'. @Discovery - I have been a loyal client and advocate of your brand for many years. But even I am getting tired and will switch ALL my policies if this is not resolved soon.
It seems we have received a watered-down version of the full Disney+ offering. The user interface is utter rubbish and very glitchy. Most content won't play at 4k (I have a 500mbps line with a VERY good home network). Content on STAR doesn't auto play on my LG TV - instead, it gets stuck on the buffering screen meaning i have to 'fiddle' until it comes on. The ability to move along the show is limited to a 10s jump (this would be fine if Disney+ actually synced between my devices - but it doesn't, hence the manual intervention). The content itself is great and their only saving grace right now. Hoping they can move SA to the Disney+ platform that is utilised across Europe and the States.

Worthy of zero stars.... Placed an order on the 13th of December under the promise that the item would be delivered before Christmas. It is now the 30th (December) 15.00 and no delivery. Have called their helpdesk 4 times since the 27th and am greeted with the same, non-committal response of 'we are following up'. I was eventually given the number of Riversands branch where the item is supposedly pending with the courier (since the 17th) but have been waiting for over an hour now. This is not good enough.
I had a key break in an internal door. I could not get the loose piece out of the lock so I called a locksmith which I found after a quick Google search. M.S.D. Emergency Locksmith was the first on the list so dropped them a message and they responded to say someone would be at the premises at an approximate time. They do tell you upfront that the call out is R200 and they will quote depending on the job once they've inspected...all sounds reasonable so far. The locksmith that arrived was shown the door and only asked to open it. I had to get onto a call so asked him to inspect and advise. Locksmith ended up drilling through the old lock (rendering it completely unusable even though this was a 6-month-old Yale 2 lever lock), got the door open, and installed a cheap 2 lever lock in its place...this was all done without him coming to me with a quote as we had earlier discussed. Locksmith then presents me with a bill for R2400!!! This comprised of the call-out, a R1000 opening fee, and another R1200 for simply slotting in a VERY cheap lock in place. These prices are not only over the top but the business practice, in my opinion, is simply unethical. Do not fall for these tactics. Insist on an upfront quote before work is started. If work is done without your explicit consent then you have every right to reject the quotation thereafter.
