I buy quite frequently from Takealot and in general have had a good experience with them. I also like that they have collecting points in major cities. Recently however, I've had a bad experience with them when I ordered a Sandisk micro SD card. When I opened the delivery box after collecting the item from their pickup point, which is 20 km from my home, I saw that the card was ****. It looked exactly like a Sandisk product, colours and and all, but nowhere was it marked "Sandisk". I arranged with Takealot to return it, so back I went to the pickup point. The terms of returning a product states that it has to be in the original product packaging, which it was, as I had not even removed the card from its blister pack. At the pickup point the staff however refused to accept it, stating that it must also be in the delivery box, as it is a small item and could easily be lost. Surely they had a spare box somewhere they could use? But back I went home, and returned with the delivery box which they then accepted. So all in all I had to travel 120 km. I opted for a refund, but had I chosen a replacement, and had to pick it up from the collection point, my total distance would have been 160 km. When I wrote a review about the **** card to warn other buyers to be on the lookout, Takealot rejected the review, stating that they "are investigating, and would get back to me". Obviously that's just garbage, because they have already refunded me, thereby acknowledging that the item was indeed ****. So one has to question Takealot's transparency when it comes to **** products. I guess they are protecting their vendors, but what about their customers? Don't they have the right to know about **** products?
Transactions with Payfast has always been fast and efficient. I appreciate the fact that I was still able to cancel a transaction at the last moment when I realized I had made a mistake with my order.
I've always find the helpline agents friendly and helpful. Today Ishmael was very friendly and helpful. The automated part of the call centre itself is however not very efficient. It almost never identifies my account, and things only work well once I manage to reach an agent. It also does not seem to help leaving a query on the web. After two days no response, so I had to get help by phoning the call centre.
Trying to upgrade my ADSL contract with Mweb to an LTE one while keeping my email addresses. No response from their sales team or their technical team after five days.
Five stars for the team from RF Technologies in Bloemfontein that repaired my satellite dish in a jiffy. I can really recommend them for fast and professional service.
Just a thank you for the friendly staff at the Bain's Vlei post office near Bloemfontein. Always friendly and helpful, in stark contrast to the national Post Office itself, which seems to be at an all time low (been waiting for overseas parcels for months).
I've had a reasonable good experience importing stuff from Banggood in China via Buffalo. Lately however I often get the following message from Banggood when placing an order: "We regret to inform you that the item can't be shipped with the shipping method you chose due to some specific restrictions of the logistics carrier." No explanation is given why Buffalo won't ship the order, and I just have to cancel the order and ask for a refund. The stuff I order are just ordinary small electronic gadgets.
Just want to give a positive shout-out to The Courier Guy's Bloemfontein depot. Over the last few years I've had by far the best and most friendly service from them, amongst all of the many couriers I've used.
I've been using a Rain product for about two years now, and have been reasonably happy, apart from the lower speeds these days and the throttling in the evening. So I decided to get another product from them, but what a pain the Rica process was. They only managed to do it after 9 (nine) days, after promising it would only take 15 minutes. They really should do better than this.
Thieves trying to steal an overhead telephone cable cut it near my property, leaving me with no telephone or ADSL service. A technician came out within a day of so of my reporting the problem, and determined that the line was cut. Although fixing overhead lines is not his speciality, he returned the next day to apply a temporary fix. I must say that over many years I've always had good service from Telkom/Openserve technicians in my area (Bain's Vlei, Bloemfontein).
