3. Earlier this year, I requested ACS Projects (Pty) Ltd with Company Registration Number 2023/749615/06 with registered business address situated at 105 5th Avenue, Roodepoort, Johannesburg, 1729, owned by Anton Smit (hereinafter referred to as “Anton”) and managed by Ruan Rautenbach (hereinafter referred to as “Ruan”), to quote on construction and/or building renovations at my residence. 4. The cellphone contact details for Anton is 079 051 9745 and for Ruan, 066 095 3779. Anton’s vehicle registration number is KB46DW – GP and Ruan’s is LV86LH – GP. 5. On or about 5 April 2024 and after the inspection of my residence by Anton, I received Quote QUO 0276 for R575 630.00 (five hundred and seventy-five thousand, six hundred and thirty rand) (attached hereto as Annexure “A1”) 6. I requested the garage and new bedroom conversion to be done first (Phase 1). An ancillary quote was sent to me by Anton for the first phase of the project. The quote with Serial Number 15, for R228 340.00 (two hundred and twenty-eight thousand, three hundred and forty rand) was received by me on 28 May 2024. (Attached hereto as Annexure “A2”). 7. On or about 24 June 2024, I sent an email detailing the scope of work to be done based on the ancillary quote as this information was not provided in the said quote. Anton Smit confirmed the scope of work on 25 June 2024. (Emails attached as Annexure “B1 – B2”). 8. I accepted the quote and paid Anton a deposit of R160 000.00 (one hundred and sixty thousand rand) on 26 June 2024. This payment was based on a 70% deposit as outlined in the quote with the balance (30%) only becoming due on completion of the work. (My acceptance is attached as Annexure “C”). 9. Anton and his crew commenced work commenced on 01 July 2024. On 19 July 2024, Anton advised me that his parents were ******ed on their farm, and he requested an advance of R50 000.00 (fifty thousand rand) on the remaining balance. (Attached as Annexure “D”) 10. At the end of July 2024, I requested we continue with the remainder of the project and agreed to pay him a further R190 000.00 (one hundred and ninety thousand rand). This was calculated as 70% of the remainder of the original quote (R575 630.00) minus R228 340.00 (in respect of the ancillary quote for Phase 1) minus R70 000.00 (amount allocated to tiles and fittings). 11. I made payment of the said amount to Anton on 01 August 2024. (Proof attached as Annexure “E”). I also requested a detailed quote in respect of the remainder of the project (Phase 2) and was not provided with same. Therefore, I provided Anton with the detailed outline of work to be done in terms of the entire renovation project. 12. On the 6 August 2024, Ruan requested another advance of R12 000.00 (twelve thousand rand). When I informed him and Anton that I would not be making any additional payments until there had been more progress on the project, I was verbally abused but both Anton and Ruan. 13. On the 24 August 2024, Anton requested another advance of R12 000.00 (twelve thousand rand) via WhatsApp, which I would not pay due to lack of progress. I emailed him to explain my reason for no further advance. (Attached hereto as Annexure “F”) 14. On 28 August 2024, I requested work to be removed from the original quote, as the situation regarding the renovation work was becoming unbearable as they were making no significant progress due to lack of building material on site that Anton and Ruan was to supply. (Email attached hereto as Annexure “G”). 15. On 29 August 2024, I sent an email listing the work that was to be done, and detailing the work that was no longer to be done and I requested new, adjusted, quote. (Email attached as Annexure “H”.) 16. On 30 August 2024, Anton responded, requesting payment of R18 000.00 (eighteen thousand rand) (email attached as Annexure “I”) 17. On 30 August 2024, I responded via email and advised Anton that based on the work outstanding, I could not make any more payments. (Attached as Annexure “J”). 18. On 30 August 2024, Anton became aggressive and abusive as I would not pay anymore money. I had paid 82% of the quote on a project that was not even 60% complete. (attached correspondences as annexures “K”, ”L” and “M”) 19. On 30 August 2024, Ruan sent threatening messages via WhatsApp and SMS harassing me to pay them more money or work would not continue. 20. On 2 September 2024, I contacted an attorney, Paksini Govender, at a law firm, Govender Law. A lawyer’s letter of demand was sent to Anton on the 3 September 2024. He responded to my attorney on 4 September 24 refusing to comply and I instructed my attorney to concede to certain of his demands and placed him on terms on 5 September 2024. Anton agreed to the compromise and terms and signed his acceptance on the previous letter. (Attached as proof are all the relevant correspondences marked Annexure “N1 – 6.”) 21. As agreed, Anton and his crew returned to my premises on the 6 September 2024 and did some work but not all work as requested was complete and not to standard. Nevertheless, I paid him R10 000.00 as a further advance as agreed. (Proof attached as annexure “O”.) 22. Anton return on the 9 September 2024, but he did not return to site after that day. 23. Only 2 (two) workers were dropped off from the 10 to 13 September 2024 to continue work on the renovations but they were not given any material to work with. I had to purchase material in the amount of R895.00 (eight hundred and ninety-five rand) to keep the renovation on track. 24. I had contacted the lawyers again on Monday,16 September 2024 as the project deadline where work was to be completed was on18 September 2024. Correspondences exchanged between the attorney and Anton are attached as Annexure “P1 – P2”. 25. On 17 September 2024, I was informed by the kitchen company that Anton had not ordered or paid for my kitchen that was due to be installed on the 18 September. The quote for the kitchen was R88 590. 70% of this should have been paid by Anton, from the deposit I paid him on 1 August 2024. (Correspondence has been attached as annexure “Q1 – Q2”). 26. Anton and his workers never returned to site after 13 September 2024. My house was left unfinished with no kitchen, no bathroom, no lounge, no bedroom, and all other rooms only partly complete. 27. My attorney sent a final letter of demand to Anton on 30 September 2024 to which no response was received from Anton. (Attached as Annexure “R”) 28. I have attached a complete list of the work paid for that has not been completed by Anton as annexure “S”. Further, pictures of state of my property as at 17 September 2024 as been attached as annexure “T”. 29. I have had no other option but to engage the services of another company to complete the work and to engage with HBT Woodworks for the kitchen, cupboards, and vanity. I have had to buy all materials and pay for labour as my property was inhabitable, and I have my elderly parents of 89 and 86 living with me. It has cost me an amount of R175 500.00 (one hundred and seventy-five thousand and five hundred rand). A breakdown of the cost has been attached as Annexure “U”. 30. I have since been contacted by a lady in Pretoria named Marlene who also paid over R95 000.00 to Anton. She advised me that he similarly abandoned the job halfway and left her with no kitchen. Her cellphone number is 079 500 0503. 31. As a result of Anton’s ******** and ********* conduct, I have been de*****ed and/or ****** from under false pretences rendering me severely financially prejudiced. I have also uncovered that Anton and his company are not even registered with the National Home Builder’s Registration Council, which in and of itself, is a ******** offence. 32. By my calculations, which can be supported by the annexures the total amount of money that I have been de*****ed for by Anton or that Anton has ****** from me is R147 350.00 [One hundred and forty-seven thousand and three hundred and fifty rands]. I beg that he be ********ly investigated and charged in accordance.
**** service. please come and remove you **** out of my house, else i will and dump it on the pavement your installation staff came here and install the stuff and it is not working, they were rude, their pants will down below the asses and i had to look at the hole in their underpants, they left a mess that i had to clean up and i still have no fibre
I had a UCOUNT reward voucher which Incredible Connection processed. Due to a pricing issue (price advertised on web is not what you are charged ... overcharging as usual) the gave me a discount and then wanted the voucher number again ... obviously the voucher had been used, so the voucher was no longer available on the app. Needless to say they would not give me the decoder i paid for ... R500 down the drain. A bunch of thief's!!!!
@HOME does not even deserve 1 star but i was forced to enter something .... half their products are not available for online shopping, then trying to find a store that has stock is impossible as the website says there is stock but when you go there, there is no stock or it is damaged stock this after i traveled 50 km's .... then you phone the stores that apparently have stock and you get given one BS story after the other ... so tired of bad service ...
Etienne and the team that did the move were friendly, helpful and very professional. It was a pleasure dealing with them and I would recommend them to anyone wanting to move.
I have the following issue with dis-chem: 1 - They advertise products on special but never have any stock while the promotion is on, but the day the promotions ends, the shelves are restocked!!! (Spectrum Senior 300) 2 - On-line shopping - Items that are readily available in the stores cannot be bought on line (Cipla Airmune) We are in a pandemic, the most vulnerable are the old and sick, plus out death rate is high but you are forced to go to Dis-chem as you cannot shop on line ... a company in the medical field should be the ones promoting on line shopping especially when it comes to health related products.
Bad service one again at strubens valley. Dispensary manager has left, there 14 people in the queue and 4 people serving. They make the elderly wait in a queue where social distancing is not adhered to. There are two chairs for pensioners but the old people get ignored. Places like this should not be aLlowed to trade as the put peoples life at risk. And then the healt minister wants to know why the numbers are increasing ....
I purchased a new Note 20 and have been trying to claim my R4000 voucher ... the Samsung members app does not accept the invoice even though it is in a pdf format. Via chat, no one can assist, via telephone, no one can assist, via email no one replies ... so what now ..... salse advertising and useless customer service.
I don't often write reviews but I do read them and was very concerned when I read some of the negative reviews about Rain but by then I had paid my money but I must confess it has been ages since I have received such prompt, efficient and amazing service. I placed my order on Friday. I had a query which was resolved on Saturday morning by Gomolemo. My 5G modem was delivered at 14:57 today, my sim was activated by 16:07 and I was up and running by 16:15. No hassle, no drama and no fuss .... Just amazing.
