Active since May 2016
I was contacted by a sales person from MTN who offered me an additional data contract. The deal seemed to suit my needs, so I accepted the additional contract., this was on the 16th of July. I then received the data sim on the 22nd of July. I think self rica'd and expected the sim to be active within 24 hours or so. two days later the sim was still not active. I then began calling MTN. I then was told to wait 24 more hours, which I did, then called again. I was then told to wait another 24 hours. I have since been told many differtent things, been to 3 different MTN stores. None have been able to assist. the stores tell me to call 135, and 135 tells me to go into the store. The amount of energy this has wasted is not worth any amount of money, I would actually prefer to just completely close all of my MTN contracts, including the one I have had for over 20 years
My fiance was not having a good day at work. I thought I would take a chance and see if I could still get flowers delivered to her work today, and it showed that delivery for today was still possible. I then dont hear about her receiving her surprise all day, and later after 6pm after she is already home, she said someone called her asking for her home address. her message to me was: "Someone called to drop off a parcel and asked for my address. I gave yours because I was nervous to just give my address". So there we have it, the flowers I ordered as a surprise for my fiance came to me, so ultimately I bought and delivered flowers to myself. Completely useless, and the surprise ruined. I would have done something else to help make her day better if you could not deliver today, but I would say that it is now worse off because I seemed to have done nothing to try help her day. Now I sit with these old flowers at my house and I have no use for them, and they were damn expensive. Would recommend if you want to do a nice gesture for someone, just do it yourself.
If you are considering taking an AA warranty out, do not bother. I have had various motor plans with the cars I have owned, but had never needed to claim. When buying my car about 2 years ago, I was told that the best warranty is from AA, although being about double the cost. I was told that other warranty providers cover only a small portion of claims, where AA would cover complete claims and leave you in the same position before making the claim, so I spoke with the sales people who I gave various scenarios to and asked what they would cover, and each time I was told that I would have complete cover. about a month ago, my car started firing on 3 cylinders. The car made the 1 km trip back home. I was then advised that it could just be an ignition coil that failed, and was told to drive the car to the mechanic. They then confirmed that there was no compression in cylinder 1. The car was then taken to a specialist repair shop, who then stripped the car down and found that the number 1 cylinder was damaged. The assessor found that it was due to a failed injector or something like that. The fact is I don't care why it failed, but I was told I had cover for this type of thing. The report from the mechanic said the engine requires and entire rebuild at a cost of R70k+. AA state: :"As per both reports confirm the root cause of this issue can be attributed to the deterioration of the Teflon seal on the piston number 1 .The Teflon seal had burnt away, causing a compromised seal in the cylinder. This compromised seal, in turn, allowed for additional air intake into the combustion chamber, resulting in the damage observed. The claim payout limit for overheating is R7826.09." Bottom line is, they are only willing to cover around 10% of the claim. I am in the process of taking them to court for my money back as this is not what I was sold when buying the car. I recommend you save your 20k odd that the cover costs, and avoid all of this drama. My legal costs will be about 10k in hopes to get back the original 20k spent on the car and they just hope that people don't go this route as it will cost money for little gain taking them to court, but someone has to stand up for the little man.
Miway's refusal to cover my failed laptop is a clear indication of their poor service and lack of transparency. It is unacceptable for an insurance company to deny a claim when the customer was under the impression that they had comprehensive coverage. Their decision to hide behind fine print exclusions is not only dishonest but has also left me feeling frustrated and helpless. As a customer, you rely on your insurance company to protect you when you need it most. Unfortunately, Miway seems to be more interested in collecting premiums than providing quality service. If they can deny a claim for something as simple as a failed graphics card on the laptop, what else are they not covering that you thought you were protected against? Furthermore, their lack of speed and support throughout the claim process only added to the frustration. Instead of working with me to find a solution, they seem content to leave me in the dark to wait, without a laptop, while they spend over a week with a simple assessment. This is not the level of customer service that you expect from a reputable insurance company. Overall, I would strongly advise against using Miway for your insurance needs. Their refusal to cover my laptop and lack of transparency are major red flags that should make you think twice before entrusting them with your money and protection. There are plenty of other insurance companies out there that will provide you with the coverage and support that you deserve.
Be careful, do not use Auto & General. I am very thorough when selecting insurance as you can imagine that if a large claim is for some reason not paid out it can be financially ruining. I did my research and asked all the questions when considering using A&G, but when my wife one day used my new car to take our sons friend home, she crashed the car. The repair cost was valued to something like R380k. They sent out an investigator as if I had committed some type of crime. All in all, I have been rudely treated, accused of driving the car, which I did not, and in the end my claim was rejected due to my wife's apparent speeding, which is not like her at all. I don't think she has ever received a speeding ticket in one of our vehicles, and instead it seems to be inline with her report of accidentally pushing the accelerator instead of the break having only driven my new car twice before. I am now sitting out of pocket and my only mistake was selecting the wrong insurance company to cover my car...
Platinum life has been very honest and helpful with me, even tailoring my account to suit my needs
I ordered a mobile data contract with a laptop through MTN Online. They delivered and everything worked well and I was happy. About 3 months ago the laptop would not turn on. I spent days trying to get hold of MTN online, but it would seem that there was no way to return the laptop for repair or replacement. Eventually the laptop switched on again, and we used it like that for about 3 months. A few weeks ago the laptop again would not turn on. I tried just leaving it overnight hoping it would come right again (pathetic for a brand new laptop - Mecer) I then started the process of trying to get MTN Online to collect the laptop, but everyone I speak to at MTN does not know what to do. Eventually someone said to take it to an MTN store. We went to MTN N1 City here in CPT and they said they cannot take the laptop, MTN Online needs to collect it. I am now back to square one. We are paying for a device we cannot use for months now. We either would need this contract cancelled in full and I will find a solution that works, otherwise they need to make right by me some way or another.
We ordered 5 orders of Burger King for a meeting we had at our offices. As the meeting goes by people are helping themselves to their burgers, and at the end one of the engineers realises that he has no burger. We then counted and checked and were definitely delivered a burger short. Not sure who is at fault, but it leaves a bad taste in the mouth with our clients.
I moved over to Auto and General because I had a friend state that he has enjoyed his cover with them. After getting my quote I was going to save almost R300 a month paying a total amount of around R1800 per month with them. One condition is that they would send tracker out to install a tracking device on my wifes Ranger free of charge. This insurance started almost 2 weeks ago, and after about a week of cover I called them to hear when this tracking device would be installed. They told me that Tracker themselves would be in touch. Today I receive a notification that my theft cover has been removed from the Ranger due to no tracking device being installed. I mean how dumb can you be
I can say that the items I have purchased on this site work well and are a great bargain
