I would like to bring the following to your attention and I am not sure how I should write a review explaining my experience. I attended on 23.8.25 evening the Fleetfood Mac music show which included a dinner (booked online) with a friend at the Sevruga Restaurant (1 Dock Rd, Waterfront, Cape Town). Before the event started we ordered a glass of red vine and one of the staff members accidentally poured this glass of redvine over my trouser and jacket. This person apologised and disappeared. Shortly after another staff member came with a new glass of red vine. I asked if I could speak to this person who spilled the red vine over my clothes and shortly after this person came to the table. I asked him what happens next and in return he asked where I am coming from since I have an accent. I answered that I have been living and working in Cape Town for the past 20 years and asked him for his name. He then responded with "Mathew". I then asked for the full name and he answered why I want to know his full name? I asked again what his full name is and he answered "Mathew Lucas" and that he is the manager on duty. Shortly after I was handed over by another staff member a paper with an email address (info@sevruga.co.za) and was informed that I should send them the bill for the cleaning of my clothes. A few days later I brought both items (trouser and jacket) to a dry cleaner who charged 278 ZAR for the cleaning of the stains. It took me 2x30min to bring the stained clothes to and a few days later from the dry cleaner. I wrote an email on 28.8.25 to Sevruga (info@sevruga.co.za) requesting the cleaning costs (278 ZAR) as well as the time spent (800 ZAR for 1 hour of my time) therefore asked to pay a total amount of 1078 ZAR to my bank account. Nothing happened, no response from the restaurant. 2 weeks later (12.9.25) I sent a reminder to info@sevruga.co.za asking for the settlement of my expenses. Nothing happened, no response from Sevruga. I then involved a friend who gave me the contact details of the Executive Assistant from Sevruga, a certain Ms Tharien Koen, who contacted Mr.Mathew Lucas who then transferred an amount of 278 ZAR for the cleaning to my account. I then reached out again to Ms Tharien Koen who told me that on 22.9.2025 that the arrangement was solely to cover the cleaning expenses and that they would not pay for any time spent to bring the clothes to and from the cleaner since this was not part of the agreement. She then gave me the contact details of the Ops manager (nicholas@sotr.co.za) which I have not contacted since the decision came obviously from him. There was never any "agreement" about what to pay and what not. I am pretty disgusted about this experience and how they try not to take responsibility over a damage caused. I ask you for your advice how to further pursue this matter.

My wife and I had a dinner booking at Sevruga (V&A Waterfront). The meal itself was really good BUT ... There was a group of 6 locals (South Africans) seated 3 rows behind us, that over-indulged in the wines on offer. Their noise levels progressively increased to such a point that their conversation and laughter sounded like screeching and this continued for hours, despite several guests also seated in the terrace area repeatedly turning around and giving them disapproving looks. My wife and, and the group at our table literally could not hear each other speak - it was deafening. Folk seated further away from this roudy, vulgar group suffered the same affliction. We, along with other guests eventually signalled to a group of waiters, who up until now simply stood by, pretending not to hear the deafening screeches, and our waiter approached us. We asked him if he could please ask the group to tone it down because it was impossible for our group to have a conversation. We could see from the looks of other guests that they all shared our disapproval and concern. The waiter advised that he was "not allowed" to confront / engage patrons about their behaviour. We then asked if he could request his manager to address the roudy crowd instead and he left to speak to his manager. Shortly after, a young gentleman (the manager) appeared and politely and quietly had a very brief word with the group and then disappeared. Following this address by the manager, the group's volume levels increased even further - it was clear that they were out to prove a point. We unfortunately had to endure the rest of the night - feeling as though we were sitting in a pub with drunk ****s while trying to have a conversation with your dinner. The roudy, inconsiderate, selfish, drunken behaviour of a small group of 6 guests ruined the night for the rest of us on the terrace - easily amounting to 40+ guests and Sevruga's staff and management were completely indifferent and incapable of managing the situation. Clearly the young manager was completely out of his depth regarding how to deal with this drunken crowd, and the watering staff's complete indifference to the situation just amplified everyone's frustration. Sevruga need to invest in training and equipping their staff to handle these kinds of situations so they can serve the interests of all their guests and maintain a pleasant environment for all, and not allow a handful of guests to ruin the night for 1/2 of their restaurant!!! I will NOT be returning to Sevruga in a hurry!

We arrived for a couples dinner from a WikiDeal on Saturday evening. We were seated at a table for 2. Presented with the menu relating to the WikiDeal. Were given time to decide on the meals whilst our bottle of wine was opened and left to breathe. Our waiter was great. The meals were excellent and the desert was the best we have ever eaten. Fantastic evening! Really liked the confirmation sms received in the morning of the booking, just to confirm that we were still coming.

After we had our Sushi, a waiter by the name of Nkosi came and offered us complimentary desert. When the bill came, it was charged on our bill which was confusing but we paid regardless. When confronted about the issue he acted shocked and confused- insincerely at that with a misogynistic attitude. I was very unimpressed with the way he conducted himself and hope he will be dealt with for misleading us and being extremely rude.

so i bought a wikideal deal and it incl Sevruga in the waterfront plus a spa day.. by the time i got to Sevruga my phone had died so before going in i had asked the receptionist am i able to mail it to her when i get home as i already went to the spa and mailed it to them. thinking they are linked, she then said yes yes thats fine she gave me a business card and said please feel free to mail it as soon as you get home i said sure, she gave me the menu and i went ahead and ordered.. at the end of the day the waiter asked me for my coupon i then said maybe she should speak to the receptionist. receptionist came along and advise no there was a misunderstanding.. i got up and went to speak to her at the door.. the owner then pulled me aside and asked me what was the matter, i explained that i dont mind paying for my bill but i was told i could email the coupon. so my question was as a customer why dont they take it up with the receptionist that gave me the go ahead to sit and eat?? as the owner Shaun could also not turn the situation around at this point i was very annoyed and said they shouldnt worry about it i will pay for my bill. i then paid R800 which the owner said mail me the coupon and i will refund your money within 24hours.. its days later and i still havent heard from him again.. very bad service not only was i mislead but i couldn't even get an apology from the OWNER because me as a customer was at fault as per him, i should have printed the coupon..
