DO NOT USE THEM EVER!! I will not bore anyone with the details and summarise it below. They arrived 4 hours late to pick up my items with a 1 ton bakkie that was actually way too small for my things. This was on 7 July. It is now 12 August, I have been promised twice now that my items are in Cape Town only to find out when push comes to shove and they run out of excuses that my things were indeed never loaded. Mark blatantly **** to me throughout this entire experience. They will take your money and respond to message until such time that it becomes their responsibility to deliver, then Mark wll ignore you when you start asking questions. I am now sending a second company to get my things back from them and praying that nothing is damaged, lost or ******. I will also unforunately now have to start the battle to get a refund.

I booked a move with Star Oar Logistics, dealing directly with Mark Bennett. Although he initially responded to calls and messages, they failed to deliver the service and told me to make alternative arrangements — costing me more time and money. I had paid a deposit upfront, and after pushing for a refund, I was promised the money back within 7 business days. That deadline passed, and since then they’ve ignored all further attempts to contact them. No refund has been received. After doing more research, I discovered many others have been ****med by Star Oar Logistics in similar ways. This seems to be a recurring pattern of taking deposits and not delivering. I am proceeding with a formal complaint to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud and urge anyone else affected to do the same. Google should not be ranking this business, and people should be warned. Do not trust Star Oar Logistics.

I received the worst service from Mark Bennet and Staroar Logistics. First of all they were late, myself and Mark agreed that they will start loading at 8 in the morning, they pitched up at 4 in the afternoon, with no idea where to offload. I had a cleaning company there and because of Staroar not pitching they had to move the furniture to clean the house. Mark quoted me for a 3t closed truck and they come there with a 1.5t truck, which resulted in me having to pay more than the original quoted price. I use plastic crates to move my stuff, one of the crew walked on top of the crates breaking the lids and damaging the contents. The driver, Charles was laying on my couch ,feet up and watching videos on his cellphone while the other two men was loading the truck. They used the bathroom and urinated on the floor, I had a cleaning company come in that morning and everything was spotless. It seemed like he tried to urinate all over the toilet seat as well. I have a suede lounge suite they dragged it across the concrete on the material, damaging it. My wooden furniture was trampled on and damaged. Some of the crates fell from the truck when they offloaded, resulting in a lot of breakages. The driver demanded I pay him for their services before they leave, when I told him that I had paid Mark Bennet he said we'll he is not going to get paid by Mark and I must come to an atm with him to withdraw money. I told him there was no way I'm going to go to the atm with him. He then tried to take my phone to e-wallet the money to himself. They sat in my lounge, not moving before I paid them. I asked him to give me his bank details then, and he said his work permit had expired and the bank froze all his accounts. I have send Mark an email to give him the opportunity to explain what happened. Still, to this day, he has not responded to my email, and he is not picking up his phone. Why are these companies still allowed to do business. Surely there must be something that can be done to close these Companies doors.

I received the worst service from Mark Bennet and Staroar Logistics. If I could give 0 stars I would. I paid a deposit to this company 2 weeks before my move date. I only read the bad reviews after paying the deposit. I contacted them a day before the move to confirm our appointment time. Long story short they never pitched, I had to find another moving company. It's been 2 weeks and my deposit has not been paid yet They no longer take my calls or respond to my emails. Do yourself a favour and DO NOT pay any deposit or do business with them. Getting someone from the street to help you will be heaps better than any service you will get with these guys. They will be responsive only before paying once payment is made they disappear. Mark and Staroar Logistics are ******.

They say buying cheap is expensive, and I should have listened. I saw the bad reviews, and the good ones, I do believe in giving small businesses a chance. Never again after this experience. This is the worst service I have ever received from a logistics company. We had to pay 50% of the invoice amount to secure a collection, which is fine, we don't know them, they don't know us. Build a little trust. Mark was very eager to help, started off with green flags. He rep**** very fast until collection day. First off, I received the invoice with incorrect an incorrect address, he said he saw and will change to the correct address, he did change the address, to another incorrect address. Secondly, we booked for 11am on a Saturday as all parties involved has to work during the week, I flew down to CPT from JHB to ensure a smooth move, it was not smooth, the truck did not show at 11am, Mark sent me a contact number for the driver collecting, and it turned out it was the wrong driver. Mark then ignored calls and messaged when I tried to find out where the truck was. Eventually he said he would get back to me. After numerous attempts to get hold of him, he had a 'personal crisis'. The driver that was the 'wrong driver' then organised another company to come and collect our furniture at 10pm that evening with a bakkie and trailer. The next day Mark was very quick to let me know the collection address is wrong and this will result in the invoice being more than the original invoice. I then paid another amount to ensure we get our furniture. They promised that it would be delivered to JHB that same week Tuesday, surprise! It was not. Again we struggled to get proper information as to when our furniture would arrive in JHB, Mark kept saying he would get back to me. Our furniture arrived a week late. Then, the company that delivered did not want to offload as Mark did not pay them, and they were afraid they would not get payment from him for their services. After resorting to threats of police involvement, they eventually offloaded after hours of standing in our driveway. Mark tried to hold back the process as I paid R150.00 short EFT, and then handed the cash to the guys offloading. There was an issue around every corner. DO NOT USE Staroar Logistics! Our furniture did not arrive in the condition that we loaded on the trailer, and some of the wrapping showed tampering, which means people scratched in our stuff. Do not trust Mark. No matter how good the quote looks, or what promises he makes.

Excellent service received from Mark Bernett and Team at Staroar Logistics. Quotation was the best out of 6. The guys who did the loading was professional and efficient. Within 45 minutes of confirming the quotation with Mark his guys arrived. Communication was effective and efficient. Thank you Mark and Team for the excellent service received I will most certainly use you again.

They pitch up late, by 4 hours. Don’t answer calls in time, have unlicensed trucks. Luckily due to their unlicensed truck they were unable to enter the estate. We paid our deposit and when cancelled we have to wait 3 weeks for refund, that is if they don’t run away with the money.
