Beware when taking refund insurance on Webtickets for theatre tickets. I paid R65 insurance to obtain a refund when we mistakenly went to the wrong venue, only to find out that the refund is only applicable if there has been a severe or drastic event, such as a death, fire, accident, etc. Not only that, they require a death certificate and all other supporting documents. I understand one should read the Ts & Cs, but most of us take the email refund offer, for this kind of event, in good faith and at face value.

I had a terrible experience with this company that made me run around Jhb, out of my way, to find a Cashmere knitwear jersey similar to mine that SweepSouth star burnt. It was purchesd overseas so it obviously is more expensive and there's no way I can find the same item in South Africa. The agent refused to pay the amount I deserve and insure for not that it can replace my burnt product in least - nowhere near. I have sent my proof that it is actually Kashmir, but still I feel I'm literally called a ****? I've also sent what such products in South Africa cost. Same as if I went to get quotes of the product, 10x the amount they limit to pay and more. Still, they sent me what would be paid and no call or explanation. I'm waiting for the manager to call me. I will keep others updated as I've ALWAYS HAD ISSUES WITH SWEEPSOUTH AND NOW THEIR INSURANCE. MY PREVIOUS MESSAGE WAS DELETED. IF THIS ONE IS, I WILL KEEP POSTING AND PUT IT ON OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA SITES, YOU'RE DENYING THE TRUTH? I TOOK DOWN THE NAMES OF THE PEOPLE. PUBLISH MY POST!

Gareth Gibbons, Liam Welsh, seeing my proof of clothing being a Cashmere knitwear not purchased in South Africa, making me travel all around Jhb to find something similar as it's not a common item and you're still not willing to pay an amount that is not near or close to what my knitwear costs? Emails for over one month back and forth! I will not leave it here! You do not stick to your promises and there's no point being with you, or your staff at SweepSouth who have burnt my clothing time and time again. Train them! Your service is atrocious aswell as ignoring customers who have been with you since you've opened with countless issues I've turned a blind eye to!

Glad I saw the other reviews, SweepSouth and SureStart do not honor the provided cover, excuses for days, no payout and just an absolutely painfully long drawn out process. No only does SweepSouth wash their hands off any responsibility, they make note of the fact that claims are outsourced to a third party and then to make matters worse, SureStart then outsources to a third party. All three companies are a joke. Find your own helpers and if you really must use SweepSouth don't bother with cover as SureStart will find excuses not to pay out anyway. Horrible, pathetic service, I will not be utilizing any of their services ever again.

Surestart is a **** Please be very careful with this company.. Gareth Gibbons and company don't stick to their word at all.. I took a drone insurance a year back and it got ******. The ensurer requested a police report and everything was provided the problem is that now everything is finalized but they are dragging their feet to pay. Saying that they need the manager to sign the cash out settlement but it's going on for weeks. They don't even want to answer the calls but they took my premiums.. Surestart is a **** please be careful Gareth Gibbons and company will lie to you just to take your premiums. How do they sleep.

I'm extremely unhappy with the 'Insurance cover' SweepSouth offers - you need to partner with alternative intermediary brokers to handle your insurance claims. For context, the lady that came to clean our house was lovely and thorough. Unfortunately she dragged my custom made dining table across the floor bending 2 of it's legs. I did chat to her about it and told her I'd reach out to insurance because things like this happen and this is why we take out insurance. It has been over 2 months now and I am still struggling for a resolution of this claim. Surestart asked me for photos and videos of the damage which I sent them and they also asked me to source quotes of tables similar to mine which I did. I know the insurance only covers up to R5000 and unfortunately my dining table is worth more than that. They then said I must get a quote from a repair man to fix the legs. Because of the material and the nature of the damage the table legs are not able to simply be repaired. I communicated this to them and told them I'd get a quote to replicate and replace the custom steel legs. They did not honour this quote and 2 more weeks went by with no communication. I then had to email 2-3 additional times querying if there is any update on my claim. The Surestart representative then emailed me to say he has good news, my claim has been approved for replacement.... They wanted to send me a table from Takealot, this table was valued at R3000 (marked down from R5000). It was also made of lesser value materials to my current damaged dining table. I then spotted that the replacement table they so graciously offered me was not even a dining table - it is a console table, three times smaller than my current dining table! I called the Surestart representative (enraged at this point ) and he told me I sent them a quote for console table in my very first response. I challenged him to show me which quote I shared was a console table, because I knew I had not. His response was oh the pictures look the same so I can see where the confusion comes in. He did not apologize for accusing me of sending the wrong information. I am now back to square one. It's been two months sitting without a functional dining table. After my enraged phone call the Surestart representative asked me to send pictures of the table (again) in it's current space and state of the damage. Who knows what the response will be after another 2 weeks of waiting. Their communication is shockingly slow and I believe whatever Surestart is communicating to the insurer is inaccurate. Bottom line - if you are going to offer insurance up to the value of R5000 then that should be honoured without this 2 month struggle! I do not want a replacement table, for far less value, which in no way matches my current table. You are not swapping like for like at all. I have provided a quote to restore and replace my damaged table legs (which was less than R5000) and I would just appreciate if that money could be paid into my account so I can get the legs manufactured and carry on with my life. I do not want to deal with Surestart, acting as a middle man between myself and the insurer, because this process has been drawn out long enough due to their inability to communicate inefficiently!

This company acts as a intermediary for SweepSouth insurance. Their communication skills are shocking and take very long to respond with feedback of any kind. I also believe they share inaccurate information with the insurance company causing massive delays to my claim and the resolution thereof.

Require a R250 damage report for a R1000 item and take 7 days to get back to you don’t offer solutions just copy and paste message previously sent after a week. Pathetic - so many bad reviews you you guys just stop caring huh ?
