We ordered the grilled calamari and it was completely rotten, the smell alone was unbearable. The waiter handled the situation professionally and took the dish back immediately, even informing the manager and requesting that he come and apologise. Despite this, the manager chose to ignore us and continued keeping himself busy until we left. This level of management behaviour is unacceptable. It shows a lack of accountability and disregard for customer experience, especially when the floor staff were doing their best to resolve the issue. They asked for my contact details and I sent them as requested, yet it has now been over a week with no response. This further reinforces the poor customer care and lack of responsibility from management.

The food was not well done. Seafood smelled awful and not well done. Oxtail was not cooked well. The sushi made my sister throw up. Even the service was not up to standard. They need to do better.

A Manager called Nature should be taken to hospitality training or demoted. I kindly asked the waiter for the heater to be moved closer since there were no other customers in the adjacent tables. He referred me to the manager who refused to come & address me. I insisted until he eventually came from hiding in the kitchen. Instead of being professional & courteous, he kept interjecting me & repeating the same lame excuse that heaters should be positioned within the same line. Even when I told him his tone is off & unprofessional, he kept talking over me clearly wanting to have the last word. He forgets his salary actually comes from the ctustomers he is rude to. Then the pesto beef pasta dish I ordered had no pesto or any flavour for that matter. At that point, I had zero heart to complain. I've eaten at The Rock a few times before without any issue, but this experience put me off for good, no thanks to the horrible manager called Nature. Sies.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at The Rock Kyalami. Their payment machines were down for over 40 minutes between 18:21 and 19:00, and neither the waiter nor the manager took any action to assist. This reflects poorly on their unreliable systems and lack of contingency or backup payment solutions. Such inefficiency and lack of customer care are unacceptable. I won't be returning, and I advise others to avoid this place until they address these serious issues.

The Rock has really delicious food, however their service is very weak! I’ve made a few bookings asking for specific seating which was confirmed only to arrive in the day and there is no note of it - we’ve had to accept what’s then available. The prices are on the high end so more is expected. As for ordering from MR D - FORGET IT!! Every time I’ve tried they reject the order. Worse still, they accept and then reject it 30mins later. Why have your food available on Mr D if you cannot produce the goods?? It’s highly frustrating and does nothing good for your reputation! Pull out of Mr D please and spare us the disappointment and effort- also considering the payment comes off the customers account and then must be used as a credit for other restaurants that can produce the goods advertised. So much potential but management is clearly weak.

I am delighted to provide a positive review for The Rock in Kyalami Corner. This restaurant is truly a gem, providing excellent food and service that leaves a lasting impression on customers. Firstly, the food is exceptional. The use of hand cut chips instead of frozen chips really adds to the quality of their dishes. The seafood dishes and sushi are cooked to perfection, with the freshest ingredients that really enhance the flavors. The meat is also cooked to perfection with a perfect sear, making every bite of their kebabs and burgers heavenly. The taste is simply unparalleled, and it's no wonder they have earned a reputation for having the best burger in town. The service is equally outstanding. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and they make every effort to ensure that the dining experience is a memorable one. What really stands out is the spirit of ubuntu that is infused into their service. The staff truly cares about their customers, and they go above and beyond to make sure that everyone is happy. Finally, the atmosphere at The Rock is great. The restaurant is always full, but the staff manages to create a welcoming and relaxed environment that makes every visit a pleasure. The décor is elegant, and the restaurant is always clean and well-maintained. In conclusion, The Rock is a must-visit restaurant. The food is outstanding, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy a delicious meal in a friendly and warm environment. Just be sure to make a booking in advance!

I am absolutely horrified at the quality and portion size which the Rock have started to dish out! Really R175 for a thin piece of overcooked, dried out hake and now serving half the vegetable portions they used to. R90 for 4 measly wings, really? I am so done being ripped off and this is the third time I have given you a chance and now I am done! How do you rip people off during such trying times? You have lost a customer for life!
