Bought a Chery Tiggo 4 pro cash from this dealership on 30th May 2025. On 2nd June I discovered a rattling noise when driving, informed them and had to book the car in to the workshop. It was discovered that the brake pads were worn out. It got replaced but the noise never went away, which I brought to their attention again, and again had to take the car in, only to find that the actual is from the exhaust pipe and catalytic converter that is broken. They figure it has been tampered with, and indirectly implying that it happened AFTER I took ownership of the vehicle, eventhough I informed them 2days after about rattling sounds I'm hearing. Mind you, I've asked the salesman when I will get to test drive the car, and his response was "who still do test drives"! Also, why did the roadworthy pick up the worn out brakes? The driver's seat had a big tear in it,and the rear end of the car had scratches that were repaired before I collected the car,but the 114 point check didn't indicate any of those issues. How do these dealership ppl sleep at night, knowing what they do to people and their hard earned money?

Thorp Plumstead & Haval South Africa I am extremely dissatisfied with the service provided by Thorp Plumstead, specifically regarding the ongoing repairs to my vehicle. The vehicle was initially checked in for issues with the tyre pressure sensors and a noise, which was diagnosed as a gearbox problem. However, the communication and timeline have been inconsistent and frustrating, with numerous delays and vague responses. Despite my repeated attempts to contact the service department, I have received no clear explanation for the delays or a firm timeline for resolving the issue. The vehicle has been in the service department for almost two months, which is unacceptable. I expect a higher level of service from an authorized dealership like Thorp Plumstead. The lack of transparency and continuous delays have left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I hope that Thorp Plumstead and Haval South Africa will take my complaint seriously and take immediate action to resolve the issue as I’ve reached out and communicated with them on numerous occasions and they still seem to show no urgency to the matter.

Horrible, it has been three weeks trying to organise a replacement remote control key. Cant get hold of the manager, paid the full amount, booked my car in for one whole day and got it back with a useless key and excuses.

I have been calling Thorp Daily for the past few days, not for any problems I have, not for any thing other than wanting to extended my motor warrantee. It really seems like mission impossible to get someone to help me with it. Not sure how much money I spent on air time daily since last week to just try and speak to someone. Every time I call, they say they will transfer me to someone and I will wait until the call just ends. Sometime it even says this number is not valid. I was even told by one of the people that they will get someone to call me last week, still waiting...… I dont understand what so difficult about speak with someone and someone taking ownership to ensure I was called back and helped. Seems like Thorp Plumstead needs some training on customer service, how to earn a customers trust and be customer obsessed , no ownership here even it is a sale. So disappoint, when i bought the car i had amazing service, never thought I would experience this trying to buy something again.

Absolutely shocking service! I took my car in for a service a year ago. I told them that there was a few issues with the car to be checked out. I was then told that they don't do drop offs anymore. Ok, not a train smash, so I get a very expensive Uber ride back to town. They never called to tell me my car is ready for collection, and neither did they bother to wash it - another value added service that they apparently no longer offer. So I go to collect my dirty car and the lady tells me that a few things need to be fixed, but they don't have the parts and I'll have to bring the car in again. She gives me a quote. Two days later I call her and tell her to please go ahead and order the parts and she tells me that I will get a call when the parts arrive. I never get a call. In the past year I have called them numerous times to try and book my car in for repairs. Each and every time I only get to leave a message for the "service manager" who is never available. "Service manager" also never ever calls back, and I have concluded that such a person is either the most useless human being on earth, or actually doesn't exist. They have left me stuck for almost a year, I now have to go to another service station, get the car assessed again, because they also can't provide me with the report of what was wrong in the first place. I have emailed, called, tried every point of contact and have now given up. I'll go somewhere else. Thanks for nothing, except for all the frustration. I will never be back, you obviously don't need my business.

Having had my car damaged in their wash bay, windscreen scratched and safety film damaged on one window, they were not in any hurry to get the matter resolved. The correct windscreen eventually arrived, but their service provider for the film, Claremont Fitment Centre, has had to redo the film four times, not just the one window, but had to replace all the film because they didn’t think to colour match the film. Every time they did it, there was dirt and grit under the film. The Dealer Principal has not been a help, and is now siding with the inept services of Claremont Fitment. The dealer principal has shown himself to be nothing but a stereotypical second hand car salesman - make the sale, then not support the customer, and a supporter of bullying and aggressive service providers. Stay away from them.
