Accountability Group (Pty) was engaged by Swimmattix to just add my name to the Credit Bureau; they were not there to do debt collection. I was taking swimming lessons with swimmattix, for which you pay in advance. We paid for April [2025], and we told them we will not be atten**** [that April]; and included in the message we told them we were cancelling our membership. Their requirement is, you notify them one month in advance. They managed to acknowledge our absenteeism, but say we were supposed to send a different message for cancelling. When Accountability sent us an email, we indicated we were disputing this, and we want Swimmattix to give us the detail for their ombudsman so that we can escalate. But Accountability went ahead and added my name to the credit bureau, even though we had shown correspondence that we indicated cancelling a full month in advance Remove my name from Credit Bureau, and do proper debit collection, and consider the emails and details we sent to you; bcoz this is not professional and sparks of xenophobia on both the Swimmattix and Accountability side

I never thought I'd have to say this, but an organization that calls itself Accountability is shockingly incapable of taking any. I was coerced into paying Cool Ideas under threat that my credit record would be negatively affected—even though the charge was still under dispute. When I turned to Accountability for help, expecting a fair and impartial resolution process, I was told they were “waiting for a response” from Cool Ideas. That was it. No investigation, no protection of consumer rights, and certainly no accountability on their part. It’s disgraceful that a credit recovery company enables this kind of bullying by doing absolutely nothing in the face of ********* behavior. Rather than stepping in to protect a consumer during an ongoing dispute, they sat back and allowed threats to be used as leverage for payment. Their disputes department has proven entirely ineffective. I've since begun seeking legal advice, because it’s clear that Accountability cannot be trusted to resolve issues fairly or responsibly. If you're looking for a service that actually lives up to its name, look elsewhere. This has been nothing short of a betrayal of trust.

I am deeply disappointed with the ongoing mishandling of my account by both Rentoza and Accountability Group (Pty) Ltd, and I am now forced to escalate this matter publicly due to continued inaction and what I believe to be ******** practices. In November 2023, I was the victim of a violent armed *******, during which an iPhone 8 leased from Rentoza was ******. Following this traumatic event: A valid insurance claim was submitted. I was instructed to pay an excess, which I did. The claim was subsequently declined (due to it being a so-called “buy-out month”), yet I was offered an upgrade to a Samsung Galaxy A54. The excess I paid was reallocated as the first installment toward the new device. Despite Rentoza being fully informed that the iPhone 8 was ****** and never recovered, I continue to be harassed for its return or payment, and a default listing has been placed on my name — which is unjustified, inaccurate, and in violation of the National Credit Act (NCA). Additionally, I am still waiting for: A clear explanation from Keketso Moshodi as to why this default was ever listed. A response from Khonani Nethengwe regarding the rejection of my valid claim, despite clear policy communication that contradicts the reason given. Action from Accountability Group, who have failed to remove this listing — even though their own system allows for immediate removal. The mishandling of this situation is symptomatic of a larger issue within Rentoza’s operations: The buyout process is flawed, leaving customers misinformed and penalized despite following the process in good faith. The support structure fails to resolve disputes or acknowledge valid complaints within reasonable timeframes. Clients are promised resolutions that never materialize. Legal & Regulatory Breach Under the National Credit Act: Section 72(1)(c) allows me to dispute any inaccurate listing. Section 72(3)(b) & Regulation 19(10) require the listing to be removed within 5 business days if no supporting documentation is provided — which to date, has not been. Furthermore, this default negatively affects my ability to access credit — especially critical now as I prepare to apply for a business loan. I am also considering legal action for reputational damage, financial prejudice, and emotional distress. My Demands: Immediate removal of the default listing from all credit bureaus. A formal written confirmation that my profile has been corrected. A proper investigation into the mishandling of my claim and harassment. Accountability from both Rentoza and Accountability Group for their failure to comply with lawful credit listing procedures. If this matter is not resolved urgently, I will lodge formal complaints with: The National Credit Regulator The Council for Debt Collectors The Information Regulator And will seek legal recourse. I have attached all supporting documents, emails, and confirmations. I urge both companies to treat this complaint with the urgency and seriousness it requires. Shantelle Malone

Rentoza and Accountability falsely put a default on my report 14166TEBLEM for a device that's been returned to this ***** company. With emails sent back and forth it seems they can't resolve this issue now and remove this listing

CAN YOU GIVE NEGATIVE STARS??? WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM!! Explain to me how it is that every month I pay early & I am treated like a piece of trash by Rentoza? These pathetic emails I am harassed with are now getting me seriously angry. I will get my lawyer involved and I will sue you for falsely accusing me, threatening me without cause & defamation. Whoever needs to start doing their jobs better start because the system you guys are using is broken and you are treating loyal customers like they are worthless trash.

Corporate Greed is Endemic in South Africa I have subscribed to a company called Accountability for a number of years. They provide a host of business related services to many businesses throughout South Africa. I use them for blacklisting of non paying clients mainly but they perform a myriad of other services. I sent them an email a few days ago advising them that I am handing in my customary 1 month notice period as I am now using the services of another company that offers similar services but at a much more convenient package and at much cheaper rates. I NOW RECEIVE AN EMAIL FROM THEM STATING THAT MY NOTICE PERIOD IS 12 MONTHS! Have you ever heard of such bull**** in your life before? I emailed them back and told them to go and have ***ual intercourse with themselves as well as suggesting that they go and work in the Donald Trump spin department. He thrives on hiring people who specialise in small print and bull****. If you are looking for a “business services” company, I sincerely suggest that you do not use Accountability. They rely on small print to keep you hooked into paying them for a service you do not want or need.
