I stayed at African Pride Irene Country Lodge for 7 days and my car which was parked on their premises was severely scratched by what I assume is either one of their other guests or their staff (who drive golf carts). The hotel though having cameras claim they saw ‘no foul play’ after I had to run after them to check. They then promised to have another look but have not gotten back to me. This establishment does not care about your personal property and how much loss/damage you suffer during your stay there. It would not hurt them to properly check their cameras but they seem to not care. Utterly disappointing for what is supposed to be a 5 star hotel.

Visited Camdeboo Spa at African Pride Hotel, Irene Country Lodge. No problem with spa experience, but the restaurant beverage prices are outrageous! A can of soft drinks = R36.00, glass of local white wine = R 100. Unacceptable!

I am extremely disappointed at the contradictory’ information I received when inquiring about a reservation placed at your establishment . I made a booking for 4 adults through your website. You were more than happy to reserve the funds and confirm my booking. However, upon calling reception a few weeks later to confirm my booking, I was surprised to say the least. After being told that the room I booked is not big enough to accommodate 4 adults and I need to upgrade my room or book a second room. The receptionist mentioned that my booking is not valid as the 4 people in the room ‘must be the same family’. Furthermore, I was told that your ‘website cannot be updated with every small thing the government changes’. Please note that I have emailed and got no response, I have tried calling numerous times and my call had been disconnected after being transferred and no option to leave a voicemail, I have used your WhatsApp platform and got no response twice when inquiring about the establishment and the booking that I’d like to make. After sending many WhatsApp texts yesterday I finally received a call. Had I not been proactive and kept trying to get in touch I would have shown up on the date of check-in and been denied entry to my room where more chaos would have ensued. The alternatives given to me were also not helpful and favoured African Pride after informing them that this is my family that I am booking for and telling them that their booking site is misleading as it makes no mention of an executive suite for 4 or more guests, it only stated that the maximum amount of guests is 8. The Individual I spoke to advised upgrading to an executive suite so all 4 of us can stay together and the second individual advised 2 guests per room. I went ahead and cancelled my reservation as I felt that the information was contradictory. I am so disappointed and utterly annoyed with African Pride Irene Country Lodge. I have been calling them every day for the past 4 days trying to get assistance and clarity on something. Calling them for four consecutive days, 2 to three times a day!!! Each time I call, I am told that the Spa manager will call me back. I have been communicating with Tanya from conferencing and reservations. At this point I'm so over it, I can't be given the run around for 4 full consecutive days and still no clarity or feedback. I'm very disappointed and have even lost interest in visiting the hotel. They need to start putting more value on their clients especially during this trying time, our economy is at it's ultimate lowest, people are saving money as they are uncertain about the future and here I am wanting to spend my hard earned money by supporting their business and this is how I'm treated as though they are too good for my money.

********** 944 PIN code: 7327 I reserved accommodation for 2-3 March 2019 for our wedding anniversary. I reserved through Booking.com. I asked a question about the availability of non-alcoholic beer but never got a response. The hotel sent me a booking confirmation email on 20 Feb 2019. I replied "NO LONGER INTERESTED" to that email which originally contained the following names: ********** Alfred Banda; Gugulethu Mbewe. These recipients will have an email in their inbox dated 20 February where I indicated that I was no longer interested with the booking. On 5 March I received a NO SHOW email from Booking.com asking me whether I stayed at Mount Grace or not. I replied that I did not stay at the hotel. THEN THEY DEDUCTED 4550 FROM MY ACCOUNT. On 5 March the amount of R4550.00 was debited from my account! I called the hotel and spoken to Mr Banda twice; I have also spoken to Mr Emmanuel from Booking.com. However, nobody appears to be interested in getting back to me. I am utterly disappointed with the way this issue is being handled. I have always wanted to visit this hotel but my impression of them has now been *****ed totally. How can they make me pay for accommodation that never happened?? Very disappointed.

Good day again, I have booked a weekend out for the 28/09/2018 until the 30/09/2018 unfortunately i was unable to go for that weekend because i had a miscarriage a night before on the 27/09/2018. I qas admitted At BRENTHURST clinic and later moves to Charlotte Maxeke hospital where a D&C was perdomed on the 28/09/2018. I was discharged on the 29/09/2018. I was so traumatized and confused by the whole experience and was very ill since i lost a lot of blood. Was bed ridden for almost a week, only to find my account debited by MOUNT GRACE FOR 2507, 50 on the 02/10/2018. I have been trying to request for a refund ever since but only told today that i was charged for a NO SHOW" . I have tried ro explain to a lady by yhe name of GUGU that unfortunately i did not planto have an emergency that required me ro be hospitalized therefore i could not even call and cancel since i was sick. She seems not willing to help and rold me she dont see a possibility of me being refunded and reffered me ro the terms and conditions of the booking which does not state the cancellation policy in terms of emergencies. Please help. I got a very bad service from AFFINITY HEALTH AND NOW MOUNT GRACE, PLEASE ASSIST

My sister unfortunately chose this place in Melrose Arch to have her 40th bday celebration. There were 24 of us and only had 1 waitress. It was almost as if they didn’t expect us because the wine was warm and it took them 1.5 hours to even begin serving the wine. The food was cold and came out in dribs n drabs. The “main event” was the fact that we had a set menu that had an option of lamb shank. 15 of the 24 people had ordered that, but we were told that only 7 was available because it was out of stock because it was served to the other patrons that were dining there. They promised to comp the 8 main meals as a courtesy. However when it came time to pay no one knew about this deal and in fact they were saying they promised to give ya 2 free bottles of wine. Needless to say the night was ruined by this as it was quite a spectacle where the Manager has to be called back whome himself escalated the situation due to him not being able to handle sticky situations. He had a terrible attitude and kept walking away like a petulant child when he seemed not to be able to answer our questions. It was entirely disgusting and unbefitting for that environment it being Melrose Arch and all.
