Amazon.com
Based on recent customer reviews, Amazon.com is drawing significant frustration from South African shoppers, with a recurring theme centred on unresolved refunds, undelivered parcels, and wrong or faulty items being sent. Customers consistently mention poor responsiveness from support agents, generic scripted replies, and difficulties holding third party sellers accountable. Concerns around Kindle access, suspicious account charges, and warranty disputes also surface repeatedly. On the positive side, a smaller group of customers appreciate transparent pricing, fast or free international delivery, and an easy to navigate platform when orders go smoothly.

I purchased an iPad on Monday and delivery was promised for 13 May 2026. I received no notification that there was any delay and now, the updated delivery date is 19 May 2026. Unlike take a lot, Amazon seems to be very unreliable.

I am not happy with Amazon and their poor service…they delivered wrong product, I paid for a higher priced product. Been trying to get their Attention and my money back, they are not replying to my emails. We need to boycott these croocks

I ordered a book from Amazon (order 112-4193143-3704239) on 28 November 2025. The delivery was late, but I put that down to a lot of delivery due to sales in November. Later, I tried to write to Amazon but got no reply. I went into their website and nowhere is there an option that you can indicate that you have never received your parcel. It says it was shipped, but it was never delivered. I was never provided with a tracking number. There is no customer service email to report this. According to Amazon if you did not get your parcel, you are refunded. I have never been refunded. It is so frustrating. I really wanted that book and I paid for it.

I received a refurbished Dell Latitude 2‑in‑1 from Amazon UK. as a gift in March 26. The keyboard failed, Dell confirmed the fault, but no replacement exists worldwide. Amazon refuses to help, pushing me to a seller in Madrid while I sit in Durban, South Africa. This is not customer care — it’s outsourced indifference. Amazon hides behind third‑party sellers, shows zero accountability, and treats loyal customers with total disrespect. Bottom line: Amazon is profit‑driven, not customer‑driven. Three times now I’ve faced issues, and each time they pass the buck. Appalling service.

This company owes me money! They refuse to call me back. They have had my returned item since the 17th and NOTHING is being done about my refund! The item was never even opened when I received it! Their chat jockeys are useless! All they can do is regurgitate generic answers and responses!

i am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my Kindle purchase and the service I have received from Amazon. I originally bought my Kindle with the expectation that it would be a long-term device. One of the key reasons for my purchase was the inclusion of free Wi-Fi access, which was later discontinued. This change already felt like a broken promise. Now, I am faced with a situation where I can no longer use the device at all. Because I will no longer to download any kindle books at all. This is completely unacceptable. I feel that I have wasted my money on a product that has not delivered on what was promised. This is particularly disappointing as this was my second Kindle purchase. Based on this experience, I will not be purchasing another Kindle in the future, nor will I recommend your products to others.
