Brooks and Luyt
Scores reflect the Overall AI Score for each category
Based on recent customer reviews, Brooks and Luyt faces severe criticism across virtually every dimension of the customer experience. Customers consistently report aggressive and excessive call harassment, failure to provide paid-up letters and settlement documents, unresolved credit bureau disputes, and rude, dismissive consultants. A small number of reviews acknowledge individual agents who delivered competent service, but the overwhelming pattern is one of deeply dysfunctional processes and adversarial customer interactions.

I received a phone call from one of your staff. I was fully aware of what she required from me and instead of hearing me out she was rude, spoke over me and hung up while i was mid sentence. I cannot believe you can run a collections business when your staff are so inqdequetly trained that they are incapable of having a conversation. I am under debt review, and the caller refused to acknowledge anything that I had to say. Ridiculous

Utterly disappointed in the way they are handling my refund. I had my FNB account with them and I should have made my final payment which they deduct a full installment and not what I actually owed. I called them numerous times and all of their consultants keep saying they will put me through to the right department and then end up cutting the call. I recall talking to a lady named Lesedi four times on two separate occasions and all four times she put the phone down in my ear. I am struggling to get refunded on the access amount they owe me.

I contacted them as I am in the process of applying for a job. I had to take my current job with a lower salary and could not maintain my credit card payments. Now I am trying to get a job with a higher salary and all I need from them is a letter confirming I have a payment arrangement in place. When I called them they said they could not provide one, but yet I have an email which states confirmation of payment arrangement. All I need is the same thing but in a letter so I can get this job and actually start paying this debt off with proper payments, yet they won't assist me. I just need something confirming that there is a plan in place.

I am extremely disappointed with the conduct of Brooks & Luyt regarding an alleged outstanding Capitec Merchant account that was settled approximately two years ago. The account was paid in full, and the machine was collected. Unfortunately, Capitec never provided the updated paid-up letter or statement as promised at the time. Despite this, Brooks & Luyt have been calling me between 7 to 15 times per day, including Saturdays and after business hours. Every time I explain that the account was settled and request verification from Capitec, I am ignored. On one occasion, a representative even raised her voice and shouted at me during the call. I have repeatedly informed them that there is no outstanding amount. Their response was that they will continue calling me until the “amount is settled” — which is extremely concerning, as there is no valid outstanding balance. This behavior constitutes harassment. I formally request: • Written proof of the alleged outstanding amount • A full statement from Capitec • Immediate cessation of repetitive calls • Communication in writing only going forward If this conduct continues, I will escalate the matter to the appropriate regulatory authorities.

Brooks and Luyt Attorneys are constantly harrassing me (and lately my wife as well) regarding an "outstanding amount" on my "FNB Premier Account". 1. I have no outstanding amount. 2. The messages threaten me with blacklisting if I don't pay promptly, or tell me that my credit rating was negatively affected by my non-payment. 3. The SMS's often give the option to reply "Yes" for a callback, which I did many times. I have not received a single call from them. 4. Each time I phone them they confirm that there is no outstanding amount, and they even cinfirmed my phone number to ensure that I would be removed from the database, but now my wife receive threatening SMS's from them. "PAYMENT NOT RECEIVED. Final reminder that if your FNB PREMIER payment is not made by close of business today to FNB Acc No: 62239202667 Ref: 12524717, we will prepare your file to proceed with further action. Brooks and Luyt Inc. Tel: 011 5439065 or Reply Yes for a callback. Ref: 12524717"
