We have been using this insurance for 1.5 years. The GP visits are covered and are unlimited which we use a lot so this helps with expenses. However once you go beyond that and go to a specialist and get blood tests. They do not specify what will be covered. You will have to pay some of the fees, probably majority. And the small portion they have to pay, you will struggle. I have an issue since last month getting them to pay for the blood test they cover in the scheme I am on. They keep saying they are escalating the issue for payment, they don't know why its not being paid. It's going to be a month soon and they still have not paid the labs. The labs are fighting with me for payment. Very poor service and when complained via email about my calls not going through and not getting any feedback. Nothing was done to solve it. They even refuse to send the labs or me an email in writing that they will pay, they are waiting for approval so that the labs can have some feedback. And if you don't waste your airtime to be on hold just to be told the same thing every time. "They are escalating". You will be left with no communication. And they can only send emails, no calls. Even tho it is something urgent. Honestly was so happy at first when we joined , but each time we are getting more and more issues. And turn around time is extremely slow regardless if your enquiry is urgent. Waste of airtime. I complained directly to them and did not get any solutions or feedback.

These people are a bunch of ******* the stuff they claim to cover they dont cover any of it and the doctors and dentist they claim is on their policy when you get there aren't actually, and when you call to cancel they still want to charge you even though you haven't claimed anything from them.

Stay far away from Dischem Health absolutely useless. They don't pay for 90% of medications and don't have providers that are listed on the app, when you make appointments and get there, get told they not a provider.

I obtained authorisation for a gynaecologist consultation and was advised by the agent that if the provider requested an upfront payment, I could claim it back. I was never informed that paying upfront was a standard requirement. After the consultation, I paid the provider and the claim process has since been handled with conflicting information and delays. Shortly after, my account was suddenly suspended for non-payment, preventing claims from being processed. I immediately arranged payment as instructed, and the debit went off from my bank account, but the insurer keeps saying the payment is not reflecting on their system and my account remains suspended. Despite multiple calls and reference numbers, the matter remains unresolved. I followed the instructions provided by their agents, yet my claim is still not settled and my account status has not been corrected. This level of miscommunication and poor administration is unacceptable.

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding a double debit on my account and the lack of assistance I have received to resolve the matter. On 25 February, my account was debited twice by Dis-Chem Health. I escalated this issue on the same day and have since sent two emails requesting assistance. Unfortunately, I have not received any meaningful response or assurance that the matter is being investigated. I also contacted your call centre and spoke with a consultant, Kim Mabaso. The interaction was very disappointing. After I explained the situation and confirmed that I had already sent two emails, I was informed that there was nothing she could do and that I simply had to wait for someone to respond to my email. The manner in which I was spoken to was unprofessional and unhelpful. As a customer, I expect prompt assistance, especially when it involves an incorrect debit from my account. I would appreciate it if this matter could be urgently investigated and the duplicate debit refunded. Additionally, I request feedback regarding the conduct of the consultant mentioned above. Please treat this matter as urgent and provide me with an update on the status of my refund and the steps being taken to resolve this issue.

This is the worst heath insurance scheme I know. I requested for the inception of my cover to be moved to 1 May instead of 1 March due to anticipated financial difficulties at the time. I sent this request 20 February, 6 days before the debit order which was due 25 February. Dischem health refused to listen to my request and went ahead to debit my account. I requested a refund and they refused to refund me. They have ignored all my subsequent queries and left me in financial distress. All I get are auto replies and nothing further. So much for a health insurance that has caused me more harm than good. Such an irony!

I took out the policy in January and it in the recording the I asked to deduct the end of January, Dischem did not deduct and then deducted twice the end of February, firstly that’s not what I agreed to secondly Dischem health put me in a financial difficulty, as this was an amount budgeted for other accounts. I called You guys to move my start date and was told it can’t be moved my account is suspended and I need to pay the money, spoke to a lady Tandiswa, she didn’t want to give the managers name or her surname , she wasn’t not very helpful as I asked if retention can give me a call and was told NO YOU MUST SEND AN EMAIL WE CANT HELP YOU. this makes no business sense, as you would rather let me cancel and join your competitor than assist me and have a loyal customer by retaining the business, I hope this can be resolved quickly r I wish to cancel and never join you again
