The service received to date from Discovery Invest does not even justify the 1 star I am forced to select, NEVER in my life have I experienced anything as bad as this. I have held this company at high regard up until this experience. A death claim of all is being treated with utmost disregard, not only the fact that the ONLY feedback I received from them was a completely and utter lie. The exec office where escalated queries are supposedly dealt with seems to have not a care in the world to resolve anything, in fact it turns out they are merely a msging service passing along 2 day old msges. Do the phones and emails work in this department as it seems to be extremely problematic to get any answer on the phones and emails go into a big black whole of nothing. If you are lucky enough to get a mail from them they address it to the deceased party, thanks for showing that empathy to an already dire situation is handled with absolutely no care whatsoever. I started querying this on 23Feb'26, today is the 9thMar'26 with the last actual email correspondence being the 4thMar'26 saying payment will be concluded within 24 to 48 hours.... it's 5 days later... need I say more, this is absolutely disgusting.

In December discovery advised that I had a penalty from sars. To which I agreed to pay. However upon doing my tax returns I found out it was never paid. I had my penalties settled sent the SOA to which Discovery advised that they cannot pay the money into my own account even though the SOA from SARS states I don’t owe SARS any more. So they don’t want to take liability for their non compliance to which I now have to suffer the financial burden. If no positive feedback I will be sending it to the judicial enquiry for short term insurance as Discovery has failed to make payment since Dec and now won’t pay my money directly to me but to SARS which will then require me to lose a days work again as it would require me to go into SARS to have this rectified and I can only get an appointment in April otherwise I would need to stand in queue from 5 am if I don’t have an appointment which also poses a risk to my life as it not safe as a woman to be travelling alone with public transport to the SARS . Hope this matter gets resolved before I take further steps and impose that I get paid my own money that they refuse to pay back

As direct investors with Discovery Invest, we had an exceptionally smooth experience in transferring and consolidating funds from an RA and Provident Fund respectively into a Living Annuity with Discovery Invest. This is our 3rd LA with them and we are very happy about the returns from the funds we selected, as well as the 'boosts' to our monthly income.

I submit an application for a two pot withdrawal 07 January 2026. Discovery invest informs me the turn around time is 7 to 10 working days. I receive a withdrawal illustration from them and send it back on 09 January 2026. On 19 January 2026 they inform me that they requested a tax directive from SARS. On 21 January 2026 Discovery invest informs me that i must indicate to them if it is a partial or full withdrawal, on there form there is only full withdrawal on the second form they send they put partial withdrawal. I need the money as we had a death in the family but i am still waiting 12 days later. I contact there call centre and are advise please call us back on Tuesday and they are busy with it. The service is bad, poor you must contact them they cant even call you with progress no customer service at all.

I just want to share my ordeal with a withdrawal that I requested with Discovery for an offs**** policy I took with them over 5 years ago that matured in December 2025. 01/12/2025 I send them an email requesting a withdrawal, I then receive an automated email response from them - an acknowledgement of receipt 02/12/2025 I receive an email from them with a quotation attached and some forms to fill in, I then then print all these, sign scan and email back to them the same day. I receive an automated email in acknowledgement almost immediately 24/12/2025 I call them to follow up on my withdrawal, I am told that I never responded to the email they sent me on 02/12/2025, surprised I ask the gentleman to stay on the line while I resend the email until he confirms receipt, he finally acknowledges after a few attempts on my side. I then receive another email from them requesting I complete a few details I left out on the withdrawal form (business details - the policy is in my personal so "n/a" and I must complete the ****en name section even though I am a man) and now they also want a certified copy of my proof of address even though that has not changed as per policy document. Alas, I complete, scan and email them back, I then receive the infamous automated email. 29/12/2025 I send them an email to follow up, they then respond telling me that under occupation I only filled out "self employed" but left out the name of the business, I print, complete, scan and email them and the automated email comes. 30/12/2025 I finally get an email from them without having to poke, its feedback - compliance approval was granted and the claim was processed etc. 15/01/2026 around 09h15 I receive a phone call from them, they ask me a few "security questions" and now my withdrawal is being forwarded to "payments" in 2 - 3 working days I should receive "proof of payment" 20/01/2026 I send them an email at 13h08 following up, I receive their trusted automated email and no further response A process started on the first (1st) of December 2025 and today 21 January 2026 my withdrawal has not been paid yet, I find it quite interesting and not the least entertaining, maybe the word SWIFT is never to be found on their vocabulary.

My husband invested in the 200 plus in October 2020. The investment matured in December 2025 and the numbers do not correlate. He has not been able to get clear information as to how funds were calculated and deducted. They send him around in circles from pillar to post not answering the request for detailed statement of how they did all this. The doubled amount rhey give is not double his investment to begin with. The boost is totally demolished with a fee that places it in a negative amount. Then the main amount opening blance is at least R25000 short of double and another large deduction of capital gains. He loses over R100k and rhey don't explain how these fees are calculated. He has mailed actuary dept. They just send some amounts but do not answer what he is asking..broker forwards to head office and we are nowhere. We are desperate as the funds are needed but we need it settled before withdrawing. All amounts vary that are given. No uniform amount. It would also seem that capital gains were also deducted on the quarterly report. There is no clear communication or answers
