Experian SA
Scores reflect the Overall AI Score for each category
Based on recent customer reviews, Experian SA faces severe criticism across virtually every dimension of its service. Customers consistently report inaccurate credit profiles, unresolved disputes lasting months, and near-total communication breakdowns. While a handful of named agents receive heartfelt praise, the overwhelming experience described is one of frustration, financial harm, and institutional unresponsiveness that leaves consumers feeling trapped and powerless.

I'm writing to escalate this matter. Despite multiple emails to Rofhiwa Phungo and Laura De Carvalho, my complaint about prescribed debts from DMC and NIMBLE remains unresolved. It's unacceptable that I've had to chase this for so long. As per Section 126B and Regulation 19(6), these debts are prescribed and shouldn't be on my report. Both debts are prescribed and there's no contractual basis for them i have never made any acknowledgement, arrangements or any agreements with DMC and Nimble, Please investigate and remove it from my profile. Remove these accounts immediately and provide written confirmation. If not, I'll escalate to the National Credit Regulator and/or seek legal action.

I have 3 accounts from the same company that show open- all these accounts have been paid up for over 60 days- months even, i tried disputing them and added the paid up letters but my dispute gets closed citing not relevant. All i want is experian to update my records, these are paid up i even have paid up letters but when i go to www.up.experian.co.za. and select dispute i cant attach when i select option of account - it gets removed i cant query the said account, when i choose duplicate it gets closed that its not a duplicate. This is wrong because my score keeps going down for an account i paid up a long time ago that experian is refusing to assist with- the call center number never goes through, i logged a dispute with transunion and it was resolved in less than 10 days, experian keeps closing my queries , this is pathetic

I am requesting urgent assistance regarding incorrect credit bureau reporting relating to an account with LendPlus Technology that formed part of my registered debt review. Account Details • Credit Provider: LendPlus Technology • Account Number: 72701 • Debt Review Reference: DAD-475692 Account Timeline • 03 September 2024 – Account opened with an opening balance of R2,538. • October 2024 – Reported as 30 days in arrears. • November 2024 – Reported as 60 days in arrears. • December 2024 – Reported as 90 days in arrears. • January 2025 – Reported as 120+ days in arrears. This account was subsequently included in my registered debt review under reference DAD-475692. However, the credit bureau reporting currently shows inconsistencies that do not accurately reflect the debt review process: • The payment history suddenly reflects “OK” after January 2025 without explanation. • The report currently reflects “Months in arrears: 0”. • The account shows a balance of R0.00 and is recorded as closed on 09 December 2025. • The debt review status and arrears history were not properly updated. I contacted Experian to correct the information and was advised that the update must be submitted by the debt counsellor. Unfortunately, the counsellor has not responded to multiple requests to correct the reporting. Accurate credit reporting is required under the National Credit Act, and incomplete or inconsistent reporting may negatively affect a consumer’s credit profile. I am therefore requesting that LendPlus Technology and the relevant parties urgently assist in correcting the credit bureau information so that it properly reflects the debt review process and accurate payment history. If this matter cannot be resolved promptly, I will be escalating the issue to the National Credit Regulator and other relevant authorities for further investigation. I would appreciate assistance in resolving this matter as soon as possible.

Warning to unsuspecting consumers!!!! If you have no debt & never been in debt for years, Experian will reduce your credit score for absolutely no reason. When I contacted them about this, I was told, there was a "variation in my details", that's the lame excuse they came up with. Nothing has changed in my details for years. After reading the reviews, it seems that majority of the people, reviewing are black!!! Is this credit bureau ******? Or, is it run by the Afrikaner tribe!!!! When they give you a poor credit score, for no apparent reason, it's defamation and as South Africans, we should not allow these facilities to exist in our country. We are not living in the past oppressive regime.

I need to understand why certain settled accounts of mine that was recently settled have been updated or could be updated but 3 of my accounts that have also been settled still reflects as in arrears. Why must we wait for these to be updated only after a certain time whereas new credit is updated immediately? I have the paid up letters and proof of payments for all the accounts that were settled so why will the Bureau not update all?

I am extremely frustrated with the handling of my dispute by Experian. I have now logged a dispute for the third time, and once again it has been cancelled without proper resolution or clear explanation. I do not understand why this keeps happening. The account in question was paid in February, yet it has been updated as 30 days in arrears for February. This is an incorrect listing, as payment was made. I have proof of payment. I am being told that the account is still within the 60-day period allowed under the National Credit Act (NCA) for creditors to update their records. However, this makes no sense in my situation. If the listing is factually incorrect, why should I have to wait 60 days for it to be corrected? An inaccurate listing negatively affects my credit profile and financial standing. I request that: 1. The incorrect 30 days arrears listing for February be investigated urgently. 2. My dispute be properly processed and not cancelled without explanation. 3. The incorrect information be removed immediately once proof of payment is verified. I expect prompt feedback and a clear explanation as to why my disputes are being cancelled instead of resolved.
