Scores reflect the Overall AI Score for each category
Based on recent customer reviews, Experian SA faces overwhelming consumer dissatisfaction across nearly every service dimension. Customers consistently report unanswered calls, ignored emails, dispute systems that auto-reject valid claims, and credit profiles riddled with prescribed or inaccurate listings. While a handful of named agents earn praise, the dominant narrative is one of regulatory non-compliance, broken communication channels, and a dispute process that traps consumers in repetitive loops with no resolution.

Customer Service & Professional Guidance (1.3) is dominated by reports of unreachable agents, rude WhatsApp consultants, and chatbots like Ed that cannot resolve queries. A small minority praise named agents such as Lesego, David Makgoka, Lusizo, and Kamohelo for going above and beyond.

I am extremely disappointed with the poor service and inaccurate reporting by Experian. I previously disputed the Acquifin account ACQUFIN - 34276790 under dispute reference EXP20260327-CD189904. The dispute was resolved in my favour, and the account was confirmed as closed. Despite this, the account has suddenly reappeared as OPEN on my credit profile without any explanation or notification. This is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about Experian’s data accuracy and dispute resolution processes. How can an account that was officially resolved and closed suddenly become active again? Consumers rely on credit bureaus to report accurate information, especially when applying for finance. Incorrectly re-listing accounts can negatively impact a person’s credit profile and financial opportunities. What makes this even more frustrating is that I already provided all the required supporting documents during the dispute process, and the matter was supposedly finalised. Now I am forced to deal with the exact same issue again because of Experian’s negligence. Experian needs to: * Immediately correct and close the account ACQUFIN - 34276790 again * Remove any incorrect outstanding balance linked to this account * Explain how a resolved dispute was reversed despite the dispute outcome already being in my favour * Improve their internal controls and customer service processes This level of incompetence from a major credit bureau is unacceptable.

I have never encountered such level of bad service. It is absolutely shocking that we as normal consumers need to have this level of bad service from Experian. You try calling them no answer, you mail them no reply, i have been struggling with a dispute since January. So the documents after numerous ohone calls , finally reached their complaints department, only to get a automated reply that the process takes 21 business days. I am sorry to say but i as a business owner would have to close my business if a customer/ consumer had to get that type if reply. This is most likely the worst company in SA to deal with. Experian you need to get your act together, you as a company are one of the least trusted companies and is making normal consumers battle to get credit due to your incompetence.

I am deeply frustrated and financially compromised by Experian South Africa’s blatant failure to adhere to the National Credit Act (NCA) and their statutory obligations. My debt counsellor issued my official Clearance Certificate (Form 19) and paid-up letters, emailing them directly to Experian in January 2026. Under the NCA, a credit bureau has a strict legal mandate to update a consumer's profile within 20 business days of receiving this notification. Experian completely ignored this timeline, allowing my 20-day window to lapse into February without taking action. Now, Experian’s data team is hiding behind bureaucratic excuses, claiming they can only update records via the new Credit Bureau Association (CBA) portal. While that centralized system became the official guideline in March 2026, my valid clearance was submitted weeks before that framework even existed. Experian is retroactively applying new rules to cover up their own historic administrative backlogs and negligence. Because Experian has refused to remove this outdated debt review flag, they have caused me severe, direct financial injury. I have recently been flatly refused vehicle finance by multiple banks solely due to this inaccurate "red flag" on my Experian profile. This is no longer a simple administrative delay; it is a reckless disregard for consumer rights that is actively damaging my financial health and defaming my creditworthiness. I have kept an airtight paper trail of all emails, dates, and bank rejections, and I am currently escalating this non-compliance directly to the Credit Ombud and the National Credit Regulator (NCR). Fix my profile immediately and remove the debt review flag.

Dear Experian Team, I am writing to formally raise my concern regarding an issue on my credit profile which is causing significant frustration. A debt that was previously listed on my profile was disputed approximately two years ago, at which time I provided all the necessary supporting documentation. Following this, the matter was resolved and the listing was removed. However, I have recently noted that the same debt collectors have been listed again on my credit report. I subsequently raised a query through ClearScore, which was escalated to Experian. I responded to your request for information and again provided all the relevant details. Despite this, the incorrect listing remains on my profile, and I have sent multiple follow-up emails without receiving any response. This lack of communication and resolution is extremely frustrating. Reference number: 6081386 I request that this matter be urgently reviewed and that the incorrect listings be removed from my credit profile without further delay. I have worked diligently to maintain a good credit history, and this situation is negatively impacting my efforts. I would appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and a clear update on the resolution. Kind regards, Siphosethu

I'm writing to escalate this matter. Despite multiple emails to Rofhiwa Phungo and Laura De Carvalho, my complaint about prescribed debts from DMC and NIMBLE remains unresolved. It's unacceptable that I've had to chase this for so long. As per Section 126B and Regulation 19(6), these debts are prescribed and shouldn't be on my report. Both debts are prescribed and there's no contractual basis for them i have never made any acknowledgement, arrangements or any agreements with DMC and Nimble, Please investigate and remove it from my profile. Remove these accounts immediately and provide written confirmation. If not, I'll escalate to the National Credit Regulator and/or seek legal action.

It's been over three months of me trying to get Experian to remove a listing from my credit report—something the other bureaus managed to do without issue. And yet, Experian still won't act. It's genuinely disturbing that a company is allowed to toy with people's financial stability like this, with no accountability.
