I hired Glassmen Retreat 3-4 months ago to replace some some leaking seals on two upstairs aluminum windows. They completed the work and I settled their account timeously in full. However barely 3 months after they walked away, the one window seal started leaking again during an afternoon rain downpour. After notifying them accordingly and being told they would send someone out to assess, they never did anything further to resolve the issue. All subsequent emails to date have been ignored. In hindsight, I wish I had listened to my contacts in the building industry and stayed away from these unprofessional people and their sub standard workmanship. If anyone out there does decide to go with Glassmen Retreat and their work fails in due course, don't bother trying to resolve the issue amicably with them. They simply don't care, offer zero after sales service all of which is clearly evident in their non existent response when problems arise. After supporting them over many years with other services on offer, I will never do so again. Seems certain people and their businesses have no shame taking other peoples hard earned money and providing them with shoddy sub standard workmanship. Businesses like this should simply pack up and move along into the nearest ******* dump where they belong.

We recently had shower glass and mirrors cut and installed by Glassmen Herm****. Such an amazing company to deal with in every way. Nolu, tge lady at the front desk helped with everything. She communicated timeously about everything, checked up on progress, and was professional to the end. The installers of the shower glass were as professional and efficient as Nolu. Great business to deal with

I have visited Glassmen in Retreat a few times for normal things like mirrors and a broken window or two. Their service, workmanship and products have always been top class. This should be expected from all companies providing glass and mirrors. What impresses me most is their ability to fashion non-normal things from glass and mirrors. I rebuild classic sportscars as a hobby. My current project needed new rear view mirror glass (two layers) and glass for a rev counter gauge. I could buy a new mirror online (expensive and time consuming), but the gauge was impossible. Glassmen in Retreat were able to make the glass and mirror I needed. I gave them templates and they made all three pieces perfectly, quickly, and they fitted first time with no need for shaping. They must have artists working there as the pieces really are beautiful. Even the hole drilled through the glass was perfect. The person working in reception really knows the industry and was able to advise me on what thickness of glass to use and knew the challenges I had faced. She had clearly done this before. I will be using them again.

Don’t even want to give 1 star. 3 Months of infilled promises My shower doors are installed and one doesn’t close. At least 10mm gap between the sliding panel and the frame. Shocking service. Shocking workmanship

<p>I landed up smashing my bakkies back window,i used the live chat funtion gave all my details and waited for them to call,which they didnt do.So i called them.Some sad story about they didnt have and they where going to call but some other sad exsuse.Turns out they dont have stock and would help try help monday.</p> <p>Problem of being 24h is the point to carry stock,this window is on the best selling bakkie list for 2 years now(ford Ranger) and they dont have stock.</p> <p>Well it seems more like a scam just to get extra business im thinking they allways help on mondays.</p> <p>Dont waist your time with there silly add of 24 hours</p> <p>Best part is now its rainning if they called me back early i could have tried another option.</p>

I had my window panes replaced at a cost of in excess of R30,000 by Glassmen Retreat.<br> The frosted glass developed white blotches.<br> Despite calling a Mike ( the manager in charge) regularly and requesting a replacement it took 4 months for someone to come out. This person told me it was due to a natural occurrence caused by moisture. I called him back to reassess and he has subsequently agreed that this is not the case. Now that this has been agreed , they now want the invoice from me before they proceed. These are the people who raised the invoice on me - why would they not have that detail?<br> <br> Why would it take them 5 months to resolve the replacement of one window pane among the many they installed. <br> You have been made aware of how the management deal with customers at this branch.

Dear Messrs Fowles, Fullard, Drew and Horne,<br> I might not be your largest client, but I have been loyal for a long time. Your service has seriously declined over the years. It is now horrible. Rest assured, I will no longer use your services nor recommend them.<br> After 3 months, I eventually got a quote, which I accepted, deposit paid on 26 January - with a 20 day waiting period.<br> No acknowledgement by 6 February, so I phoned. Yes, they'd received by payment and the order had been placed.<br> By 2 March I'd heard nothing, so I phoned. A feeble excuse - the order was late due to power failures. They will get back to me by Friday 6 March<br> By Friday 13 March, I'd heard nothing so I phoned. A feeble excuse: they tried to phone me but MTN was down - I'm not an MTN subscriber.<br> Eventually I received an email asking if they can install on Thursday 19 March. Yes, I replied, what time? - heard nothing. emailed again: what time - nothing. Emailed again: what time: 9h00 to 9h30.<br> At last, only 28 days late.<br> But then, they had ordered the wrong fittings.<br> And the measurements were wrong - it didn't fit - It all has to go back and we start again.<br> No more!<br>
